  1. I just applied with them under the carman position! Thanks for the post!
  2. For sale: 2013 Bear Apprentice 2. Wife took it out maybe 8 times last season. Accented pink to the max. Has a nice Trophy Ridge stabilizer and sweet Viper site. Comes ready to shoot. Does not come with arrows. Will take PayPal or cash pick up. Would be a perfect gift for a daughter, girlfriend or wife! Thanks.
  3. Put your boots back on and go do a tour.
  4. You say this is easy?? And you can do this easier with a bow than with a gun? If you can take a video of you walking through a field, up to shooting range of a deer, with a bow, during legal light, I will believe you and probably sh!t my pants. And you would have to do it multiple times seeing how it is so easy. You probably take them off people's lawns in Ithaca.
  5. I'll tell you what it was!.... That damned Sas-sqquach!
  6. Features Cayuga County deer over population
  7. Don't know if anyone has seen this yet. Thought it was pretty interesting. Don't see documentaries on whitetail too often. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nI97ca94w8k
  8. Have to agree, looks like a photoshopped nut pocket to me.
  9. I traded a Remington 270 for a Saiga 308 last year. I would say you got a good deal, I ended up selling mine for $900 when the whole assault rifle craze was going on. Loved the rifle but couldn't pass on that offer. Real fun to shoot just as they are. Plus you could hunt with it.
  10. Thanks for the tips biggame. I will definitely start him young. I have been reading up with getting him used to his nose and then start him on tame rabbits. I plan on working with this dog on a constant basis. Any other tips would be helpful.
  11. Hey guys, haven't posted in a bit but I need some advice. I am going to be a proud owner of a Walker Coonhound here shortly. This will be my first hound so I have been researching like crazy. I was looking for beagles at first because I would like to rabbit hunt with the dog, but I found this Walker hound and I am beginning to like the breed more and more as I research. The guy I am buying from runs his dogs on coons, but tells me he has seen people run them on rabbits and prefer to do so because of the longer legs in the snow. My question is if I train the dog properly, how well will he do on running rabbits? I have potential to be able to run him with some older beagles to help steer him in the right direction. Or should I take up a new hobby and hunt coons or yotes with him? I do have a couple buddies that coon hunt with hounds. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks
  12. I'm glad you found him. Next time don't try and rush the shot in fear the deer will be gone. Take nice deep breaths. When you are ready, exhale and hold at the bottom of the breath. Your body comes to a natural pause at the end of each exhale, not inhale. Slowly squeeze that trigger to the point it surprises you when it actually fires. Don't anticipate the shot. Now go eat some venison!
  13. That sucks I hope you get it. Must be a rush having a bear in the sights!
  14. And I saw a guy drive down the road with a racker laying over his trunk. MEanwhile, still here at work...
  15. I thought you said "Bear down"? hmm Hope you find it. Good luck.
  16. Well I'm reporting from work. Sucks. My buddy went out behind my house this morning. Have 70 acres and a highline runs through it. As he was walking out he saw 11 people on it. Wish I was home right now. Beyond pissed. Not to mention I saw a guy at the one gas station in my town and he had a gelled up hairdo with camo on lol. Some people amaze me.. Otherwise, GOod luck everyone!
  17. I can't wait! Got the TC encore .270 all sighted in and man is that thing a tack driver! Have to work Saturday but then off the whole first week. If I see a portion of the bucks I saw during bow season I should be in good shape!
  18. Take the shot. There is always the factor of not knowing what is in the woods behind an animal. BTW have you ever shot or watched a tracer round? 90% of the time, the round doesn't come to a stop when it hits the ground.
