    Beer

    God bless Charlie Mopps
  2. That's a big bear... 400+ pounds...I've gotten a few...never anything close to that bear
  3. You can't she's a Republican. is fighting enforcement of the safe act and fought local newspapers to prevent release of handgun owners info. I believe she is a lifelong resident of county (50+ yrs). Most of the huntable land in Putnam is state land, city or a controlled by a few large hunt clubs in Kent. Gun hunting in Putnam will remain until the Republican's loss control of the county. But its been a one party county forever, so it is very unlikely to happen. Again, just providing information (or opinion this time) MMMMMMMMKAY!!!!!
  4. Mike I called...posted what I was told...that's what you requested in post #3. just a messenger here, that all. You requested info...I got you (and others) the meeting agenda and feedback on what i was told...I wasn't being boastful or over confident, I was relaying word for word what i was told. sorry if this didn't help you
  5. spoke to the county executives reps...they stated this is going no where...county exec. is pro-gun and pro hunting....they basically said a new resident (Citidoit) moved into the county and is complaining, so they need to address it
  6. contact info for can be found here http://www.putnamcountyny.com/legi/legislators/ I left a VM for my rep, if I hear back, I'll post his reply
  7. It's Putnam County NY. It looks like the county received a letter from a resident and will be addressing in their meeting. see link below...pages 23 thru 28 http://www.putnamcountyny.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2012/06/Protective-Svcs-Mtg-11-09-15.pdf
  8. Nice deer, regardless of age
  9. if the weight and effort of bringing the climber into the woods is the issue, why not just stash it in the woods. cable lock it to a tree near a landmark you can find. make sure you use a combo lock (not key). sometimes I leave heavy hunting cloth in the woods. I also stash water or gateraid I have about a 1/2 dozen hidden / buried under leaves /brush on NYC and state lands (Putnam / Dutchess). never lost one since I've been hiding them (detached from tree). Don't bright eye a trail to them...use a GPS to locate the approx. area if you need to..if you stashed it near a landmark (boulder / blow down), you'll find it again in the spring you can buy used climbers real cheap. stock up and place them at numerous locations good luck
  10. I have a similar question, might have been asked by others before. What’s the deal with Gas company right of ways? A buddy of mine owns roughly 50 ac of land lock property. The only access is down an Iroquois Gas right of way (350 ft wide / with dirt road/path). He told me I could hunt it if I want, but I would need to walk roughly a ½ mile down the right of way to get to it. I’m not sure if the gas company owns the right of way, or the land owners on either side do. Tax maps seem to imply the gas company owns the land, but not sure. My friend never had an issue getting to his property, he just walks down the right of way. But given that I’m not the owner of the 50 ac, and would rarely hunt it with him; I wanted to make sure traveling on right of ways is actually permissible Thanks
  11. there are plenty of large bucks down here...problem is many of them live in neighborhoods with 1/2 ac. lots or along side highways...they are unhuntable. but there are still a good number of large deer that are huntable, it just take many days in the woods and many different spots need to be checked before you can find them
  12. Not while that are working...while they are working they provide a valuable and often times dangerous service. I only wish they worked to 65..if they can no longer work do to illness or injury. .then retire on disability. But if they retire in their 4o's or 50' they are no better then the normal welfare scum. Just my opinion This was fun...but needs to end...it's a hunting site...some don't like political debates here...I said my last on this topic for now Best regard A bitter taxpayers. Ps. ... live long and prosper..I'm glad I made enough to support you
  13. Whiteman welfare is what the old timers called government work.. I have lots of relatives that are cops and fireman...BTW my fireman uncles..now retired called there jobs 'dozing for dollars' My intent is not really convince you of anything...I just want others to know in addition to welfare parasites. ..others are screwing them just as bad
  14. If you wrestle with a pig sooner or later you learn the pig is enjoying itself. ..maybe I'm the pig!...not you!...enjoy your white man's welfare
  15. Desk ornament? - I'm much more then that, i'm a loafer, slacker and all around goof off. But i'm quite good at it and quite good at making $$$ but most importantly, i'm a tax payer that is tired of paying NYS high taxes. NYS is what it is. It won't change so I'll move. but pretty soon, many the productive folks are going to leave. who will contribute to then? As I see it, a retired civil servant collecting a pension and not working for his/her $'s is no different than a welfare receiptient you're right, I am bitter...not jealous...i'm pissed because I've lived here all my life and i'm being forced out because I no longer feel like paying over $80,000 a year in taxes. Some years I pay more than $100K (if I sell something). The harder I work, the more rental properties I have, the more people I employee the more that is taken in taxes. last hint...go out on disability...isn't tax free? i'm done....BOHICA
  16. gald you admit you are lucky. Not many of you do. If I was offered the pensions I would take it...BUT I would know that it would make me feel guilty knowing that my friends/neighbors/family are basically working to support me. good night...enough bashing of public sector unions. peoples opinions are too deeply rooted delve to deep nto this topic. This was rather civil and I thank you all for that. Without a dialog, its hard to understand where others are coming from. to the fireman / police - be safe and thank you for your dedication. but remember that not everyone is as lucky as you are, or will they enjoy the security and leisure time that your collective barginning agreements have granted you.
  17. wow...not jealous, nor a hater. just pointing out a situation that in my opinion is unfair. Plumbers, carpenters, hell US Soldiers don't get what PD/FD get. personally, I turned down a job with the NYPD about 25 years ago. my number was 585 (if I remember right).... I took all the test, physical and other BS...They called me and I said no. ..about 35K took the test. they were paying roughly 25K back then...I was making more then double that at the time. I have made more working in privatre industry, then I wouild have as cop. I've also saved enough and made sound investments. I own multipel rental properies. I'll sell everyting and be fine when i leave NY. HOWEVER...I was very lucky. Again I was very lucky. most aren't lucky. ever see a roofer in his 50's...they can barly walk...but they will be roofing for another 15 years...just to make it to 65. if you are a PO/FM and can't function, you can alway retire on disability...isn't that better for you...isn't it tax free? Hell my brother in-law (retired NYC Fireman, put so much white powered up his nose, he retired with bad sinus)...he gets 85K a year tax free..only 45 years old...spends most his time in FLA in strip clubs. again, I don't hate any of you nor i'm I jealous, but you are very lucky to work until you are 45 and then collect $'s for another 30. Just admit it...you won the workers lottery! unlike you, I admit that my success was based on not only my mind/hard work but to a large extent just being DAMM LUCKY.
  18. Agree about volunteer fd..I'm talking paid civil servants..and this was about new cars for police...really is a minor issue...if they truly need new cars they will get them...I just hope some paid cops/firefighters see this. ..they have a important and at many times dangerous job...bu the their early retirements are breaking their tax paying friends/neighbors...just let them retire at 65 like the rest of us
  19. So no new toy/equipment then...so sad
  20. No I said or intended to say...buy all the new stuff that is needed...just enjoy it for a few more years...just work to 65 like the rest of us jerks...I mean tax payers...imagine all the new toys...all the time you'll get to use them....win/win...no?
  21. I agree that cops and fireman can have all the new equipment they want, when they want. If they agree to retire or start collecting their pensions at 65 years old...deal?
  22. maybe..maybe I misread it. But having many military members in my family and many cops/fireman as well...it’s a running augment when my police/fireman family members call themselves non-civilian. The military family members don't seem to like it. I just feel a Civilian is anyone not in the military.
  23. not sure i understand..Police are not the same that's for sure. police are generally more educated, higher paid and I would assume more professional...but the cars are basically the same as you stated. just staying if a taxi can last 500K miles, a cop car can last 200K. no need to get rid of cop cards at 125K miles
