  1. I was only up there from 9/25 - 9/26. We did a lot of scouting Friday and hunted Saturday and Sunday. I actually found more sign than I anticipated, both deer and bear. The weekend was warm with still a lot of foliage still on the trees. We camped on 101, right on Otter Brook, which is southeast of Icehouse Pond. I hunted a nice area just north west of Helldriver Pond. Lots of sign, great potential for a fall hunt (snow would be perfect). It was still just a little to dense that time of year. There was rumor (though I hadn't seen it, of a Bull Moose with a 50+" spread when we sign out Sunday afternoon. We did see one small spike, a couple of does on the roads when we were looking for firewood. There was also a lot of traffic up there, a few sites were getting set up for the hunting season, It was a lot of fun, can't wait for change to get up there again.

  7. I just camped the Moose River Plains the last week of September. The area offers good Grouse hunting as well as Deer and Bear. Be careful of weather though, any decent amount of snow could cause serious problems.
  8. A friend of mine is missing one of his Bow/Mz tags.
  9. I was reading the "Prohibitions" section of the Migratory regulations. It mentions crossbow and nothing larger than 10 ga, but nothing about Compounds or Long Bows. Any input?
  10. I'm one of six total heading up for the weekend. This is my first time in that area, West Side near Limekiln Lake. Should be a good time regardless.

  14. i'm actually very concerned that Cuomo does get reelected.
  15. As described, there would be no "transfer". Both parties would be sharing the same firearm one being the owner. That is the case in NY correct? How would it be possible to teach the younger generation how to shoot. Tell me if I am missing something.
  16. Ants! What was the proposed law? Never ever heard of anything so redonculous! What does being a Gun Owner have anything to do with shooting sporting clays, sheet or using someone else's legal firearm?
  17. Why isn't the utility company installing it? Usually the provide the first 100ft. I'm sure you could get a pole from them.
