What's weird is that it's ONLY "sometimes" that you lay awake! Almost every night, after I wake up around 3:30-4:00am to take a wiz, I'll climb back into the sack and have a hard time getting back to sleep. After a minute or two I start thinking about some of the most recent deer I've killed and how it all went down. Some of the best memories that just don't seem to fade! After 30 minutes or so I'm back in LaLa Land, happy as a clam........

The gals should chime in too. (hey, equal rights and all) 54 yo and started small game hunting at 14 and deer hunting a year later, IIRC. In 1976 the State started a program called Junior Archery and 14 & 15 yo kids could hunt deer (maybe bear too??) with the bow of course. Gun hunting started at 16 yo. Soooo, I'm 40 years into it, legally.

Congrats on the grouse! I've only killed one in my life and, unlike my coyote kills........it WAS on purpose. Hunted them a few times back in the late 80's early 90's and killed my one and called it good. I just never flushed many at all. I did flush one this past weekend by coincidence though........ Did you kill those in Orleans County?

I love to see where anyone was ever ticketed for having an EMPTY gun but ammo "near by" like in his pocket, on the seat, ash tray (WTH is that anyway?) etc. No way..............
