  1. It could have been combat had someone been in a position to stop him. And whether someone is there to stop someone or not, you can't deny that a sawn off can clear a room or hallway faster than any rifle. Also I've never read anything about considerable training, I read that she attended a rifle range. period.
  2. Agreed , but if my family were safe, and I were in a position to protect his family, I would... cos he certainly isn't in a position to do anything to save them. Police investigate the scene of the carnage, they don't prevent it, where were they as this shooting happened... not there.
  3. Where do you get the idea that he "obviously" knew guns? Any idiot can pull a trigger or swap a magazine. Same as any idiot can swing a sword or plunge a knife. And in close tight quarters, loaded with shot (especially if barrel is shortened) a Shotgun can do far more damage. A rifle is not really the best tool for close quarter combat.
  4. In reality, I think the killer could have done much more damage with a sawn off pump gun than a rifle, in close quarters like hallways and classrooms.... He could also have chosen to make some incendiary devices and burn them all to death. Or he could have made an improvised explosive device. Or he could have exposed some wires and then set of the sprinklers electrocuting everyone. Or he could have driven through the parking lot at high speed when they're all lined up for the bus. Or he could have gone on a rampage with a Samurai sword, no-one was armed so no-one could stop him. Or...Or.. Or.... The list is endless, of course guns can kill people, as can just about anything in this world, the one common factor is someone with the desire to do so. Edit : s/a/an improvised...
  5. 2010-2020 = 6 so far , going into 2013
  6. "Yes, I believe that they are perfectly willing and happy to exploit this tragedy for their own agenda. And as a matter of fact they have begun already. I am sure that they feel sorry for the lives lost, but will not hesitate for even a minute to exploit the situation for their own benefit and the furtherance of their ambitions and agenda. And the proof is in their immediate enthusiastic reactions. They are not wasting a minute of this opportunity and most likely had a response already prepared and a plan in place for this event even before it happened." He said other things to the same effect numerous times, but falls in line with your excitement at the need for us to "buckle up and enjoy the ride".
  7. Gotta say Steve, that it sounded like you had a little too much excitement in this last post, kinda reminded me of something Doc said in another thread.
  8. Tell ya same thing as I tell my girls, pinching is not nice! Sent from my DROID RAZR using Tapatalk 2
  9. what gets me is that initially there were only two handguns inside, and a long gun in the trunk. then it turns into two handguns , an AR15 (I think a lot of people mistake the AR for Assault Rifle as opposed to ARmalite) and a slew of 30 round magazines inside , and a shotgun in the trunk. Seems odd that if the AR was the primary weapon used, that it wasn't initially accounted for.
  10. Can't say I've had that experience, I bought a P89DC years ago, NIB but it was an older model that just sat in this store. From time the grip polymer had shrunk, they wanted nothing to do with it... I bought some Hogue grips and moved on, but the experience hasn't been forgotten
  11. I have the S&W bodyguard .380 , I like it. I also like the LCR. I've never checked out the LC9.
  12. http://blog.constitutioncenter.org/2012/12/mass-school-bombing-in-1927-puts-sandy-hook-in-context/ le your link didn't work for me, so searched and found this. very interesting article, and goes back to the root of the matter, someone with a desire to hurt people, will find a way, gun or no gun.
  13. Anyone tried any of the remote control calls? Any luck ? I bought this for myself : http://www.gandermountain.com/modperl/product/details.cgi?pdesc=Extreme-Dimensions-mini-Phantom-Remote-Digital-Call&i=415220&r=view&aID=503G4&cvsfa=2586&cvsfe=2&cvsfhu=343135323230&s_kwcid=goobase_goobase_filler&cID=GSHOP_415220#reviewsInfo In theory, I like the fact you can add multiple speakers and layer sounds, and that it brings the attention away from me with my grunt tube / bleat can. I also figure it probably makes consistently more realistic sounds than I can conjure up at this point. No idea if deer are spooked or attracted by them... Opinions?
  14. I'd at least switchem up for cremini , much more flavorful , and not too strange for the more picky among your guests
  15. I came here from Ireland, having lived in Ireland, The UK , and Spain. So I have first hand experience living in nations that don't allow public gun ownership. I can say that the criminals still have guns, there are still shootings, there have still been cases of mass murder (even in elementary schools) , there are also lots of bombings which kill MANY innocent civilians. So where did the gun bans get the people other than under the thumb of the criminals and the government.
  16. Does nothing to stop gun crime, just gives the powers that be a nice list of all the LEGAL guns, so they can round them all up when they feel like controlling us.
  17. Haha I know. If not bloody it would certainly need hosing off for other reasons Sent from my DROID RAZR using Tapatalk 2
  18. Muzzy, just realised you may not have known that the tree leaning in that pic was a recent addition. Missed the stand by about an inch. Sent from my DROID RAZR using Tapatalk 2
  19. Second pic was taken when I got there, he was gone. But the wildgame cam in the lower left was what took the 100+ photos of him as he stood there and posed
  20. Also found this... the buck in my last post was captured by the camera on the lower left...
  21. Had to work Saturday morning, got in the woods at noon and pulled my card. A 10pt had been in front of my camera from 7am until 10.45am. Let two doe and a scrubby six go, waiting for his return in vain Sent from my DROID RAZR using Tapatalk 2
