  1. Ugh. At the end of the second video, he went off the wall. Great. Had a good thing going, but lost 99% of americans right there.
  2. Never had a problem at this time of year, good luck!
  3. Hows that? The button you depess on the bolt that releases the firing pin does not "decock it"?
  4. OK, yeah, I see now you meant bolt. I like mine stored fired. But only because that was what I have always heard. Better safe than sorry. (In reality might not matter much, do not know)
  5. Are you talking bolt action? If so, yeah I dry fire it, but I usually take the bolt out for storage.
  6. Strange...I am in 7m, Never had a tick on me. On the deer, I have not checked, nothing obvious like them falling off ready to pounce like on LI..
  7. Yeah, I understand about NYC. But everywhere else if you sell a long gun to somebody it is just their firearm now. Thats it. Much more simple.
  8. Growalot, Your husband has feet shaped hands? If not did you mean to say feet? Anyway, I got tired of having cold hands, even though I had a system for warming gloves under my coat with hand warmers. I finally broke down and bought these. They work great. They were on sale for 130. the batteries last about six hours on the lowest setting. My hands were warm, even though I felt I was some how cheating, lol. They were expensive, but I bought them because they have a lifetime warranty. http://www.cabelas.com/mens-insulated-hunting-gloves-cabelas-heated-performance-camo-gloves.shtml
  9. You are fine, read the form (that you signed lol) You are the buyer if it is a gift. No problem. I had a girlfriend who bought me a shotgun. Later she decided that she wanted to actually transfer the gun in to my name. So I payed a fee at the gun shop. I think it was the same form. I dont think that was totally necessary, but she was from NYC, and buying a firearm was a new concept...
  10. Same...Ever see what a 223 does to a prairie dog, or groundhog. Can blow them up. Same with 5.56, no difference. What they can do on a human? Google 223 or 5.56 wounds. They are a devastating round against "soft" targets. Bottom line...Really sucks that anyone has to get shot by anything, ever. Sad state of the world..
  11. First shot against diet coke. http://s13.beta.photobucket.com/user/duckaroni/media/newarmy44_zps1361486a.mp4.html
  12. Bought a new gun, 44 New Army. 50 bucks from my buddy. You like?
  13. They plow the road to my camp, but I am the last one, it is seasonal after me. My neighbor down the road plows the rest to his camp with a tractor. I guess about 1500 feet. He stays on it though, does not let it build up. Not something I would like to do, thats for sure. The town plows are huge..
  14. That is an awesome group! The following is not directed at you, but just some knowledge for some hunters who might be new to "long range shotgun hunting." Just be aware with many shotgun slugs/sabots, the wind can move them an awful lot when traveling over a hundred yards. You might still want to limit the yardage you shoot at a deer. At 200 yards with wind, this might be an amount measured in feet, not inches.
  15. I call them a medieval torture device. Hot and unbelievably uncomfortable.
  16. This is probably the best idea, IMO. You cant really "win," with a neighbor like this. What can you do, get him locked up for life? It is a no win situation. A lot less stressful this way.
  17. Keep it dry as possible. Put a piece of tape over the muzzle.
  18. Do you carry the pistol in a holster? Sounds interesting. It would be nice to have if a situation arises, like putting a deer down quickly if it still needed it.
  19. I taget practice a lot at my place. I refrain from doing so during deer season. I have 9 magazines for one of my pistols, if they are all loaded I might shoot as fast as I can with maintaining some accuracy..
  20. Golden rod is a plant. It grows mostly in fields that have not been mowed in a bit. Sides of roads, ditches. It is kind of brown this time of year, 3 or more foot tall, slender..
