Thanks. Best we have had a Cam since I started hunting. Phade saw him in spring and during season but was tagged out. I never saw him in person.

This was my stud but also a deer of the past

It’s great that you have a successful livestock business FSW. I am not sure why you feel the need to impress everyone with speculation of how wildly successful you are but to each his own I guess. Most successful people try to keep that quiet except Trump. Perhaps if you post your tax returns and we all will all pitch in on a business to start raising Deer. But presently we need to guess regarding the significant money you make in the business based on tid bits of information and innuendo. If your response is it’s none of our business how much a Deer farmer makes, I agree. But you seem to be inviting it for whatever reason. Most truly successful people that I know don’t invite such inquiry. I tend to believe it’s a niche group that want to “hunt” a farm raised deer so don’t see that huge future you do but I am not in the business. Hope you get you hands on the million dollar stud. I know of a few people that tried to do the same with horses that went broke but there are success stories I guess. And some people win mega millions too . $1 and a dream.

FSW You never answered, is that one of the bucks on your farm?
-
Yes about 1/2 way up roast. Good deal. Thanks TF.

Ok so question: i smokec it yesterday for 3 hours on 210 and then in the crock pot in low for another 3-4hours. When I Checked it before bed, it was already falling apart. Decided to turn it off and turned it back on low this morning. Smells amazing but can I over cook pulled pork? Wondering if I should turn it to warm after a few more hours. Just don’t want it to be mushy. This is a 7lb shoulder if that matters.

You trouble maker... lol

No biggie. I don’t think anyone claimed this buck is free range. Be cool if there is one that big walking around somewhere.

The article is about a free range Deer shot in Tennessee in 2016 that scored 312”. The one I mentioned earlier that Larry’s cousins buddy killed. It’s not about the Deer that the OP posted which is much bigger. Look at the photo of the rack in the article in comparison the the one posted.

Pretty close to the new Grampy blind. Ha

About a mile from one property I hunt. http://www.whec.com/news/bear-spotted-near-pittsford-schools/4941839/?cat=565 they are creeping up this way slowly.

Thanks Bob. It was you that gave me the idea with the pulled pork in Canada!

So I plan to make some pulled pork for my father's BDay party tomorrow. My thought is to season and smoke the pork butt tonight for a couple of hours, refrigerate and then throw it in the crock pot all day tomorrow with a can of rootbeer. Drain, add sauce and good to go. 1. Should I cold smoke the butt or put it on low heat (170-180ish)? 2. Crock pot on high or low (assume low as it will sit for 10 hours or so)? 3. Any other suggestions that I may be missing? Thanks to all the master chefs.

I recall when you texted me the field photo. Crazy.

Henry .22 Fireman’s commemorative

I was a member there for a year. Its a great facility but too crowded when I went. That said, now that you have all the time in the world, I suspect you can find times when you have the range to yourself. Plus, it has the indoor pistol range that you will likely use even if only to rapid fire that lever action! By the way, it has an archery range too. Now that I think of it, if you join let me know. I may restart my membership and tag along. -
Ok ok it’s better than a stick in the eye...... really cool

Now that’s funny!

Mowin while I understand your point, that buck is far bigger than the nontypical world record which is 312”. Bet my house it ain’t free range. A free range buck like that would be well publicized.

He’s mounted quite a few freaks:

Yes much better view of the palmated triple split drop tine. Kinda makes your average booner look a bit sad.
-
I would mention to Danny that a slight turn of the head might make the rack appear a bit bigger.

CZs are great rifles. -
Could mount $20,000 on the wall with a photo of the live buck - look what I saved on this hunt! See what trigger restraint can do.
-
Another instance of OVERESTIMATING Antler size. That buck is in the low 380s max!
