Buying long gun outside NYC with NYC address
Ford replied to SteveNY's topic in Guns and Rifles and Discussions
The NYPD dont make the laws, they just have to enforce them. -
Just an update to this thread. How did you all do? Me, the best opener I ever had. They were really biting. Wish I was back in the Adirondacks, fishing every day like I did for eight days. What a great time. The fish cooperated, but it is always good. Such great weather, beautiful bass, scenery, what could be better? Lost a monster on a Jitterbug. Darn, still haunting me...Rapalas and rubber worms mostly. Love doing the Jitter on a calm evening though, nothing like that explosion! Sometimes the big ones just slurp it in, who else just had a topwater disapear, and then had a huge one on thier line? Good times.

300 yards is a long way for most lever rifles.

Been fishing the same Adirondack lake for 25 years, opening week. Going to rent a boat on Lake George for a day as well, been doing that for the last three years. Lake George, my average size is small (Smallmouths mostly) but I kid you not there is a bite on almost every cast when you pull up to a new spot. Makes for a tireing day lol!

We had a gun range IN our school.

Cool! Are there bass in those channels? Stupid question most likely..

Very sad. I only saw them a couple of times on the show, but their care free attitude caught my attention. (I googled them after Mitchell died) They seem like they really live life, if that makes sense. I am sure Glenn will have a hard time of it, as they did everything together. Sad.

It would never have taken me that long to find it.

My cousin bought an x bolt a few years ago. What a sweet shooting rifle.

I go fishing in the Adirondacks every June. Cant say how many times those things scared the crap out of me.

What kind of fish would be there?
-
That would solve some problems, but possibly make more, lol.

That is one ugly rifle, lol. -
For me there is always a little sadness when killing a critter. Wether it is a buck, or a chipmunk. When you are a kid, you know so little about LIFE, all life. I remember doing the same thing, and it bothering me. I have no problem with people shooting varmints, I do it myself. Although now only ones that need thinning out at home. Like porcupines, no challenge in that. Chips, around the camp, they can cause a lot of damage to wires on vehicles. I had a buddy that would go out to South Dakota just to shoot at praire dogs at hundreds of yards. It sounded like fun actually. The farmers want the things shot, so they are happy to have someone do it. Just some random thoughts on the subject..

Sheesh, you must have been grabbing hard and fast for that bit...Zombies in that attic? -
I always enjoy to see other members property. I wish more would post pictures of their spots, besides trail cam shots. I needed to rototill about a half acre for a food plot last year. After thinking about buying impements and what not (still want them, but expensive) I found a local gent that did it for less than 200. Eventually I will get what I need, but he came in with the mega tiller, lol. and had it done in no time. Where did you get that attachment? Any more info? Thanks.

Thanks for the words gentleman. I promised my mom I would quit while she was in the hospital. I will quit this comming saturday. It will be hard, but then again easier than most. When I quit, it will be fulfilling a promise to my mom. For those of you with mom's still in this world, please hug her, tell you that you love her, do not get annoyed with her. You will not regret it! Trust me.

Just lost my mom last Sunday. She had quit smoking about 5 years ago. (started after we lost my cousin) And before that she had mostly quit for some twenty years. I would stay with her and watch TV in the hospital. When those commercials came on it was rough.

I know now they have biodegradeable pigeons. But against the law is, well against the law. It seems to me that there are "unofficial" target ranges in some areas. Where people go to shoot all manner of stuff. Some are really disgusting, others not so bad. If everyone picked up thier mess, it might not be so bad.

What non-sense? That was the answer to a question. -

The authority comes from the New York State Constitution. -

I think you have to compare apples to apples. There are huge differences in teachers and cops salaries across the state. Yes, salaries are high, especially on Long Island. But man, it is super expensive to live here as well. Most of the problem, IMO, is the price of the beaurocracy. School admistraters in some areas make rediculous amounts. And some Departments are top heavy with brass..To many chief's not enough indians.. -
She has a sheepish grin on her face. Ha! Cool.
