Too many deer on higher ground to go through all that trouble. In theory, it sounds like a great idea ..... but in reality, I'll bet your odds are better at killing a whopper where they have something more to chew on than water.

Tuna....in oil! Turkey's too dry unless it's smoothered in mayo!
-
I'm really bummed.....not a single one here yet.

My climber is still hugging the tree it was in last fall. I got two chain-ons that will likely stay put where they are, and one other that's looking for a good early season ambush. I just started sitting in a stand in the evenings with the camera overlooking the corn field. Got to see lots of deer last night coming from the far corner and even had a few doe work their way under me yesterday. How exciting, lol! I'll probably take a saw with me tonight to do some trimming before they show up again.
-
Saw them headed down a trail your way FE! I think this was their get-away bike......keep your eyes pealed for the little porky kid and his ol' man rolling past your trail cams again!
-
No more bacon and jelly doughnuts before hanging your cams Burt, lol! Those alien shots are creepy..... I thought that kinda stuff only happened in the corn!
-
That's part of my restoration plans! Antler handle bars,...antler kick stand.., and and dual antler horns, lol! So far my quick searches say this kind of bike ranges from $400-$1000 in new condition. Obviously this was just a cool find with no intentions of fixing it up. I'll take the first $100 anyone want's to give me......$200 after I add the bone bling!

I was out moving some cams around yesterday when I spotted some rusty metal in the brush. I grabbed hold and yanked this baby out! A two seated Western Flyer! I'm not having much luck digging up any information on it other than 1950's-60's. Thought for sure I could find something similar on ebay, but nope. I've been walking past this thing for years and never noticed it before. Thought it was a pretty cool find whether it's a hunk o' junk or not,lol

I saw a mountain lion hang a leopard before..... True story..
-
The more I look at it, I believe you're right. No doubt a mountain lion from this evidence. The dark semi circle is likely a blood splatter from a recent deer kill! I bet if you investigate a little further, you'll find a carcass up a tree nearbye! Send this pic off to the DEC so they can quit denying their existance in NY now that you have the proof we've all been waiting for! I can't wait to hear them admit they've been wrong all along. Maybe they'll finally even fess up to releasing these big cats to control the wolf and elk population once they start those re-stocking programs as well. I'm just happy to see this out in the open so we can finally get some answers! This isn't the first report from the Coventry area.... nice catch!

Good job- that sucker looks nicer than some of the furniture I had in my early apartments! Let us know how it holds up. -
"The Deer of North America"- Leonard Lee Rue III Not much of a hunting guidline book, but a good read about deer behavior in general. I prefer this kind of book over one based on hunting tactics.... and the hard cover copy has some awesome color whitetail photos to boot!
-
Ok, I'll be honest with ya...... first one is a whitetail deer... and the second one is a whitetail deer. Hope that doesn't affect your beef herd or any other deer herd you're raising negatively, lol
-
There's just no way of telling from the pic alone. Unfortunately, you're gonna have to pop the hood and just start poking around to see if anything obvious jumps out at ya. Could be something simple as a loose nut.., or maybe one of the intake ports is clogged with crap!
-
Ya know..., back in my prime, ol' wooly was quite the ladies man once I formulated a game plan to manipulate the sleazy little sloots! Later on in life I decided to stick to girls that were more my type!

Lucky for them, they picked the right address to land at. I bet most folks would be reaching for the wasp and hornet spray soon as they see that. I'd probably have the same reaction if the swarm landed on my pad. Not a big bee fan here, but I understand their purpose. Will they leave a location like that on their own if left undisturbed, or are they looking to take up summer residence on your shop?
-
You get some real bruisers out your way! Nice shots Dave!
-
That makes a pretty strong argument against safety harnesses! I'd have hated to be strapped into that stand when the tree decided to swallow it head first, lol
-
Yup- been seeing them splattered all over the place here too. I think all the rain lately has a bunch of them venturing into unfarmiliar territory and unable to find their way home. Then again..... it could just be the turtle rut! I just started seeing snappers last week, but haven't been able to scoop any up yet.
-
Found this guy running around in the goldenrod field today. I think he was lost and lonely. After our photo shoot, I gave him a lift down to the crick where I've been seeing a turtle-ette sun bathing on a log topless.
-
Awesome Davey! Glad to see the deer are giving you plenty of photo opps with the new cam! It sure didn't take them long to bulk up in your area. They all look surprisingly fat and juicy!

Woodchuck...It's what's for dinner!

Sweet series Dave! That fox almost bit off more than he could chew, but it looks like he's headed back to the den for some whistle pig stew! -
We sure do have a lot of great thinkers here, lol I have many new questions to ponder today..., thanks!

If one synchronistic swimmer drowns.... what are the rest of them supposed to do?
