  1. I don't really think a season would exist in SI. I would love one since it would be so a quick ride to a hunting spot and I could hunt in my cousins backyards lol! Although there are many hunters in Staten Island.
  2. Sorry for your lose.
  3. Nice pics so far! Cant wait to see what comes up next. I actually have a pic of a buck breeding a doe if your interested in it.
  4. I was always told that you should frost seed when there is still a little snow on the ground so the snow will help settle the seeds in the soil.
  5. Man was that poorly written. I thought they were the "educated" ones. Good job by the way Mike!
  6. Happy birthday! Hope you have a great one. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Id love to get a Winchester 1873 one day! I don't really care about what caliber it is.
  8. Awesome pics guys! Federals 3rd degree is basically hevi shot mag blends, but with lead instead of hevi-shot.
  9. What gun do you plan to use for turkey season? Also what shells do you plan on using this season? I'm going to be using a Mossy 535 with hevi shot mag blend shells. Post some pics of you have them.
  10. Awesome mount! That's a really nice mulie too.
  11. I'm guessing its because the ATF wanted to ban 223 ball ammo so it drove up the prices of all 223 ammo.
  12. What gun range was this? Gun ranges usually charge more for ammo then stores anyway.
  13. Well from what I see the Chestnut was in the eastern elk range so I would guess they had a huge impact. As far as I know chestnuts are more beneficial and nutritious then acorns, as well as producing a stable crop.
  14. Ive seen them already. A little odd but appreciated none the less.
  15. I think that a 30-06 would be good enough. Like he post said, guides would rather have someone with an 06 that can accurately shoot it than some one with a 375 who can't hit a thing. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. I can't wait to get my hands on some when they are done!
  17. They are coming up with blight resistant strains of the American chestnut so hopefully one day they'll reach their former glory.
  18. Yup sanded the striker as well. I didn't sand it all that much, but it left some sawdust on the sand paper so i figured it was good.
  19. So I have a Primos crystal and i'm having a problem conditioning it. I conditioned at the end of last spring but when I pulled it out yesterday to check if it was ok and it wouldn't make a peep. Ill admit that i forgot exactly how to sand it and I ended up sanding it in circles instead of back and forth. I used 80 grit paper and roughed it up a bunch but now when I use the call, it makes some type of squeaking sound as well as a really raspy yelp. Is the call done for or can I save it?
  20. What VJP said. The elk sent to New Zealand were the eastern elk because they generally had bigger antlers and had more points/non typical antlers when compared to the Rocky Mountain elk. I heard they released eastern elk back into Quebec wilderness. Although they aren't full elk but instead have some red deer in their blood. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. Well I know that deer will hit clover and chicory for most of October and then shift towards corn and other late season foods come November. How big is your food plot going to be? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. The birds are going nuts by me. I haven't heard them in months. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. It would be awesome to have them but I doubt NY will release them in the next 5 to 10 years. I'd love to see them and especially now that my hunting area is in one of the high habitat areas. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. I personally would love to see elk reintroduced into NY but I fear it wouldn't be possible. Elk are naturally grazers but which can cause problems but I believe we have enough grasses grown to support them though I doubt the farmers will like that much. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
