  1. Then it IS your side, whether you want to admit or realize it. I do understand NY would have gone blue whether you voted for Trump or not, but by not voting or casting a wasted vote, you are part of the problem. Blame it all on Trump if you want, it may or may not make the next 4 years a little more tolerable, I guess that's your choice to make.
  2. Speculation. He didn't play ball by the Washington rules, which made him a lot of enemies. But we now have a senile leader, career politician, bought & paid for by foreign interests, who even raised a son to follow in his footsteps. Who promotes higher taxes, more government spending & liberal policies, and increased gun control. Anyone want to take odds on when his own party gives him the boot & makes Kamala Harris the president? Sounds like a HUGE win for your side....
  3. I'm 100% behind a true, impartial audit, recount, or another closely supervised election. But there is a leftist agenda that Washington & the media feels needs to be promoted, so unfortunately, it won't happen. We are supposed to be a democracy with laws & majority rule through the voting process, but when that cannot even be trusted, what are you left with? I'd say a banana republic....
  4. I don't have information on Ulster or Dutchess county, but if you have the time to make a drive & scout, for squirrels I would concentrate on fairly open hardwood stands, especially those that have hickories or oaks that dropped acorns last year. For rabbits, I'd try to find thick clearcuts or new growth woodlots, the thicker the better, but if your son is young he may not like walking through the tangles. I have hunted in Warren county, NJ. There is a lot of public land up there that sounds suitable, maybe try there since it closer to home? Best of luck!
  5. One more thing I will add, and most probably know this already... A turkey's sense of hearing & direction are INCREDIBLE. I am convinced that they can hear you 400 yards away, and know within 10 feet of where you are calling from. As a beginner I remember being told about their eyesight, which IS quite good, but their sense of hearing is mind-boggling. Just one man's opinion, of course.
  6. Honestly, it's not so much the call as the caller. You have to experiment a little with every call you buy to get the best sound.
  7. From miles away? That's doubtful. Hundreds of yards is definitely possible. My experience has been that a box call generally will carry further, especially in windy conditions. If you can afford one, pack it along, they don't weigh much. But in my opinion, no matter what part of the country you are in, if a tom is interested enough, the calls sound accurate, and he can hear you, there is a chance that he will make the trip. You just have to be out the day when the stars all line up. Good luck, & post a story & pictures if you are successful.
  8. It was a different time. Polio & smallpox were real concerns, and as far as we know, weren't created in a laboratory in China. I may sound like a kook in a tinfoil hat, but after everything I've seen this year, I don't trust very much that has the support of the government, big pharma, or the media.
  9. Most states I hunt in, it's required for deer or small game. In states where it's optional, it really all depends on the situation, I also believe it stands out to most animals, but not as much as it does to a human.
  10. You're welcome. https://www.mansondirect.com/words.html
  11. Not live from the woods, but got this Allegany county 7 1/2 point on Sunday. Let him get to the top of the mountain before I shot, but he rolled down anyway. MAJOR PIA getting him out, I am getting too old for this....
  12. What I have observed over the years is that when an employer is getting aggressive about having you work for them, something is not working for them (usually means they are understaffed, and people need a break from the long hours). And I am sure your daughter is very good at what she does, and they recognize this. With that in mind, I'd probably advise her to go with her first choice. I'd be questioning the integrity of someone who wants your daughter to change her mind after she's already committed to another company. If she goes with the aggressive company and she doesn't like it, she will have burned 2 bridges.
  13. Model 99, .358 Winchester. We have a history together.
  14. Every state has a different system, what they do in NY is not how they handle things in every other state. https://ballotpedia.org/State_by_State_Provisional_Ballot_Laws Whether anyone cares to believe my anecdote or not, I requested a mail-in in my state of Delaware because I was hunting out-of-state last week. I actually received 2 ballots to mail in. I did the right thing & only mailed in 1, I am not sure if both would have been counted if I had decided to cheat. But obviously something is not right if 2 ballots are mailed out. The system is flawed, I would venture to guess any Biden voter would want a recount too if they believed that inaccurate counting would have influenced the election negatively.
  15. There was something funny going on this time, no doubt. And in all fairness, things were pretty shady back in 2000 when Bush Jr. was eventually called the eventual winner. No question in my mind that voter reform is needed in the US. The question that nags at me, is is the level of corruption so deep in Washington that anything will ever be done about it? I don't oppose online or mail-in voting PROVIDED there is a system in place that assures only people who are alive & eligible to vote get 1 ballot; if that isn't practical, then we should only allow in-person voting backed up by a valid ID.
  16. I am all out of likes today, but I am giving you one by proxy!
  17. Personally, no. I'd be more than happy to pull the lever for Candace Owens if she decides to run. But I have an extremely tough time understanding how anyone who calls themselves a man, or sportsperson, will just willingly vote away their freedoms because they dislike (or probably are jealous) of a president that represents the way of life we have had for almost 250 years. You do realize that Biden & Beto want to take our guns away, and Kamala Ho-ris supports BLM & defunding the police, or have you just been drinking at the liberal fountain because you hate our president so much? If she was so strong, why is California such a disaster, and what will she do differently once Sleepy Joe is committed or mysteriously dies after a year or so in office and she takes over?
  18. Here is a guy that has missed the boat completely. Once we are forced to be on the defense about our gun rights, it is all over.
  19. ; Nailed it. All I've read for 10 pages is how obnoxious & unlikeable Trump is. So, they went out & voted for Biden. Have any of the Biden crowd stopped to think of what they voted for? So many NYers claim to hate Cuomo, but this is pretty much what you are getting now, only on a nationwide scale.
  20. Maybe it's the areas we live in. I moved to the border of Delaware & Maryland a few months ago, both states that traditionally vote "D". Every other house is flying a Trump flag, very few Biden signs anywhere. A little less back in my old neighborhood in PA, but still overwhelmingly Trump supporters. My opinion of course, but I don't see Trump as being all that hated, but I do see the media trying to sell this to us on a very regular basis. Hillary wasn't especially likeable, but I see that things are much different this time around. The corruption, lies, rioting in Democratic cities, & prolonging the Corona fiasco for 7 months has a lot of people disgusted, and ready to pick up guns if it comes to that. Harris is a hack who will probably be the president in 6 months if Biden does win, she's more "deplorable" than Hillary (IMO, of course). And I can't even wrap my head around the fact that the Democrats are trying to run a man who should be in a nursing home as the president of the most powerful country in the world. So many of our freedoms are at stake this time around, I can't even fathom how anyone would willingly vote in socialism & more government control of our lives, especially knowing what we know now.
  21. I'm predicting it's not going to be all that close, now is the chance to expose the Biden cartel for what it really is, I'm not hearing much at all from my liberal acquaintances in the last few days, I'm imagining some of those on the fence or reluctant to vote for Trump may be doing some soul searching. Seems to me the doctors on his team have their own agenda, I haven't trusted anything that came out of Fauci's mouth since March...for someone who is supposed to be an expert, he seems to contradict himself & change his policies every other week. But I do agree that the Democrats will likely contest the election when they do lose. The best thing Trump can do in the next debate is to stay calm, and give Biden more rope to hang himself with.
