When I got contacts in about 1986, I could start getting non prescription sunglasses. I have EVERY pair I've ever bought since then except a pair of B&L Wings. I think I have 5 other pairs (not in chronological order); Corning Serengeti, B&L Wayfarer, some off brand from Sam's Club that are darn good, a pair of mirrored homo glasses and my latest a pair of Bolle shades I got this past summer up in Lake Placid. Needless to say I take pretty good care of my stuff, not like my pal quoted above.

Now I know.......I called at 9:15am and left a message. A very pleasant gal named Diane (name changed to protect the innocent) called back a couple minutes later. She said that I didn't send back the questionnaire, I said nicely "yes I did". Then she said "oops, I just found it". Some how it wasn't marked as "received" when it came in via USPS. She apologized and said that she would change the automated call in system for my juror number and that I should in fact call back so the system knows I checked in. I can still be called for three MORE trials in the next 89 days (it was 90 days but one down, 89 to go) but she said I'd get a letter with at least 10 days notice to call in again and I probably won't hear a thing from them for at least the next 6 weeks as they have nothing scheduled. She was way to nice for me to give her any trouble about the angst and consternation I suffered because of the confusion.

I called at 7:45am as instructed and got the same message. I'll call their "manned" phone after 9am and see what's up...... They give you two options when doing the questionnaire; mail in or via their web site. I used the mail in form the day I got it. It said it had to be in within 10 days. If they didn't get it within 10 days, why wouldn't their system red flag it and send out another??? Heck if I know......

Got a juror number and keyed it in, it told me what I said in the OP. I'm sure its just a simple misunderstanding on my part..........

I've been summoned to be a juror in the US District Court/Western District; filled out the questionnaire right away and mailed it in. I'm supposed to call today after 5:30pm, to report (if instructed to) at 7:45am tomorrow. The recording says that my information hasn't been filed yet and if I haven't sent in my questionnaire, then I should do so. Then it says that I should call back on date and time shown on the paper work. Sooooo, am I supposed to go there or not? Fortunately I'm off tomorrow so it's not a huge deal but WTF are you supposed to do if you had to work and just maybe had to be to work by 6am, 7am etc? I'll call again later tonight then call in the morning I guess...... JFC why do these assholes need to complicate this stuff?

I'm talking a real tangible item.........not your mind, virginity, hair, libido etc. I mean something valuable or very special. The worst thing for me is my wedding ring. About 7-8 years ago it just came up missing. I think I might have thrown it in the garbage by mistake as I have a habit of grabbing multiple things with one hand, all destined for different locations. Maybe I grabbed it along with a couple pieces of tissue/advertising crap from a magazine/tag from clothes from our bedroom and dropped it in the trash can in the bathroom? Another theory we have is that it was on the bathroom sink/counter and the cat pushed it into the sink or the trash can next to the vanity. Two theories that might not even be close. The new gold band was 5 bills +.............. What's your worst loss?

Bummer on all those MIA goodies. This is a beautiful Geno Denning I scored off eBay a couple years ago. Way down deep I can see myself tucking it somewhere out of sight for some reason. I think it'll show up but it could take months. Another thing; it seems like I posted a similar thread some time back about another lost item. I think that turned up unless I'm dreaming.......

Don't you just hate it when something goes MIA? Damn if I can find a pretty valuable fixed blade knife of mine, with all the chaos around here the past two months Lord only knows where it is. It's the only unused knife in the house, I figured someday it would pay for a few days stay in the nursing home if/when I'm occupying a bed. I've exhausted the possible hiding spots I can think of.......... What's the latest MIA thingy you've got?
