I really need to have a stand on our land and another part of the farm like I used to . -
Happy Birthday ,Belo . In honor of the day, I’ll take Mrs Nomad to the Naples area to view colorful leaves and have lunch , while secretly wishing all the leaves would fall off the trees so I can see the deer while on stand .

Venison meatloaf , baked potato and acorn squash, Mrs always has a good hot meal and cold beers ready for my return from an afternoon hunt .

This is some sort of “pump” that was running in the field I wanted to hunt , there’s at least one mile of this pipe running from the manure lagoon to where they were working . There’s two or three of them pumping in relay and 5 or6 trucks and machinery working in the fields , not conductive to deer movement I guess lol . Saw zippo till I bumped two on the far side of woods on walk out -

Well the smell and noise isn’t bothering the turkeys , got a bunch at 40 yards hanging out making turkey noises. Edit they just shut the pump down , all quite now . -

Plan B . They’re injecting manure into the fields , there’s a good mile of hose going from the manure lagoon to where they’re working. As luck would have it there’s a pump machine running in the 14 acre field I was going to sit on . So I moved into the woods inside corner not far from my original spot . Killed both my bucks from this stand last year . -

Off to the red spot, corner of cut beans , black line is a bush hogged path they enter the field in. Above the line is the hardwoods , below is a very thick area . Yellow spot is a stand I’ve killed a number of bucks out of including a nice ten point in bow a few years back , trouble is they often hug the thicket side, hence the new stand I’ll be in .- 8220 replies

I keep a $50 tru ball strapped to my bow ( when not on my wrist ) , it’s one of two releases I’ve owned in 30 years of bow hunting . I shot my first compound fingers , I should try that with my present bow, just to see , hard to loose them . -
Well now I certainly hope these work out ..... They should and considering $12.50 would be about the tax on some Surefires , it’s worth it I feel . Ya CR123 batteries in stores will run $6-$12 bucks , most people just by one for a camera and think they’re some rare and special battery . Fun fact although there’s dozens of brands of them ,there’s only like 2or 3 manufacturers, so they’re all basically the same battery . Well Tc, it’s orange to help you out .

Generally if it’s beans one year it’s corn the next, and they turn over the ground soon after the harvest . Some fields lately have been no till beans though . I’ve got green fields all along the north side , and alternating ,cut beans, cut corn and green fields on the other farm on my south side . East and west of me cut and standing beans . The East side is no till beans . Not bring a farmer or knowing much about it , I just hope I pick the right tree ! -

I’ll be on stand this afternoon, corner of a freshly cut bean field. I want to sit there before they plow up the ground . -
To register your AR as a NFA, other then the cost and paperwork , they’re currently six months behind ,without millions upon millions of new guns being registered. That would push it out years upon years , unworkable plan really . The biggest threat if Biden gets in would be the repeal of the Protection of Lawful Commerce act . This act protects manufacturers from being sued for the illegal use of their product . It’s repeal would bankrupt many manufacturers, and incense the cost of guns to out of reach of many .

I ordered 4 , mostly to have on hand for folks who ask me about good cheap lights . Battery Junction is a very good site, and they don’t sell junk , which is mostly what you’d find at this price point . Run time 45 hours at the low setting , which is more then enough light to walk in and out , 7 hours at 700 lumens is an awesome amount of time and a true 700 out the front lumens will light up any field you may need to search .

That’s a great offer , my days of using climbers are in the past though .

Atomic Fireball, it’s an old school, candy . Many years ago I turned the fellas on to my secret of the deer woods , pop one in your mouth and before it’s gone a deer will come in . There use in bow season is almost as controversial as crossbows ! -

There use is an art , much like calling or rattling . It requires knowing the right time and amount , perhaps Thursday afternoon , I have a couple three year old ones still in my pack . They just cut my little bean field , and it’s not turned over yet , the wind will be right for my one stand next to a trail that enters a corner, they like to come out of . An Atomic Fireball may be all that’s required .
