  1. What do you mean Dan. I thought you were doing the porky driving while I sit on post!
  2. Ancient technique. They move fast so it’s not easy.
  3. Going to PA to hunt porcupine. We are doing drives so here’s hoping.
  4. No, I am simply retiring from hunting. It’s too easy anyways. Time to renew interest in MENSA riddles.
  5. Love to but Duke shot our last buck. We are devoid of deer
  6. Definitely looks sold. Probably overkill for an ATV but really nice.
  7. Culver was the engineer. I was just labor. It’s sold and was a lot of work.
  8. Can’t find a pic but will post one when I am out there next. 10” creek will be a big span. You will need sturdy cross members.
  9. That’s the big fear. Wasn’t so much for us as our creek never gets near the height of the top of the bank.
  10. Leave spacing between 2x10 for snow and water. I spaced them 4” apart. I also built up some guardrails about 6” high with 4x4” just so ATV wouldn’t accidentally veer off. My daughter got a bit nervous without the guardrails as it was 5’ wide for a 4’ wide ATV. Seems plenty but not a lot of extra room.
  11. Building a culvert is another option but it’s a big pipe you will need.
  12. Culver calculated the load and it took at least 6x6” pressure treated for cross members and even that was questionable. My recollection is that we would need 3 6x6 15’ long. . That’s why we used the big oak tree.
  13. I will say my creek bed was 5’ below so no fear of washout.
  14. @Culvercreek hunt club helped me build a bridge for such a crossing. Used a 14” diameter oak to span both sides (approx 15’ span). Then used pressure treated 2x10 spaced out for the bridge. Worked well. Dig out where cross pieces sit and put 2x10 pressure treated below so tree is not sitting on dirt. Used chainsaw to flatten cross pieces as needed. The oak is freaking heavy!
  15. Not a fly fisherman. Does snagging, I mean a foul hook count. Lol

    Shot Help

Fixed blade or mechanical. I recall shooting a doe with a fixed blade slick trick that just kept feeding until she fell over but it wasn’t long. If she ain’t busting out on a mechanical, I am betting it was a clean miss. But you will know soon. Good luck.
  17. I pound steaks to about 1/4” and then make cutlets with flour, salt and pepper. Those then go back into sauce after being browned in olive oil with butter. , Sauce has sweet peppers, hot peppers, garlic, onion, fresh tomato, some crushed tomatoes, wine, balsamic vinegar, basil, oregano, salt and crushed red pepper. Serve over angel hair. I am stuffed! most recipes have mushroom but that’s a no go for Natalie.
  18. You live in Rochester. I would figure even a Mayo face would have tried it. No one ever cooked it at the station? I am shocked.
  19. Oh man was that good. Trying to convince my son he could like venison, my daughter and I teamed up to make steak pizzaiola with venison. It was outstanding and even my doubting son loved it. Good option to initiate the venison doubters. Sorry forget to take a pic. But seriously give it a go with your favorite pizzaiola recipe.
  20. What do you think the useful range is for both identification and shooting?
  21. I still keep a few pair of z cavalricci around just in case
  22. More importantly Jay, do you still have the stonewashed jeans?
