  1. I hope so buddy. Anytime in Oct or Nov would be great!
  2. Maybe I should hunt there. Dodging traffic may be a bit problematic!
  3. I am going to take you up on that Bob. Let me blow some purchased rounds and we can reload the same brass! Dies are cheap in comparison to the loaded rounds. Thanks buddy!
  4. So tempted to join you Grampy, but I don't think I have the time for another hobby! Enjoy. I may have to stop by and have you load some 458 socom at some point. lol
  5. No family tradition so I started on my own late in life because I liked shooting guns and liked venison. I decided before my first season if I was going to gun hunt, I might as well learn to shoot a bow and have a longer season. Little did I know, I would fall in love with bow hunting and am addicted to single string bows now. Thankfully hunting with Phade shortened the learning curve tremendously. Treeguy has given me the push on coyote hunting too. The members of this site and hunting beast have taught me tons too! It helps to hunt deer dense areas as lots of opportunities makes one a better hunter (or at least killer when the opportunity arises) IMO. 6 seasons and 31 deer, I feel like I am starting to get the hang of it but still plenty more to learn. Turkeys remain my nemesis. I still think I am more likely to kill a bigfoot or chupacabra before a darn turkey. lol
  6. I shoot daily and leave them strung. But strings will stretch a bit and then settle. Keep track of the BH. If the string is older and stretching after being steady at a certain BH, its time for a new string DB. I would not worry about leaving a bow strung. They can stay strung decades without ill effects.
  7. I am sure your father is right there with on April 1 and always Rob!
  8. 21yds but trust me most groups don’t look that good.
  9. Basically it’s finding the right spine, tip weight and length of arrow, adjusting nock height and BH. Ilf bows have more tuneability with changing centershot and tiller too.
  10. It’s one of them Rob. I ended up springing for 2. Admittedly stick bows are my vice. The black and white Ebony (one I asked opinions on) will be here shortly. This is cocobolo with spalted maple limbs. Basically the same bows with different woods and a few lbs difference in DW.
  11. Thanks Dave. You know better than anyone that I was struggling and it took me 3-4 months to find that old groove with the lower anchor. But it’s becoming more automatic again. I was just too stubborn to give up. Lol. High anchor just isn’t for me. Amazing how complicated shooting a stupid bow can be.
  12. Lol. I have lots of robin hoods. Penalty for being lazy. It happens.
  13. Thanks. I will admit I don’t always shoot this well but I am back to being pretty darn consistent thankfully and I do shoot widows well. Takes lots of work to a willingness to be frustrated at times shooting fingers. Lol
  14. Tuned! Feeling real good about my shooting again after a tough dry spell. Had to go back to my earlier lower anchor. Took me a few days to get the bareshafts hitting perfect with fletched but no more tweaking. If I miss, it ain’t the tune.
  15. Biz have a great 17th Birthday.
  16. Good for you Larry. Now what to do with all that free time. Hmmmm
  17. And right on schedule, jerkman picked him up in front of the prison. Armed with a 458 SOCOM and box of chocolates, they drove directly to ....

    Almost home .

    Looks great Gman
  19. I understand. The dragonfly takes immense skill and can be frustrating to some lesser artists. lol
  20. If you have lost a step, you must have started 3 steps ahead of everyone else Dave! You almost closed the deal on that buck from the ground in the wide open (well except all the downed branches you carefully and quietly maneuvered through). It was awesome to watch. Talk about being cool as a cucumber.
  21. I better still be hunting at 77 Eddie. Heck I just got started! And call your sons to drag, you earned it!
  22. He is now in the pokey charged with safe act violations. Likely retribution for his comments.
