  1. Make sure the property is posted and call the local DEC officer. If you can print out a picture and give it to him...he may know who they are and might give some insight with how to deal with them. Its painfully obvious what they were doing and they should be ticketed for it. If they didn't have a gun with them, I would think they are setting up for a kid but they would still be trespassing. My advise would be to talk to them in a very nice and respectful tone but at the same time be stern. It would amaze you how being respectful can help you, even though they disrespected you by trespassing and trying to hunt on your land out of season.
  2. Wow thats a great improvement! Especially for the cost of only 20 bucks.
  3. Congrats on the deer! Your defiantly hooked now.
  4. Thought id post the gun i plan on using for turkey season. Went out to the range to pattern my gun and lets just say that the black was pretty white after I was done with it. Only took 2 shots to pattern it.
  5. What tirkey feathers said! Some days they'll gobble a bunch and sometimes they wont. Did you try calling to them?
  6. They can be depending if there is a flash or if it smells like human. Sometimes they notice it and get nervous...you never know.
  7. On average how many times do you call to a turkey? Normally I call like 5 or 6 times before I can see the turkey but I have only called in a few birds.
  8. Almost ready. Going to pattern my shotgun tomorrow.
  9. Wooly is right! Some states require you to bring the ORIGINAL hunter safety course certificate in order to buy a license.
  10. Only a couple weeks away and hes a dead gobbler!
  11. I have to say, I didn't expect to see so many against decoys. I was thinking of only bringing one or two hen decoys but now i'm not sure.
  12. Seems like it would be really bad in the wind. I also would feel safe in that thing, but hey thats just me.
  13. Do you prefer to have decoys or not, while turkey hunting? I always used decoys but I never knew what I was doing so I never got to see how a turkey reacted to them. I called in two gobblers last year with out them and they hung up around 30 yards, wondering where the sounds came from. I wasn't able to shoot but man it was a rush. 14. Got a late start on it this year, but I just cleaned most of the old tomato plants and pruned most of my fig trees. My peach trees are about to blossom with some starting to show the pink flowers. Hopefully I'll prune my grape vine tomorrow. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Looks like a great product. I only hunt from the ground during turkey season but this would make it more comfortable then sitting on the ground.
  16. Looks like you have your work cut out for you Curmudgeon. If you ever need another hunter, you know who to contact haha just kidding.
  17. There are deer as far west as Alley Pond park in Queens NYC. They are not there every year but are there some years. They are defiantly in oyster bay and probably Mutton town.
  18. From what I have been told, wine from NY is become more and more popular, so maybe they are planting more wine grapes. I don't know about you guys, but I find wine grapes to be just as good eating as "eating" grapes. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. From what I hear they love buck wheat. They may not hit it hard the first year it's planted but be sure that they will the next year. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
