  1. DEC. announced last year was the safest year..even with all the deaths.
  2. I have that seeded, great for the garden but in my Rocky plots not so much.. I broad cast all my plot sorghum and corn.
  3. I shoot lower poundage..won't try them.
  4. Biz...first my word and phrase definitions come from traditional dictionaries. Not the "urban slang" one that gets it's meanings from prison slang. Second I can see from your last posts you've become disoriented. Perhaps from too much prison porn...I don't know. So let me remind you ,when they said what's for dinner tonight...They meant from your Kitchen, not the bedroom. TMI
  5. Love experiments...rye grass will take over and crowd out...Italian sweet ryes won't handle very cold so will die out a bot. Sunflowers but good luck with that..man deer love them. I've thrown out bok chi seed grew great deer loved it..Swiss chard, spinach, cosmos, golden rod. I'll buy old of really cheap seed to toss in special test areas.
  6. Some veggies I won't eat but Mr B loves and visa versa.. He likes cooked carrots I won't eat them..love raw..he's not big on beets...I love beets...he likes potatoes...I can live without them. We are both big tossed salad eaters...BTW.That was a new chicken recipe...pretty good, the dried tomatoes worked well with the feta, gave it a very rich flavor.
  7. I'm not happy about it but I have had a weight problem since having kids...no matter what I do. Though you can bet I'm a,rather strong person. Just life
  8. Greek chicken rolls... BSCB pounded thin. A layer of Evo soaked dried tomatoes, sliced blk. Olives, feta cheese. Drizzled with basil balsamic dressing. Rolled and drizzled with more balsamic topped with a layer of thin sliced tomato and sunflowers. Carrots ,green beans beets, and a tossed salad.
  9. Unos was closed but I had her meet me at Carrabas...while there they had something big hit their roof and bounce across. Then it periodically caused a racket across the dinning room ceiling...I Don't care! The food and service were great...hated seeing her get on a little commuter to Washington though..scares me.
  10. Think about all the mulch that's getting chipped in the wind "storm " area. They were out in force today...much of the stuff I saw up rooted and blown down looked diseased . Not strong roots small root bald in huge trees and hollowed out line and trunks...
  11. I'm suppose to meet our Daughter in Henrietta for lunch...Can't get through to anyone but Wegmans...and They don't know who is and isn't open...Called Gander and was transferred to NC to find out they are open in Henrietta, but have no phone service....You guys know anything?...not one restaurant has anything but a busy signal
  12. Mines in the recall...go figure..Now I'm glad I haven't been using it...
  13. Another area of the state has been added to the night time baiting sharp shooting list...shooting deer up to March 31. Why that date?, because it's a time of year they are most likely to come into the BAIT piles. I'm thinking they don't have racks to count points on...just killing deer... So here we have the state of NY under a spot light showing their lack of concern over two big hunter restrictions...baiting and what may become antler restrictions. There really is no way to explain this glaring contradiction.
  14. Read in the NYODN safety issue with the trigger . It can fire without the trigger being touched... This made me think of the guy that shot his sister in law...was it a Remington???? If so was it in the recall years??? Did it take deaths to uncover this???? So many questions. I also would like to know ...having bought mine New and registered , why did I have to read about it in a hunting magazine? When ten point had a safety issue they sent me a notification right away
  15. That and cankers with beech ,root fungi and cankers with maples, gypsy moth in pine ..ect..ect
  16. What good are 3-4 points when all they have to be is an inch long? Been a few days since I read the new proposal ,I ,believe that's what I recall,am I wrong? I've past several over the years and last year that looked like long horns with points 1-3 " that would have been legal in the 4 point area. All skinny lanky young buck that anyone could shoot and 21/2 year olds. See points or not when they start as spikes at 11/2 it takes time to grow those very long main beams with bumps...21/2. How are they saved? How's it help the herd again? Phade and do not agree on much, but he is so very correct as to the size of the holes in this.
  17. It is and it defies half of what guys talk about...it is right near a access RD that is used, at the end of a steep long slope with a west northwest wind blowing up the hill. It is the hill they travel up ,down and across to file past my stand on a flat area before going farther down hill. No matter what direction they come in from, with our swirling winds they walk right into what should be my scent stream. I've walked 50 yards past bedded doe, fawn and even buck and climbed my ladders, to have them get up stretch when it got light and bed down or walk to me. A magic spot I go to when others have not panned out.
  18. What I find a tad disturbing is no mention of having towns take that road side tree destroyer they use to mangle back limbs and brush ,forced to do all their work in non growing months. I Personally believe they are the biggest spreaders of disease amongst trees and shrubs throughout the state. Also the crews that do utility line trimming. That mulch gets dropped here and there all over the areas they work..All one needs to do is stop and ask for a load or few.
  19. Please read the link ...We have enough trees dying in NYS...and if they find this in just one of your oak...They will order the cutting and burning of every oak within root touching...they have extensive root systems. https://content.govdelivery.com/accounts/NYSDEC/bulletins/17fe6a4 http://www.dec.ny.gov/lands/46919.html
  20. This is a surprise area...Only in the fact I do not know what they are eating this time of year...The newly tilled plot failed last year. First the turnips then the WR I put over it..yet this is my busiest cam right now. It is usually the busiest during season but there was a favored wild grass growing there, now it's mainly moss . Old reliable stand is in the upper left side. Over the years I've taken 7 buck and at least 16 doe out of that stand. It's getting a constant line of deer and fox walking through... I see a lot of dark tarsals in that little group....Hope they like what I plant this year...several shading trees are coming down and a whole lot of lime is getting spread.
  21. I do not know the area but need to say ....God Bless you for, in such a situation ,looking out for an older seller. You just do not see that often. As far as the land goes check local prices on lands sold, check tax records on appraisals and what surrounding lands have sold for in the last couple of years. As far as usage, check the DEC web site on deer density and deer takes. Just consider all the things you are looking for from a piece of property. What may change in the future ,as to surrounding usage and even weather patterns. Has snow fall amounts lessened in the past few years? That's an easy check. Again, kudo' s for being a good guy.
