  1. And (GULP) the Sabres are kicking azz......................................!!!!! The snack sticks look great!
  2. Eggs/melons? Makes now difference to me but one is WAY better as a sammy. grins.....
  3. I can't watch (replay) this type of thing anymore. Poor guy, I hope he heals up 110%.
  4. Nice work ltdh, put a bookmark to it for next year! Happy Birthday, young lady! What's on tap for the day??
  5. Deviled eggs for a side with dinner! Who brought them?? Very nice.......
  6. I think I'm gonna heave............... I've had so many damned egg salad sammys in the last two days I think I'm gonna blow................................. Miracle Whip, green olives and sesame seed topped white bread=my favorite all time combo. Next? Peanut butter and honey on Home Pride wheat. I'm going to try and catch a quick nap and then get ready for dinner. take care all & Happy Easter. Pics to follow!
  7. If it is a future turkey gun and it has a mod, imp cly etc. I'd shoot it with some of the "flight control" (or whatever they call them) shells and see how it patterns first. Some of the new stuff shoots exceptionally tight in those barrels and you might not even want a full or extra full choke. BUT..........we still don't know what the OP even has or wants! If it is a turkey gun deal, Mark Bansner in PA might do it also. He used to do quite a bit with turkey chokes years ago.
  8. What gun and why? Depending on your answer, you'd probably be better off with a new gun! It could cost a chunk to add screw in chokes to a gun. These guys: http://www.briley.com/ have been the king of screw in chokes for years.
  9. And another, Happy Easter to all!
  10. Bow & arrow will be king....................<grin>
  11. YOU SEE WHAT IS THERE NOW? A NUDE DUDE! This place is going to hell in a hand bag...........................
  12. Yes, RIP and thanks for the inline idea.
  13. You ain't makin' your own primers. That's the crux of this entire thing. They can make as much powder and bullets available as they want but if the government makes primers impossible to get, you & I are up a creek. They (primers) are the least expensive part of the equasion, lightest, the most bang for the buck (1000 primers are little more than the size of twp pounds of butter) and you can't do anything without them. Hell, you could have cases, powder and all the bullets you wanted but no primers is going to be a problem.
  14. No I don't. Most of the time I'm within a mile of a vehicle or camp and a cell phone is onboard. When I hunted out west regularly I carried a small first aid kit but I found that many of the components aged fairly fast and were NFG when I needed them.
  15. Opening Day of Trout Fishing is a blast! It is a hoot to see the people and the how into it they are. Nice fish and good folks! The town of Naples comes alive on April 1st. I've been going on & off for almost 40 years and you could count the fish I've caught on one hand............(just don't tell Pygmy!) It's a fun day, weather permitting of course and a HUGE Cabin Fever reliever! Kind of gives a solid countdown to May 1st and I can guarantee you'll hear some gobbling while cruising around. Unfortunately I can't make it this year with Easter tomorrow and my wife & daughter heading south first thing Tuesday but I'll be thinking about it and looking forward to all the stories.
  16. That's a good plan. I'll just have to remember it................... I think 99.999999999999% of these things aren't going to see any survival use (kind of like ccw handguns) but they are stylish and serve a function. It wouldn't be for me but I see no problem with it if you want to spend your bones on it. I almost always have a couple hunks of paracord on me. Typically my only deer drag for the last 15 years has been a 14' length that is tied together to form a 7' loop. I just make a loop around the neck, shorten the entire thing up by making several more loops around the neck then wrap the end around a short (8"?) length of approx. 3/4" diameter dead wood for a handle. I get a chuckle out of guys that use "Glen's Deer Handle" type things.
  17. You ain't gonna believe this Doc, but the answer to your question is right in front of your nose. Actually it is right above your post............ Guys that have plenty of money just figured the heck with it, I'll hoard them. Big deal, spend a couple hundred dollars and get more primers then they could shoot in a lifetime, more than they have EVER loaded in their life to this point. Same with .22 ammo. Guys that haven't shot 5,000 rounds in 40 years on this planet now have 5-7,000 rounds. If a guy stumbles into a store, then finds they have (fill in the blank)_____________on their shelves and they have a few bucks burning a hole in their Wranglers, and blamooooo, they snatch 'em up. End result? Empty shelves. Ammo and component manufacturers are working at full capacity. They could probably double capacity right now and guys would STILL inhale everything that was put on a shelf. We have a problem.
  18. I was in a local gun shop today and spotted a sign.........."Primers/Bullets" Buy 100 bullets, then you can buy 100 primers! Thats the deal. Primers not sold any other way! Love it or leave it. We are so phucked.............................................
  19. Cool, enjoy. Speaking of yard work, I've got a few hundred turds to TRY and scoop up in the backyard from Black Beauty. Some were floating the other day but the water has receded............
  20. happy Birthday! Any big plans? Going for dinner?
  21. Like already posted, you can't win if you don't bet. I'd be surprised to find that the application fee was only $7-10. Update us when you know for sure. If you ever did draw that tag, I'd advise you do anything you can to get the time off from work. It may be easier to find a new job and go when the outfitter says NOW is the time! Good luck. I play the PA elk lottery and have an application in for a Canadian moose hunt drawing but other than those two crap shoots, my biggest gamble is one donut or two...................................
