I wonder if your local police department would commit to an annual "donation" for range use?? That could be a winner!

My club is $70 a year (I think) and I've never shot skeet or trap so don't know if it costs more. You'll obviously need to increase annual membership costs and maybe have a range fee for the indoor range for the first 5 years or something similar. Maybe host some competitive shoots to raise help with the monthly mortgage on the addition. I'd think the costs of air handling and spent bullet management on a new building would be astronomical in this day an age of OSHA, EPA etc. Have you gotten prices yet?

One year in we were hunting elk in Colorado and sleeping on the ground in a wall tent. The place was LOADED with mice. They would go through the kitchen box, rumble in & out of the pots and pans etc. The last straw was when they spent the night scampering across my pillow all night. No kidding. I spent the remainder of the hunt (3 or 4 nights) sleeping in my truck..............................................

You couldn't give me ANY 35mm camera. I don't care what it is, Leica, Hasselblad or EVEN a Kodak! Really, you should look into a digital trail camera. Some of the higher end ones take wonderful pics. And anyways, what do you really want to print pics of anyway?

He called to say that he went out to grab his morning paper out of the mail box and a thundering gobble hit him from across the road. The big Ol Tom sounded off twice before the 9* temperature was too much for my buddy. NOW I'm fired up! LOL........

Honestly, about 4:30am on May 1st. Certainly not what most will do but I've lost "it" a little for gobblers. Family constraints, work, fuel prices and changing times have done that to me. As stated for years, YMMV. I wouldn't criticize anyone for doing it, just don't mess with them too much.

Funny thing.......I drank from creeks for the first forty (yea, 40) years of my life without a problem. I don't anymore for obvious reasons. As kids we'd drink from creeks, rivers, lakes etc. Guess I just got lucky as I never had the beaver fever!!

If only I didn't carry a mask, gloves, bug spray, shells, a box call, slate call, owl hooter, multiple diaphragm calls, shiit paper, matches, fire starter, compass, water bottle, snack bars, attached seat cushion and pouch to carry the bird I guess I wouldn't need a vest. Until I quit carrying all that crap I'll still be wearing the old vest. Yes Dan, this is the Duxbak vest that Dick Kirby designed many years ago. She sags a bit when you toss 20lbs of shear joy into it! I've sew it back together many times and one zipper is chicken chow mein........

I bought a new 026 Stihl back in 1994. Still runs like a champ! The chaps (as stated above), helmet/shield/muff combo are really important.

As a kid I spent many, many days on Canadice. My mom & dad had a place on Lawrence Hill Rd. from 1969-1983. Fishing, swimming (our secret!) hunting and other wonderful things. I had a buddy who lived up the road that I ran with. We had a boat and oars stashed on the west side of the lake. We'd hike down in the dark from the road with lunches, bait and gear. Fish all day and either hike back up or hitch hike back home on Purcell Hill Rd. Killed more than a bunch of spring gobblers on the side hill also until the ice storm of 1991. Hemlock was a longer hike but we did it plenty of times. Killed deer & turkey their also, but only on the east side of that lake. I hope they don't screw up that area...........
