  1. Heavy arrows arent really required with a compound especially targeting whitetail. But I Figured someone here would have done some elk or moose hunting with heavy arrows with a trad bow. I have heard 900-1000g is not unheard of.
  2. Trying to decide on optics. Don’t want something to heavy on that 110lb rifle.
  3. That thread the other day made me nervous. We were talking about squirrels right? I have a .950 JDJ coming for deer season.
  4. Well then good plan on copying Jared Phade.
  5. I know some like lighter arrows for flatter trajectory. I tend to like heavy arrows especially with trad bows. Quiet and tons of momentum. So I was messing around tonight with my fastest recurve and loaded it up with a 947g arrow. It shot great with reasonable speed for a single string bow. Not sure I will go that heavy for hunting (usually between 650-700) but what is the heaviest arrow you have hunted with? I see little downside to extra weight in the ranges I shoot. 947 would be perfect for moose!
  6. Same magazine and lower. Pop two pins and replace entire upper (bolt carrier, bolt, barrel and handguard). One of the cool things about ARs. i will post a pic later for you Moho. Two uppers and one lower.
  7. And I copied jerkmans build in process. Thanks buddy! So cool that both of those rounds cycle from the same magazine.
  8. Should be skinned and dressed on contact.
  9. You don't need to know basketball to know which team is seeded higher. Its stated on the brackets. You definitely do not need to be an avid fan of NCAA basketball to win one of these.
  10. Never mind me, my wife would absolutely love the blood and gore. We would likely have to redecorate our house in a more gothic theme to be consistent with the mount.
  11. At least you found him Larry. What brand of camera is that in the photo. Looks enormous.
  12. Yep and guess who is without an admin tomorrow (and hopefully longer). lol
  13. Since Trae Young is my admin's nephew, I am really pulling for Oklahoma, but they are a true long shot. Most teams figured out that if you shut him down, you can/will win. Need some depth to win the big one!
  14. Clueless usually wins these things.
  15. In order to be consistent with op, thoughts on shooting running Deer with a 223? Lol
  16. I have to get out and shoot some with the 223 and see what the results are. I have bullets ranging from 50-64g and two different length barrels (short 18 and long 24) both 1/8. I will report back if the weather ever breaks. lol
  17. You will like the alternative even less. Kinda like your spear hunting adventures if you know what I mean. Lol
  18. Woods and then stop by Nomads when you want some water.
  19. Don't remember John but it was an internet search related to twist rates. I know the majority agree with you. This author claimed it was hogwash. I guess your experience (at least with 223) confirms its not. I generally try to stick with the rate that is the "do it all" rate for the particular caliber if I can but tend to use heavier bullets anyways. I was researching the 308 barrel twist rates as my AR is 1/10 vs many that are 1/11.25. The comment may have been more applicable to larger calibers.
