Two things: I use an Olt owl hooter and really like it. An owl hooter and crow call are two absolutely necessary calls that should be in every turkey hunters bag of tricks. Generally I use the owl hooter from about 4:30am until I hear the first crow. Then I'll use the crow call for most early morning locating. Sometimes, if I know a gobbler is pretty close or maybe coming I'll hoot quietly to see if I can get him to gobble without me making a hen call.

For those that can't .................

A couple questions.......... Will you guys send a letter via USPS or an email? I'll send letters to my assemblyman and senator for my home area (Amherst) encouraging them to vote FOR these bills. Is it OK for me to send a note to the respective assemblyman and senator in the area I hunt of Ontario County for their vote in this?

They certainly seem to have grabbed the ball and ran with it. In the beginning I was skeptical of them but they sure proved me wrong! Hey Mike, why has no other law firm (that I have seen) gotten involved in the fight? I'll pony about some cash for Tresmond if/when it is called for. I'll happily drive to Albany for the next rally rather than take a bus because they will absolutely fill EVERY charter bus in the state and you'll need to secure your own travel. Anybody have a date (calender, not companion!) for it yet?

I guess I'll be the last to know since I wouldn't watch or read any of those.

You know my addy............................ On another note, a friend gave me tickets for this afternoons Sabres game. Great seats but we missed the Sabres two 2nd period goals while sowing down nachos, pizza & Bud Light out in the dining area. My Dr ain't gonna be happy about THAT!! Strange going to a 5:00pm game and leaving for home in daylight!

It's not for my dog. Since Wednesday we have been watching two dogs for a neighbor and it is a HUGE pain in the azz. They are both small but have LONG hair on the legs, body & ears and get soaking wet and muddy every time out to wizz/drop a deuce. They sleep on the couch and shed like nobody's business. When you walk them the one barks at everything and that could be annoying to the other neighbors at 6:30am or 10:00pm. Did I mention they shed? Our Lab is a piece of cake compared to these two.................... I'm just curious what it'll cost them when I decline NEXT time they ask us.

Anybody have an idea what it costs to board a small (15lbs approx.) dog per night? Just curious.......Thanks.

Heck that's no good. On a similar but different note I got in the middle of a dog fight this morning and got a little scratched up. It happened in the literal blink of an eye. I honestly don't know if it is a scratch from a paw or a bite it was so fast........

I've seen biologists stumble over the difference between ages on jaw bones and guys on the 'net can make a guess from a night time picture like above. Like Mel Gibson said, "thin, real thin". Grins

My wife & daughter are on the plane and heading north from Orlando. Plane lands around 10:05 this morning. My son and I survived quite well for the last 6 days, only had pizza once and that was last night. I got a bunch of chores done around the spread......p/u all the remaining dog turds, painted doors, door frames and a couple window frames, 4 loads of laundry yesterday (folded/hung and stashed appropriately) kept the dog and cat alive, only looked at one porn site (thanks Dan and I won't say which Dan!) and ALL the dishes are clean. They went down to visit my wifes father, 84 year old PIA........It certainly wasn't a vacation, more of an obligation unfortunately. They did a couple fun things; air boat ride and another (of many over the years) trip to Gatorland. Welcome to sunny Buffalo!
