good luck !!!! nice bucks, these are the two that i hope to see in the AM.but if a good doe shows up first im gonna let er eat, get things started off right! -
you need to have it tied in better.... any peep will slide if its not secure in there good enough... if you don't have the string rapping around your peep to secure it to the main spit string than go get it tied in better.... had same one for three years now on the same string and never moved...

To Tink's or not to Tink's, that is the question....

the only methods i use are: early season, i spray coon urine on my boots for the walk in , then spray 1 or 2 squirts of "bowhunters fatal obsession" on some leaves before i climb up,,, around rut time i do the same, but add ONE squirt of doe in estrus buck bomb on some leaves, climb up, and every hour or so i squirt one short blast of the buck bomb in the wind.... LESS is more!!!! i can't stand how hunting shows and marketing promotes the hell outa scent wicks to disperse more scent for longer.... do you really think a deer dispersing those scents are that concentrated naturally in the woods?!:"? NO, if anything it puts them on alert if they do come in at all.... -
Naaaaaa, just a button buck lett em grow another 22 yrs, haha..... Hell, I dare u to not squeeze one off at em this season . Nice one , good luck

Plastic bin or "tote" as u call it up here .. Haha.... and an earth scent wafer for under, outer, hat, n pack..... Also where scent washed cover-alls( w/ air on in truck if needed) w/ base layers, then put outers on when I get there.... N then obviously spray down... Then hang the scent wafer on my hat until the hat goes back in the bin w / the wafer and my outers... Inners get rewashed every time, outers about every three hunts... -
Compensating for taking a shot from Treestand

basically in a NUTSHELL, practicing from a stand height = maintaining correct form, NOT a significant difference in yardages... BEND AT THE WASTE is the motto for the season... 9 MORE DAYSSSSSSS yyyyaaaayyyyyaaaaaaaaa...... -

thats not actually my drawing, found it on google images, cause if it were my drawing , stand height wouldn't have been 35 ft lol ...... so when you come down to reality, 20-25 feet stand height, the difference in horizontal and diagonal yardage is only 1 maybe 2 yards, nothing to even think about... -
Compensating for taking a shot from Treestand
deerpassion replied to beachpeaz's topic in Bow Hunting
its your point of anchor.. when you shoot on the ground you draw and anchor level right.... but some people in the tree draw at a downward angle without bending at the waste and drop the arm to aim, so the basic concept is everything above the waste stays in correct form as if you were shooting on the ground, then bend at the waste so your eye meets your peep at the same angle as shooting on the ground... -

see, horizontal distance(base of your tree to deer in yds) is only slightly shorter than diagonal distance(from your stand to deer in yds) , however, look at the height of his stand, 35 ft!!!! no one bow hunts that high, so if you come down to 20- 25 ft the difference in distances will shrink.... so (20ft) squared + ( 90ft or 30yds) squared = 8500ft... the square root of that is 92.2 ft which translates to 30.73 yds.... so only a difference of less than a yard do to angle, not enough to even blink an eye at... just range hold on the heart in case he jumps the string and either way you've got a kill shot.. simple as that... hope this was helpful ... i laugh when guys get so caught up in angle compensating range finders costing hundreds of dollars for stand hunting.... those only do you good out west when making long shot uphill or over a rock face, standard 100 dollar range finder does the trick every time... good luck , Joey -
you got that right, had one cam stolen already with a lock box on it, and another spot i had tape on a couple a tree's way back in figuring most wouldn't got that deep n ripped all my tape off... don't care though cause im a little nuts when it comes to this stuff and i'll be up that tree WAY before they even start walkin from the truck lol....

ya it does the job, gotta be gentle with it though, this is my second one all together, the first one i tore up during archery in south florida swamps during wicked rain storms that pass through quite often, couldn't get it down in time.. oh well, im stoked about actually being dry while hunting and not sweating my a$$ off during archery this year! got some nice bucks on cam, so im lookin to top my biggest buck to date this year! good luck ya'll
-
ya, so all the guys complaining about early bow being hot and buggy and bla bla bla, you can stop and enjoy opening weekend... good luck! i know i'm gonna enjoy the heck out of it...
-

-
It's not vented, doesn't make a difference to me...

Some public land your allowed to leave it in all season and some land u have to take it in and out with u every hunt... Depends, I wouldn't leave it anyways cause it WILL get stolen at some point, already forfeited a trail cam and lock box this year... Goodluck
