They are a little work, but for $30-50 yotes, I will skin them!! -

I do not like the blood in the head area. It is harder to clean off the fur and you get bone fragments. But I am talking trapping and a close shot thru the lungs ends it without the blood mess. When we are calling or running them with hounds, any shot I can get works. -

I skin, so I do not do any head shots. If you dont skin then maybe -

Depends on what you are shooting for a gun. Through the lungs or heart with a smaller caliber. -
Good job. Trade ya a rabbit hunt for a hound and yote hunt.
-
If they catch a coyote on bare ground then I have top $$$ hounds..lol. I dont run sight hounds or Stags or greys. They will catch them when the snow is deep, but the snow is usually melting down by then and in the summer nothing.
-
Yes. Training season starts July 1-April 15
-
I run yotes until mid April. The only time they are really using dens is a few weeks before having pups.
-
CHASE THESE
-
Because I will wait for spring rats an mink. The k9 sets are hard to keep working when a foot of snow keeps dumping on them.
-
2 feet of fresh stuff here. Had to dodge deer all over this morning.
-
Great time of year for them. Cold has them moving and mating season is upon them...fur is selling real well also.
-
I also get it Grow. Very informative...but other fur has dropped. Coon really fell. Coyotes, fisher.
-
No bottoming out on fox. They are paying really well.
-
We kill between 40-60..some years more every year and never..ever..have a lack of them. Always seem to find a couple every weekend to run and go back the next year and start all over again.
-
Not sure up there, but we were down for several years around here. I have noticed this year they are plentiful.
-
They have been fishing up this way and north of me.
-
This was at Jefferson county Fur Harvesters last Saturday.

How many are aware of this law?
HOUNDS77 replied to nyantler's topic in Small Game and Predator Hunting
I USE TO HATE THIS ONE... I run coyotes with hounds. I live in the NZ where rifles have been legal to use for deer hunting. But if I ran hounds I had to get a special permit to carry my rifle. In the SZ when rifles could not be used during deer season then I did not need the permit for hunting coyotes with hounds...glad they tossed that law.
