yeah i would have been introuble lol its all fixed now but i am looking into getting a new bow on order soon... ive been thinking about it for awhile now but this is like an omen lol, someone is telling to buy it and pull the trigger
-
took the bow out shooting over a month ago, which is kind of late for me... been shooting a few times a week with no issues. i noticed about a week ago my guide line started wearing out a bit through the serving and i decided to take the bow in to snithpoint to get is replaced, My buddy dave was more then helpful and took me in on the spot and replaced. I shot a few arrows at 40 yards yesterday hitting right on. On my 5th arrow i heard an odd slap sound and the arrow flew over the target. upon inspection i saw the guide line was off the roller guard on my Mathews. It looked like the line needed a serving so i took it back to Dave and he served the line. I took 1 shot and my drop away rest didnt disengage cause the line didn't unlock it on full draw, so that blew off and broke. he fixed that for me and i took a few shots made a few adjustments and i seem good to go. this stuff never happens to me, especially this close to the season lol.. just the things we face, its all what you make of it tho. id rather do this crap now then have a nice deer step out and something goes wrong. i dial her in pretty quick after these changes so im not worried. figured id share...

no prob dude, i didnt take is as an attack anyways. things through text can be misinterpreted

i carry the bottle on me when i go in also so when i look down and see them give em an extra spray. but when i just spray it on and not re apply when i see them on me i watch them and they always tend to either move around a min or drop off. i dont think you chiggers are any different then the ones i get on my pants lol. but try bringing the bottle in with you. w hat do you use the sawyer and durannon permetherine spray?

i think as hunters it goes without saying that some times shots are not the greatest and even with the greatest of all shots the expire time can be prolonged given the degree of the hit or the fight left in the animal, I AM PRETTY SURE WE ALL GET THAT... However if you as a hunter have a chance to finish what you started because sometimes deer clear some distances very fast and we dont always get the chance that i get BUT if you did have the chance doing the right thing and finishing it off is what these guys i beleive are talking about. i am sure we are all aware that it takes a bit for some game to expire we get it. Its just doing what we could to speed the process up is the important thing, whether it be not taking ass shots or taking a followup shot. gun or bow...

like i said before i dont think he finished that pig off with his dog running around and going after the pig, that would be almost as dumb as shooting the pig in the ass... and i never said you condone shooting a deer with a .22, i asked and you answer with a question LOL. only reason is because if you think there is nothing abnormal about shooting any animal in the ass i figured you wouldnt find anything wrong with that since you can pile a deer up very quick that was also... No reason to get defensive man you are ok with a THS and that is fine. im not changing you mind nor am i trying. i personally think its a BS shot offer and i would never consider taking it, even if i am watching that 170 class deers ass while hes walking away. call me straight but hittin things in the butt has never been my forte LOL... no offense...
-
oh and dont get me wrong, im not stating that a THS wont drop a deer in a hurry. i know for a fact many guys do it and pile a deer up faster then anything. Iam just saying and BTW my words dont carry much weight but its my opinion, i am saying that its a horrible shot to take. Not to mentions what a damn mess you have to clean after taking that shot lol. you would have to be a desperate individual to contemplate a THS with no other options apparently.
-
your right, you can also shoot a deer in the head and drop it with a .22 rim fire But do you condone it?
-
your right judging the length of the video i for one can not 100% say he did not take a follow up shot but i will point out that with the laughing going on in the background and the dog running around the pig do you think majority can say there was no follow up shot? Do you think this inbred took a followup shot with his dog running around that pig? i dont think so... and i know for a fact i personally never made a statement of myself not making a bad shot on game, not saying your pointing me out but i specifically stated in my last post that if given the chance to do the right thing and i was able to take an animal out on a followup, i would and always will...
-
this may not be by true definition a texas heart shot but the intent was more then there! the problem is the THS was attempted when there was no need to hit the pig there. If there is a need to attempt a shot like that then you better revamp and come up with an extra strategy to define a better shot thats my opinion.

shots like this are crap... if you have a calm animal wait for him to turn broadside. you shoot your game in the ass thats your own deal, do it and lough and not have the decency to followup a 2nd shot and your a jackass... im sure we all have put crap shots on game before, its what we do after that separates us from guys like this. i will not watch a deer or any animal suffer from my own doing with out me trying to do the right thing after. i have never shot a deer badly and had one stick around that i could have done something about BUT DIDNT

i deff have to make my way over there! looks like fun -
I would like to shoot this hunter in the A$$ if you ask me... This is a prime example of what not to do, one to the animal and two we all know it just adds fuel to the already engulfed flame of the ANTI fire... Pathetic clip... not a big fan of these shots and this hunter owed that animal a second shot!
