  1. Possibly but dying in the water is a strong indicator. Beautiful buck.
  2. Did you check the holes in the buck? Was he at least shot twice?
  3. Next time call immediately before tracking on his land. That would have prevented your concern here. I hope you are wrong as that is pretty bad to steal your neighbors buck.
  4. Bow season I have killed most of my bucks in the AM. But gun season I have killed all my bucks in the PM. Now maybe that’s partly a self fulfilling prophesy as I hunt less mornings after opening day. But I tend to think that afternoon is better for bucks in gun. Does are a toss up.
  5. Those are the days you shoot one. I was texting Culver shortly before I killed my gun buck that the day started as a crap show. I forgot my pack, my tags and sling so it was guaranteed I would kill a buck. You are on your way buddy. Lol
  6. Hang in there Jay. You will get over this soon!
  7. I would pin it with a 10 round mag and use a 5 round limiter.
  8. Never been stopped but when a gunsmith pins the mag to make it legal, they usually epoxy over the screw head. I am sure you will be fine.
  9. Walk the dog. Deer get accustomed to it and it may make them less spooky for hunting.
  10. Yep, I find that at my one property located in the middle of big Ag, brassicas are not hit at all during season. At my other property, they will eat brassicas from august through the entire season and dig the bulbs up late season. Matter of preferred food source.
  11. This guy literally snuck up behind me without me knowing. I turned to look behind and it sounded like the Kentucky derby at the bell as he bolted. I quickly saw a rack and hustled to turn around in the stand, holding the tree with my left arm and pulling up to shoot the shotgun with my right. As he ran, he cut behind the stand giving me a 60-70yd ish broadside shot which I took one handed with the rifle quickly rested on a bow hanger. Didn’t quite have the gun well shouldered and paid the price but it was a good double lunger. Exciting few seconds. Not a huge rack, decent mass but short tined. Dressed at 177.2 less the gambrel so call him 175. Good end to a season with far less hours in the stand than normal. Forgot my tags so I had to head home and Natalie happily returned with me for the recovery. Maybe it’s time to shoot a doe. With the little time I had, I didn’t want to waste it on a doe so far. But if I get out again, the girls should beware.
  12. That trespasser is skinny but wiry strong. Don’t get too close to him.
  13. So was I Biz. You had to be there. Surprised I put a good shot on him.
  14. Lol. Looks worse than it is. One handed with 20g should be shouldered. Double lung though. It will heal. Happy daughter!
  15. Decent 8/9pt with broken g3 bit the dust. Snuck up on me and I didn’t know he was directly behind me until I moved and I heard him running away. Scoped myself in the rush to shoot him and hold on to tree while turning around. Lol. But perfect shot. Honestly wasnt sure how big he was as it happened really fast but no complaints. Fun hunt with Treeguy.
  16. Congrats. Wish I was closer. Get a rope. Way easier than grabbing legs.
