  1. One out to 30 yards. My bow shoots flat. then a 40 and 50. Don't like a bunch of pins on my sight so I took the last two right off.
  2. Idk what you guys are smokin'. I would gladly through an arrow through that first buck if he came close.
  3. They were nowhere near my entry trail. I came in on a straight line to the stand from the highline. two deer was at least 50 yards to either side of it. The first was 35 to the side. And I used a drag.
  4. You will get your second chance. Next time you will drill him. Good luck.
  5. Like Belo said, choose the stand that has the direction of the wind that is blowing away from the food source instead of at it. I have a stand on one side of my field that I will hunt at night because the wind blows out of the woods and into the field. The opposite side is my morning stand. That and I take different routes to the stands. At night I will walk through the field, mornings I go the long way around on the highline and through the woods.
  6. Haha, I was thinking about your posts while it was happening. I don't get what they picked up on. But something had them freaked out. I think the first deer that blew at me kind of rattled the nerves for them. They were literally 100 yards up wind by the end and would randomly blow
  7. Well, walking to the stand and kicked a deer. Went down into the swamp. Sitting in the stand an hour and heard what I think is the same deer working its way out of the swamp. Looking, looking, huge body moving through the brush. Grab the bow and get ready, only 35 yards. She came out downwind and blew me in. Pi$$ed. 5 minutes later I hear another blow. Up wind on the ridge. See her bound and stop. Then I hear another in the swamp blow 5 times in a row. Then the other blows again. This continued for ten minutes. Get real pi$$ed. They walk away, still up wind, and are blowing for the next 100 yards. WTF! Pretty much ruined the rest of the hunt. At least they are moving.
  8. That's all you, I'm not eating that sh!t. haha.
  9. That's the beauty of hunting. I have only had one deer come into range so far this year. It makes it that much more rewarding when everything plays out. Gets your blood pumping. Makes all the miserable days disappear.
  10. Crappy is right, you should eat it if you kill it. Or cut it out and take a bite out of it like a heart!
  11. Drop a big turd right on the seat of the stand. That should get your point across when they try to sit it next time.
  12. At least 3.5. Sagging back, grey face and a big 'ol brisket! And a nice rack.
  13. Better to go look for him than to think, O I have no sign, probably missed. Could be bleeding out internally. Could have hit him high and its taking a minute to bleed. My uncle shot a buck this year with a bow that didn't bleed for the first 40-50 yards, then poured out blood. I hope we get to see some pictures of him on the ground. Good luck.
  14. What a buck! And awesome story too! Congrats!
  15. Found an interesting article on Alzheimers prediction calendar and what other experts think. Apparently does breed on Nov 15 each yr plus or minus a day. Or if the calendar is correct, we are looking at a late rut. Who knows.. http://wiredtohunt.com/2013/07/02/2013-rut-predictions-prepare-for-a-late-whitetail-rut/
  16. Thanks Lawdaz! I read it again and got the same exact thing as when I first read it. I was referring to him stating that it would have been better if he had his long bow. As in, if it were with the long bow and not a compound, that would have been a lob. lol.
  17. Awesome. And 45 yards? That's a lob with a long bow lol
  18. I think its the same buck. If you look at the rear right leg you can see a piece of brown hair moving into the white around his joint. On both bucks. Idk, maybe they all have that.
  19. How's it looking out there?! Nice and cold this morning, would think the deer should be moving. Someone knock one down! Good luck everyone!
  20. Awesome shot and nice buck!
  21. Face paint! I cant stand a mask pushing down on my nose and breathing into it and it gets all wet. Or if its cold and I have to wipe my nose. Always fiddling around with it. I love face paint. Just Paint from the top of the eyes to the beard. Hat covers the rest. Maybe even throw a little in the beard Lol.
