  1. Single bevel or chisel grind are popular on many knife brands ,Emerson for one along with ,many Japanese kitchen knives . Makes for a stronger edge and only needs half the sharpening .
  2. Same in Roch suburbs. One open, 25 offers all over asking , its open Sunday with all offers taken at 5:00 Tuesday. It’s good if you’re downsizing or leaving the area , but upsizing you just pay way more on your next one .
  3. I’ve always heard not to use use rocks from rivers as they can explode due to water inside cracks and such . I canoe camped a lot ,so we never used rocks from the river .
  4. My peace and love bandanna, throws off the enemy .
  5. Some guys like to sharpen their own knives, the same way some like to make their own arrows , or cut up their own meat . Although I do see the attraction of the Havalon . Actually putting a touch up my my blade the night before opening day is a ritual I look forward to .
  6. I was concerned too, when I first got ladders with mesh seats . I’m a few years in and zero issues, my mesh patio chairs have been outside year round for perhaps ten years now, good as new . I have bought replacement seats for my ladders to have on hand just in case ,they slip on the frame once you remove some bolts and such . Heres the ones I buy the most, much larger beams, large platform , two points of contact and attachment to the tree .
  7. Most makers will put a factory edge back on your knife either for free, or for a few bucks .
  8. I’m all ladder stands now, with one Lone Wolf hang on,I may use every few years . I climb the ladders unattached, and clip to a strap when I get up . The ladders my daughter uses has a safety line she clips to on the ground ,but she didn’t spend 28 years climbing ladders on burning buildings . Hers she doesn’t reattach , no need the line is around the tree high enough .
  9. Here’s one my nephew built for a customer.

  11. Ya I have GERD , I have to watch ,coffee , spices, along with a few other things this really calmed my stomach ,and throat down .
  12. So sense I gained a few with the gym closed five months and me being lazy I put on a few #s, I don’t diet to well so I fasted , From Wednesday nights dinner I didn’t eat till Friday AM, ( 36 hours ) nothing not even sneaked one grape , I was never once hungry. My bloated belly tighten up , today I ate normal yet still was hungry . This was a piece of cake , I’m planning on fasting like this every third or fourth day . Anyone do this ?
  13. Oh no it’s as I bought it from you . This is my “ old bow .” I’m working on wearing the Synergy one down . So grateful for the Synergy ,as I can actually draw a bow again ! Elite or die ! I don’t change anything ever .Well I have changed my body weight ....
  14. Oh I practice . When your string guard looks like this , you know that person shoots a lot .

  16. Reading this post was like Chinese arithmetic.... I just take an arrow to a shop and say give me six more. My quiver has three different arrows with two or three different fletchings and three different broad heads , Mangus stinger plain edge, serrated and Black hornets .

    Beer

I really like this one . Went out on a limb , in trying it, but Deep Purple was my favorite band from my youth , plus I love grape flavored stuff . Very drinkable not, over powering . Just the ticket after hiking the Canyon !
  19. Nice group ! I just cracked a beer and was thinking of lighting a cigar ..... I always stop shooting on a high note as well !
  20. Ya I know from experience. I once used a black plastic like rope , wasn’t 100% reliable. I do, test my equipment ,and am always tightening up the Prusik before and as I climb . When I started bow hunting , I used chunks of 2x4 tied to the tree with clothes line as steps to climb and tied a rope around my waist once up !
  21. Top knife, Old Timer Stockman, my go to field dressing knife , under it Schrade lb7 their Buck 110 clone it’s in semi retirement. Field dressed my first buck in the ‘80 s, gone down the Yukon River with me and many many other adventures, briefly lost it , so now it’s a safe queen . The Puma White Hunter ,I just always wanted , to big for my use , would be good to,break down an animal though . I carry it from time to time just because I can ! The cleaver ,was made for be by a young man in Buffalo, his Dad made me a sweet frontier Hawk as well . It’s mostly ,for zombies , but it may come in handy if a “ protester “ should reach inside my truck . The finger cut is from a hatchet I had just sharpened and accidentally brushed my finger against .
  22. First three today , 18 - 25 ish yards .
  23. I use rope I got when I worked for the FD, and we got new bailout systems , we could keep our old ones, and many gave me theirs . If your “nylon “ rope is static kermantle climbing rope sure , if it’s slippery plastic feeling stuff form Lowe’s , Hell no that can be to slippery for the Prusik or any self tensioning hitch to grab . Also the line you make into a closed loop, then tie into a Prusik needs to be of a smaller diameter ,then the safety line .
  24. Yep those 14 year old Chinese girls don’t build them like they used to . We used to build ladder stands out of pressure treated 4x4, with a platform made of 2x6 ,topped with plywood and put together with carriage bolts . There’s one still leaning against a tree 30 years later .
