growalot's Contest Thread

"i guess thats turkey hunting!" THAT is a mouth full right there. If and when you THINK you have the crazy SOB's HALF figured out, they'll make you look like a damned fool so fast it'll make your head spin. Good luck tomorrow. -
Nice bird & congrats!

Heck, I didn't even get up. I had my wife draw the blinds and saw the tree tops swaying in the breeze and said, lower the blinds, baby............ I'll bet Pygmy killed one today........................................

TWICE in the past two months I've seen vehicles that have whacked a turkey. One in Tennessee that hit a SUV right in front of me that was UNREAL to see unfold right before my eyes, the damage done to the vehicle was tremendous. The second was a big moving van type (not as big as a tractor trailer but close) on Rt 49 in PA on May 2nd coming back from turkey hunting there. That had the windshield completely caved in. Both vehicles had to be towed. Heavy, expensive & damned scary for the drivers I'm sure. You dodged a bullet today, fasteddie.

I SWEAR some of these guys are using the "pod". Who remembers that? I bet Doc, Sweet old Bil and some of the other old time bow hunters do. IIRC it was legal down south in a few states?? Mississippi was one..... -
Ahhh ha. Not surprising............
-
LOL, I do it especially for the weed control. If I could afford green concrete I would do the entire yard, front to back. <grin>
-
I blame it on the dog......... Funny, in the winter I shovel snow onto the yellow mound then when it melts it's always burned out. My wife gets pissssssed!

We spend a fair amount of time on our lawn. It really doesn't take much to keep it looking good, IMO. Scotts products and a broadcast spreader, twice a year will do WONDERS for a lawn. This past week I planted a couple new trees, a Clump Heritage River Birch (humongous ball!) and spectacular HD Coralburst Crabapple. Bought some flowers and vegetables today that probably won't see home dirt until Monday or Tuesday. Yours looks good, Geo C.

You didn't ask for an opinion but I'll give you one. Shiit can the new one. Don't even waste your money on film or processing, you WILL be disappointed, I promise. Don't even think about it. If you can return it, awesome. If not, chalk it up to experience. $26 isn't enough to worry about. Good heavens, why dump anymore money into film & processing? Save up a few bucks and get a decent one, it won't get stolen............Also, Phade on here seems to be awfully knowledgeable about trail cams and can probably point you in the direction of a good value trail cam. Good luck.................................

Great Site for Pine trees

Here are some opinions of Dan & Guy from a few years ago. Read all of them if you have the time. The ones that speak poorly of Dan are guys with good memories (not good as in positive but as in they remember way back in history) The bass record is one thing that I forgot about. Actually, I didn't even know he was affiliated with the POS Noel Feather. Remember him? How about Kirt Darner? Google those guys. Here is the copy/paste that I mentioned above......... http://leatherwall.bowsite.com/TF/lw/thread2.cfm?forum=23&threadid=213672&messages=5&CATEGORY=3 -
Great Site for Pine trees

Many years ago I ran into Big Dan in a caribou camp. That and watching his early hunting shows gave me enough of a reason to not think very highly of him or his son. -

How does this compare........... http://www.dec.ny.gov/animals/71275.html Pines grow FAST. Don't be sucked in by those snake oil salesman........ -

I wouldn't give the Fitzgerald clan a nickel of my money. If it is not too late, have you checked out a local tree farm or anything via NYS ? That price seems high........ -
So what are you going to do, get even? WTF does that solve? Take the high road as it sounds like TeeBugg is doing. I have PLENTY of people that owe me money right now. I've been stiffed a few times over the 28 years I've owned my business and getting even is the LAST thing I'd consider. Obviously, YMMV.

Nice! Congrats to both of you...

So much HS on hunting shows it's a shame. Good on you WNYBH for pulling the plug on that crap.......... DVR Family Guy, at least you can laugh at that!! -
I think it's time to pull the plug on your buddy. He probably won't recover from the mountain of debt that is piling up. You know what you need to do. Good luck with your decision.....

That's horse shiit. Way to do the right thing.............

Earlier this year I got hacked, well maybe I should say I gave them my info on a silver platter. It was a bogus email that looked so damned official that they sucked me in and I gave them everything but the combo to my gun safe........... What a nightmare, it took a couple days to get it all back to square one. A bunch of my friends got the email saying I was in jail in some Podunk country and I needed bail money. Pizzez me off when I think about it.............
