  1. And this is EXACTLY why I am such a fan of Donald Trump. Irregardless of his Twitter antics or his behavior at the debates. I'm not naive enough to believe that he has no skeletons somewhere either. But his wealth was accumulated while a businessman, not while a politician. And the fact that both the career Democrats AND Republicans are scared of him draining the swamp speaks volumes to someone like me. He is proof that you don't need to be a career politician to run for office & be an effective president.
  2. I will start...opening day saw a couple decent breaks, but no shots fired. Sunday was a different story, caught a flock of hens & juvies sneaking into the woods from a cornfield, and 45 minutes me & a buddy tagged out. I cannot put into words the pride & love I have for my dog Maizy, I would put her up against anyone's turkey dog. Almost 6 years old, and she is truly in her prime.
  3. Like the title says, post a picture & a story if you would like
  4. Yes, it definitely looks like an eventual plan to take our guns away, one small grab at a time. The second amendment is pretty simple, and I suppose open to interpretation. "A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed." It seems to me that the founding fathers are saying we need to be able to own guns, so that we can fight an oppressive government if the time ever came that we needed to. In today's day & age, I'd think that would include semi-automatic rifles that can hold multiple shots; Biden calls them "assault weapons" on his website, which he clearly claims he wants to stop future sales of, and strictly regulate those already in circulation. How much clearer does it need to be that by voting Democrat this election, you are voting to have your gun rights taken away as well?
  5. Now, you are talking like a guy with a paper a**hole. If you really believe this, and call yourself a hunter or outdoor person, you are more clueless than anyone that you have called out here with your "superior intellect". Actually, every time I respond to you I feel a little bit dumber for wasting my time & effort. Moving on.....
  6. Like your boy Sleepy Joe would say, "Awww...C'mon Man". Someone who really wanted "pointers" wouldn't start out the gate with the liberal noise, especially if they wanted to be accepted in hunting circles. How much is Soros paying these days, $15/hour? Anyway, your logic is circular. Liberals are dead-set on gun control in the Canadian or European model. This doesn't help anyone who is truly interested in hunting or owning firearms.
  7. Yes. I'm still fishing & crabbing right now, I'll probably head for the woods in a week or two once it gets colder & fall turkey opens up. I don't have a lot to add since pretty much all the hunting threads are on bow hunting right now. I really don't visit this forum much these days, since I semi-retired. Right now I'm especially interested in who & what my fellow outdoors people are voting for, this upcoming election may very well decide the direction our country & gun rights decide to take. This forum was mostly a time killer for me when I had my office job (yes, rednecks with masters degrees do exist in the corporate world ). So, you've searched my profile & I've given you my resume. Why are you here, other than to stir the pot with leftist dribble?
  8. My comments make complete sense to me, and probably many here. What you trolled back with is a lot of 75-cent words that really don't seem to even go together. Are you saying that being white means you are treated special in this country? Or are you just deflecting again?
  9. White privilege died back in the 1960s. There is no white-pride month, no NAAWP, no WET, no white lives matter, no white panthers. My ancestors didn't own slaves or even show up in this country until the 1900s, so I have nothing to feel guilty about or pay reparations for. Affirmative action only benefits black people, and every dark-skinned person in this country has the same opportunity to advance if they decide to choose that path. Why do so many people immigrate here from Africa, Jamaica, or Haiti if this is such a hateful country towards dark-skinned people? It's pretty obvious that all of the attention on race & skin color is just another ploy to keep us all divided rather than united. Do police profile dark-skinned people? Probably, but they also profile shady looking & acting light skinned people. Don't act like a thug, show a little respect when questioned by the police, and drop the no-snitch mentality. It really is that simple.
  10. Get well Mr. President & Melania. We need 4 more years without a liberal president!!!!!
  11. Yes, but seems to me there is a little more at stake this time. If memory serves me correctly, he didn't look too good in his first debate with Hillary Clinton back in 2016 either, but he changed his style for the last 2 debates, and got a better overall approval rating. I'm confident he'll turn this around also.
  12. It WAS tough to watch. I don't know who (if anyone) is advising Trump on these debates, but he needs to just calm down. This should really be a slam-dunk for him. Just let Biden ramble on & throw out fake statistics, he'll paint himself into a corner in no time. They really need neutral moderators for these things, not typical MSM hacks that they keep using every election cycle.
  13. Chasey Lain. She had a song dedicated to her, why not a hunting season?
  14. There is the problem in a nutshell. If they can't respect themselves, they are doomed.
  15. I will gladly drive you to Canada, or the airport if you think this is such a bad place. Is this a hunting forum or another liberal news rag? Have you been paying attention to what is going on around you for the last 3 months? Or the last 4 years? Russian collusion charges that nobody could prove. A phony impeachment trial that went nowhere. And suddenly a worldwide epidemic that originated in China (big surprise). Now racial protests before anyone even goes on trial. And Democratic politicians that are in complete support of getting rid of our police forces and in support of a group that doesn't believe all lives matter, only black ones. If you want to read some statistics, look at the TRUE figures on police shootings & black on black crime vs, white on black crime. Where is the outrage there? Don't you find it odd that the Democrats want to take our guns, yet they want to get rid of the police forces as well? Do we call Nancy Pelosi or Chuck Schumer to come to the rescue when we can no longer protect ourselves? Honestly, I am in shock of what I see going on around me. Police that are told to stand down & let looters destroy cities. Complacent people being OK with out of control mobs looting & destroying public property. And people wishing the president would be quiet so the mobs don't get angrier? Perhaps this is the improvement you are talking about? This is not the country I grew up in, and not the country many of our relatives fought to create & preserve. And if we are not careful, we will get what some of us want, complete corrupt government control & 3rd world socialism.
  16. Not only that, but what the mainstream media tries to pass for news & information is as corrupt as any propaganda they currently feed the masses in China or North Korea, or the old Soviet Russia. The president is absolutely correct, we are being fed fake news every day, with a very liberal slant. I truly feel sorry for anyone who doesn't see this for what it is .
  17. Pandering to the rest of the world was Obama's game. Do we REALLY want to become a socialist, 3rd world shithole? Strictly my opinion, but Donald Trump is exactly what this country needs right now. Make no mistake about it, the democrats and people behind them are deathly afraid of him, and those of us who support him. And the best they can come up with is a senile career crook who can't keep his hands to himself. I'm really hoping they are daft enough to let Biden have a debate with Trump, and let those who are on the fence really see who they are voting for if they pull the "D" lever this November. But if by some miracle Biden is elected, kiss your guns & way of living goodbye. I don't think there will be any turning back if there is a next time.
  18. Yes, that is true. But it will be considered a tax "credit". Meaning a freebie. And if you didn't get a payment and were eligible to collect, you can claim the credit on your 2020 return. And you will owe no federal tax on the payment, and in all likelihood no state tax. This is a rerun, we've seen this before.
  19. It will be considered a credit on your 2020 return, and anyone who doesn't get a check (for whatever reason, provided they are eligible) can claim it then, and anyone who got a check will be considered as already taking the credit. This was the same method used when they sent out stimulus checks in the Bush & Obama eras.
  20. My father owned land for many years in northern Vermont. We didn't see or kill a lot of deer there, but the ones we managed to come home with were huge bodied; antlers were nothing spectacular. I am heading to New England (ME, VT, & NH) this fall to turkey hunt with my dog, my understanding is that turkey numbers have exploded over the last 10 years there. Supposedly grouse numbers are very good as well.
  21. Hard call. If they have a deposit in, might be best to just see what happens with the Corona virus, it may be a non-issue by the summer, maybe they could schedule for a later date. If I didn't have a deposit in, I'd just wait another year. I did the Alaska cruise with my wife 2 years ago. No regrets, the food was very good, always something to do to stay busy, and the landscape was amazing. Most of the day trips were complete tourist traps. If I ever go again I'd either go somewhere more off the beaten path, or better yet plan my own trip centered around fishing, but doubt the wife would have much interest in that.
  22. Congratulations. Reminds me of a joke I heard years ago.... A woman walks into a tattoo parlor... ...and says to the tattoo artist "I want this picture of Elvis Presley tattooed on my inner thigh." The tattoo artist doesn't bat an eye and proceeds to do so. The artist finishes the tattoo, and it's an exact match to the picture. He asks the woman "So, what do you think?" "This is awful! This looks nothing like Elvis!" "Ma'am, it's an exact match", the artist says, holding the picture in his hand. "I don't care what you think", the woman says, "try again on my other thigh". The artist once again tattoos a perfect match of the King on her other thigh, and once again the woman is furious. "You managed to screw this up twice! I want my money back!" "Ma'am, I don't know what to tell you. Both of these are identical!" "I bet I can go up to anyone on the street and they'll agree with me!" Says the woman "And if they do, I'll give you your money back" says the artist. So the woman walks out of the tattoo parlor and walks up to the first man she sees. She hikes up her skirt and says "Who does this look like to you?" The man says "I don't know about the twins, but the one in the middle is a dead ringer for Willie Nelson"
