  1. For sale is a like new Tromix 458 Socom upper. Those familiar with 458 socom know that Tromix is the absolute best maker of this upper. It includes the upper with a 16” stainless barrel, bcg, upgraded linear compensator that reduces felt recoil by 50%, 2 special 458 mags and 69 rounds of Xcaliber ammo. Also included is a thread protector if you want to go featureless. The upper cost me $800 and the ammo and compensator were another $200 plus. If you have an AR15 lower, this is everything needed to go hunt. 325g at 1740fps will put down deer quick. This ammo held a 2” group for me at 100yds. It’s a very nimble gun and recoil is less than my 20gauge. Willing to sell the whole package for $750 plus shipping. Scope and mount not included but negotiable.
  2. Both seem pretty easy. The photo quality is slightly better with browning when blowing up the pic and it offers option to resend in HD. Phade can explain differences better but browning allows you to batch send photos as often and when you want. That saves batteries although both are set to immediate send now and they ran the full season. Tactacam is cheaper. The browning has more options with a slightly better photo. Is it worth 2x as much, not to me. Tactacam did everything I needed and is cheaper.
  3. Isnt that the duck that Lomax's son was trying to kill. They rarely come this far south if I recall. Never mind. King Eider but doesn't look the same
  4. You are welcome to borrow my win sxp if you want to pick it up in Webster.
  5. Here is another night pic from tactacam which I just realized is the buck I shot in gun. Lol
  6. I should note that the top pic is a blow up of the original photo and that is why it is pixelated.
  7. Some sample pics. Top 2 are tactacam, bottom are browning.
  8. So I ran 3 of each of these this year split between two properties. I have to say, I was impressed. I started with 4 brownings but one had an issue and although it was replaced by browning, I never got out to set the replacement. Otherwise, they all ran without problem. Pictures are decent - not something that will make the cover of national geographic but plenty good enough to know whether you have a target buck. And all are still running on their first set of batteries installed the last week of September - not sure the exact number of pictures but its in the thousands. I think the subscription ran me about $90/mo for all the cameras with unlimited pics. Since I am only running them 3 months, its not a bad outlay. At the price point, they are both solid options. And I am no IT guru so if I can run them, anyone can. I will likely collect them all as soon as I am out of quarantine and store them until next season. Appreciate Phade's help in getting me set up this year.
  9. I thought 60yd shots are the norm for the top 1%. So confusing. But I respect your decision to stay within comfortable ranges.
  10. When you are in the top 1%, no further explanation is needed Law.
  11. I suspect most here can. I learned how to use a clutch on a Kawasaki kx80 as a kid and my first car was standard. But I would bet very few of my sons generation can drive one. Heck even sports cars are paddle shift now. No need to learn to use a clutch.
  12. Larry if that’s a reference to me, I don’t wear those under a jacket. I don’t wear a jacket. Wool base layer, hoodie and fanatic vest 90% of the colder hunts. If it’s colder than that I can just wear a base layer and my first lite cold weather jacket. Lower is base layer and either stratus or fabric bibs depending on temps. havent used the first lite heavier jacket yet this year.
  13. wasn't real friendly either … like I said, stick to dogs
  14. I used to have a white throat monitor as a pet when I was younger. It was about 5' long. One day it escaped and I didn't realize it until my father's neighbors called and said a giant lizard ran into our front bushes. I suspect they also thought they were losing their minds. lol And for the record, they really are not great pets.
  15. The titans were cheap post season (like $60 on ebay for 50% off) and will do the job Dave. I wouldn't want to walk miles in them but to a stand or blind, they are fine. Wait until January and you will find them on a major discount.
  16. Once again, irrefutable proof of your bowhunting prowess! Love it.
  17. Mine are the titan rubber model. They are about 2" bigger when comparing the footprint to my mucks (same size 14) but they feel even bigger. Might just be because of the removeable insert which is very warm and soft. So it feels a bit like you are walk on a mattress. If its really cold though, I have not found a warmer boot.
  18. Never seen a porcupine here either. May be a very hungry fisher with virtually no turkey or porcupine. lol
