That looks nice. On the line with what I was thinking. Only problem I have is the ground isn't level so I may have to put a piece of ply wood down Sent from my SM-G925V using Tapatalk

Food plot is planted. There is a cluster of trees in the middle of the field where I want to put a blind. Do you prefer building something, (not a box/house) using trees and sticks for cover or prefer pop-up blinds. Trying to cut costs. Sent from my SM-G925V using Tapatalk

Small game/turkey I usually carry a SxS 20 gauge Bernardelli. I feel like few company's make side by sides anymore. Shame, such nice guns. Deer season I use a-browning a bolt II, 30-06. Love the gun, the trigger especially. Last year I won a ruger American .308 and it seems like a really good gun for the price. Sent from my SM-G925V using Tapatalk

Scout style or "standard" rifle for still hunting?
YFKI1983 replied to uberyan's topic in Deer Hunting
Not sure what the difference in price would be with the tikka but you should check out the browning xbolt or a bolt. Sent from my SM-G925V using Tapatalk -
They shoot well. I meant performance wise. I know what the ballistic tip does. Not sure about copper Sent from my SM-G925V using Tapatalk

Hey all- been shooting Fed Nosler 150 gr ballistic tips out of my 30-06 forever. Last year I bought 2 boxes for my .308 and when I got home realized 1 box was ballistic and the other was copper tip. Has anyone ever used copper tip and if so are they much different. I would love to not have to mess with the scope Sent from my SM-G925V using Tapatalk

Ok. People at the seed place advised against mixing the clover in but I did it anyway and I will also frost seed in the spring. Brassica mix with white clover. Let's see how it goes! Sent from my SM-G925V using Tapatalk

Pretty sure it's clay. It's a little less than an acre. Sent from my SM-G925V using Tapatalk

Thanks for the advice everyone. Next question lol if soils PH is around 6. How much Lime do I need to get it over 7 (this is what I'm reading is ideal) Sent from my SM-G925V using Tapatalk

If I mix them will the clover get enough sun even if the brassica is bigger? Sent from my SM-G925V using Tapatalk

Harvest deer. Mainly to keep the deer in the area. There isn't a ton of food on my property so deer seem to just pass through. When I had the plot in, we saw more deer all year. Sent from my SM-G925V using Tapatalk

Hi all- 2 years ago I did a plot about an acre. Half clover, half brassica. The deer seemed to like the brassica more. What is your experience with deer in your area. Replanting this year and trying to figure out if I should split it again. Is 3 different things too much for one acre? Anything else I should be? Thanks in advance Sent from my SM-G925V using Tapatalk

How does anyone that uses a butcher know that they are getting their own deer and not one that was gut shot and found a day later? Sent from my SM-G925V using Tapatalk

I hope my land isn't WMA Sent from my SM-G925V using Tapatalk

Thanks everyone. I don't think it's a problem but someone mentioned it might be so thought I'd ask. Just talking twigs or branches, not dropping trees or anything. Sent from my SM-G925V using Tapatalk

Putting in my last 3 days of bowhunting before gun opens. I wanted to cut a few branches about 50-75 yards away from stand to open up another lane or 2 for gun season. Is Monday, 5 days before opener too late to trim a branch or 2? I wanted to do it Halloween weekend but forgot my hatchet Sent from my SM-G925V using Tapatalk

I feel like I usually see a lot of deer starting Halloween. Wasn't sure if it was coincidence or had something to do with DST or the moon. Anyway. I have a 1 year old, so I'm used to waking Up at ridiculous hours for no reason, no problem getting up for hunting.
