  1. I'm very surprised at the results of my question. I think (gulp) I'll pass on the shot this year.................
  2. My FIL is 88 and now in a local assisted living joint. He does NOT have a filter...............
  3. All I've heard on TV and other sources about the flu right now has me thinking about a flu shot. I've probably got the flu shot 7 out of the last 10 years I guess. My FIL is in a local assisted living facility (just shy of four weeks now) and it's like;ly he'll be there for quite sometime. There's enough possibility there, believe me. On the local TV tonight they are talking about the 4 people that have died in NYS this year. Sounds like a bad deal.......... Thoughts??
  4. The things I did on Canadice Lake in the 70's could get a guy in jail these days. (or then) We caught lots of fish, just not too many trout. Lots of pan fish, bass and chain pickerel. No fish finders for us then, just a couple broke kids. Sorry for the derail.....
  5. Hell I thought that was Jack Nicholson. Honest injun.................
  6. Cousin Vinnie visiting from the Bronx?
  7. Wonder how many deer killed by members here in NYS were shot at 300+ yards this year??? Heck, I've never killed a deer anywhere at 300+...........(IIRC)
  8. If so, the other deer must have been shot in the ass because he bears a similar "look". Chicago deer??
  9. Jerry........I don't recall how I paid mine but I'm sure the transaction went through. I use Paypal also and assume that's what I used??
  10. I hunted two times in Alabama and it was a good time. No outfitter, just a private owner who's sadly is now deceased. RIP Walter..........
  11. Well played Joe. Good thing winter is over and you could repurpose those driveway markers..........
  12. The thickness is no problem at all. Like you, I'm always wedging sticks behind my cameras to get them where I want them.
  13. As I suspected, fair. A couple hits of Frank's juiced them up enough for the three of us to inhale them in under 3 minutes.
  14. I was hoping nobody asked that question..............I got them at Dash's. 2 packs with 3 half shells each, 30 minutes at 450 degrees. I had to call them a few minutes ago and ask, there were no instructions on the package. Heck, I almost ate them right out of the wrap as they looked soooo good. I know they'll only be fair but WTH, I'm cool with fair.
  15. Warming up with cheese & crackers then clams casino. And beer. Then for the main course; beef rib eye steaks on the grill, green bean casserole and smashed potatoes. I should be snoring in my chair by 6:30..................
  16. Figures you'd hawk-eye that!! Amost everyday carry since 2005 and only a few close calls as to its whereabouts.
  17. LOL.......no tripod mounting brackets on hand. "All that energy"?.......never broke a sweat.
  18. No arrow, just a straight weed stick. Gimme some credit, I'd have spotted an arrow.
  19. Today I spent some time catching up on field work. I swapped out some trail cam cards first and refreshed the batteries in two units. In one of my spots that I used my climber this year (killed a doe with the rifle, tagged her too) I had to tie off a sappling that was in my way. I didn't want to cut it down some tied a hunk of nylon rope to it about 17' off the ground then while on the ground I tied the other end around another tree with enough ummph on it to keep it out of my way while in the climber. Well, the last time I hunted that spot it was a blizzard and I decided to leave the rope for another day. Today was the day.............I took my climber and shimmied up the tree and untied the amazing bowline. (I had a picture I took from the stand but when I inserted it here it was upside down?) Then I cut up the tree that fell on the second day of gun season during another blizzard. Before...
  20. Here's a buck that fed the coyotes, fox and plenty of other critters. Not sure how he died but believe it or not, I am sympathetic.
  21. I took an old muzzleloader powder charge holder thingy and cut a piece out of it. Packed it with bondo then after it hardened up I drilled a smaller hole in it. Then I epoxied the newly machined piece to the spot on the back of the camera where there used to be a lash tab prior to the black SOB snacking on it. Fair?
