  1. Well, hope you are not shooting deer with those! Anyway, I will take the old beat up Savage 30-06. With the Leupold. Federal 165 gr. BTSP. I will have my buddies H&R 45-70 as well, if I am so inclined..
  2. Is that the town with the smoke shop, or is that Great Bend? Always get them confused. Anyway, I always pass there on the way up to my place. And pass Binghampton as well... So whats with Clark Summit? Are they all off thier rocker? lol.
  3. That you return it clean, and the way you recieved it
  4. Yeah, I saw that thing recently. I think I will pick one up. I like usefull gadjets that actually work..
  5. Lol! drop a glove, get back up, drop it again. I should hook up a bungee that stops me right before I hit the ground.
  6. Welcome. My camp is west of Norwich as well.
  7. That looks like my plot when I am actually standing there...Photos make it look so much bigger...
  8. Wow, You must have quite a population there. My area is in the woods, not a ton of deer. (sounds funny saying that with a pic of a bunch of deer in it) Two miles away, in the valley, there are plenty of deer everywhere. I am not complaining, I like my spot / area..I will work with what I have. Next year I am going to plant on a couple more spots that I have available. That should double it to an acre..
  9. The plot looks much bigger than it is. It is a half acre. Does and Fawns in the night photo, lots of buttons are the fawns this year. Besides a few bucks, that is pretty much the herd in my area. Not a huge population here, just happened to be there all at once. We, (my neighbors and I), know the deer from certain flaws/growths...Always the same ones. They just do a big loop from my place, next door, across the street. Maybe because of no winter kill last year there are more little guys...One doe is with three, two are buttons. Guess she adopted?
  10. They started very early this year on my Brassica plot. Last year, I had plants into Dec left. This year, maybe because of the one or two early frosts, they started early munching...They have pretty much stripped the large plants. I do have a layer of very small plants all around because I got rid of some leftover seed later in the season. I liked the fact that I could feed the suckers late into the winter, if the snow is not to bad. (like last year)
  11. Egyptian Wheat, any one plant it for a screen? Or anything else? Stuff grows really high...
  12. Now that just dont make any sense.
  13. Nope. No need to. The 9 out of 10 cops statement says it all.
  14. Unbelievable. What a BS statement.
  15. The DEC will just re-write the regulation to be more clear. That is what it all boils down to.
  16. I never really thought about unloading before walking out. My "hunting" stops a minute before legal shooting time ends. I hunt by the rules, the last thing I want while hunting is any hassles. Same with duck hunting. Legal to shoot a half hour before sunrise. I give it an extra minute. Before cell phone times, I would give it a couple. Set up decoys, settle in, load the shotgun, then have some coffee, and wait. Not saying that you should not unload, just that this is what I have always done.

    Tree stand broke

Ouch! Glad to hear you were not seriously injured. I would contact the company that manufactured that stand, maybe they will send you a new one. That may happen to try to avoid liability. Stay safe.
  18. Ran in to a girl with no clothes on while hunting. I do not know if she was hot because she had some guy on top of her pounding away. They smiled and never missed a beat. I just kept walking.
  19. I have always been under the belief that Elk were never that plentiful in the Adirondacks to begin with. I must have read it somewhere a while ago. If that is true, (I guess some digging is in order) there would not really be that much of a huntable population, I would think.
  20. This will be the biggest problem. IMO....Something to dry out your boots. Because if it gets cold, and your boots are damp, thats it. If you can get the right equipment, I think it is doable.
  21. There are much bigger things going on than our election. Israel gave the US until 9/25/12 to "fix" the Iran situation. That is, of course, before the election. Whatever happens, Obama will not be the next president. Unless you belive that Iran will capitulate. Who knows, they might. I doubt it though. If not, after that date, Israel will take out the threat. IF that happens, the Strait of Hormuz will be unpassable, at least for some time. How long does not matter, fuel prices will rise to the level never seen before. If Iran does not back down, we are looking at a serious situation. We will seek a military option, through the UN, that will be shot down at best. Russia and China will protest. Hopefully, they do not back that with an alliance with Iran. I do not think this president will take unilateral action on Iran. (could be wrong as its an election year) Most likely the Israelis will take out the Iranian sites. Then what? Election should be interesting..
