By any chance is it similar to ] this one? If so, I have one like it. Mine's just green plastic but the same design. Storing and removing the legs from the base is a pita. Even with the legs stowed, it's a pita to carry. I suppose if you put it inside a backpack it may be ok but I don't use a backpack. It does swivel but it's far from silent when it does. I'm happier leaning against a tree or sitting on a log/stump with my flat foam pad. YMMV

Edit: During dinner, I got to thinking (rare occurrence...) and maybe the guy was just driving along when he saw the scene playing out, which would explain a lot. I withdraw my prior grievance with the Vet.
-
Amazing strength and I'm glad it escaped. But did anyone else think it was pretty stupid on the part of the men? The guy's a Vet and he can't put the deer out? He's got to try and smack the hell out if it with the blunt end of an axe? It's not whack a mole for heaven sake.

that sux.... You have no location filled out, where'd this happen?
-
Cool! Congrats to all!! Well... except for the deer I suppose. ;-)
-
That can be an issue Pygmy, that's why I fashioned a metal clip and attach it to my belt. It stays on pretty securely. Now, if I get up and forget it... that's another issue.

Excellent question! The point being, it would be being HANDLED. It seems like the majority of replies here, surprisingly are "eh - it's family so it's fine - shut up and leave them alone" NOT As I said earlier, my method would be to warn once - LE the second time. If they won't listen to reason, maybe a health fine would sink in.
-
Both. I don't hunt from trees, period. I prefer to stand and lean against a tree. It's much easier to scan 360 while standing. But I do tire and need to take a load off periodically. That's why I have one of these clipped to my belt. Any fallen log or stump will do, which is great as I like to still hunt when conditions permit. Portable Seat

ok, I see, your family can do whatever they want just because you're related. As I said earlier, as long as you sleep... I don't understand how, with that philosophy but whatever. We're all different, thank heaven!
-
I wonder if all of these folks who say they wouldn't turn in their family would turn in their neighbors for doing the exact same thing. Just curious if we're talking double standards, which I suspect is the case. If I put together the same story as the OP but eliminated the family aspect of it, I'd be willing to bet there would have been a lynch mob formed in the first few posts. I'd still turn 'em in. As Paula said, they'd get over it and realize that they were wrong and deserved the fines, or they wouldn't. We're not talking jail here folks.
-
Congratulations on your persistence and finding it. Glad it wasn't spoiled or nabbed by yotes.
-
I forsee a meat cutting party in the future. Congratulations.
-
Congratulations to you both.
-
Well, you obviously would sleep just fine shutting up and letting the outlaws continue, I wouldn't. Everyone has different morals.
-
Everyone has to live with themselves. If "you're" fine knowingly letting your family abuse laws in this fashion, more power to you. In my view, that makes "you" just as guilty as they are. I'd give them one warning and the second time the law would be called. NOTE: The "you're" and "you" in this post are targeted towards NO ONE in particular and are used in figurative terms.
-
No, abiding by laws before family - big difference. If this were my family I'd be on the phone with LE, and my family would know it. You want to act like idiots, expect to be treated like an idiot.
-
With a handle of "jesse.james" I have some reservations about the post but assuming it's legit then turn them in. Period. Being family doesn't excuse being a--holes.

If you can find a Coleman Gas lantern it will make the blood shine. Big help if have access to one. Good luck!

A lot of guys on the Corvette Forum use TireRack and are happy with them. http://tirecrawler.com/ is also used with good results.

I agree with the folks who said to talk to the owner, if he doesn't care then you have zero chance of changing anything. And if he does care and says you can patrol, run people off, etc then get that in writing with his name, address, contact information, signature and date stating that you have the authority to "police" the property and are acting on his/her behalf.

Saw that report too Dnkydog. Both the deer (complete with scars) and the arrow looked real enough to me. Glad they got it taken care of but sure not good press for hunting. They didn't play that card during the report but...
-
Congratulations! Your luck seems to be peaking, buy me some lottery tickets? ;-)
-
excellent - nice deer! Congratulations

Beautiful deer!
