  1. Same here, Ben and I hunted behind our house this am, not a weather app said any rain.
  2. That’s exactly what he did, ran after them and grunted so loud and so long I wish I had it on video,
  3. 8pt on the other end of the plot. He’s walking towards the two doe who just left. Gonna try calling him down here for my son to get a shot.
  4. Last night while coming home around 10:30 we saw 3 bucks on our road and a bunch of doe. Son and I are heading behind the house this am. It’s raining and neither weather app tells me rain:-(
  5. Another thing to note in most cases, what ever end of the plot they walk into they generally funnel all the way across while feeding!
  6. Love the opening statement!!
  7. If you ever wanna tour our place I’d be more than happy after deer season to show you what we have done to enhance food, water and cover. We have a lot in common, I grew up hunting a farm, fields and wood lots to an extent you could hang a stand along the field edge and have a high probability to see and harvest deer. All wooded is a challenge but a fun one that’s well worth it. As gman said different Forrest types is a great one. Lots of opportunity you just have to see the forrest thru the trees!!
  8. Not to much at all!! We have just under a 100, fl area and wish we had more. I call it exactly Adk hunting as ours is 99.8% wooded. It can be tough at times when the deer can wander really anywhere but little improvements can help. Buy it asap!!
  9. You wonder if they feel like these back yards are like heaven to them!
  10. Good call and I don’t think you will regret. I have high expectations until the last week of bow then I lower them a bit other wise I just shoot doe.
  11. Sat in the redneck on a solo hunt. Jumped 2 doe on arrival and then saw these 6 doe. snapped other pic on my drive home, a long cloud divide!
  12. Yeah it’s a terrible spot unless he’s trying to shoot one off our side!
  13. Awesome I’ll be there this weekend with ya!!
  14. This spots mendon. Thought you had a spot there.
  15. Well we have only been out one time since he harvested the doe. He almost had a crack at a small 10pt the other night, so close!! It’s gonna be easier to hunt coming up. Baseballs in the final week and weekend. Cross country ends Nov 3rd and they practice every day of the week:-( Good news is his schedule really opens up when the hunting starts to get good!
  16. Thanks, I have hunted it a few yrs but hadn’t the last two. Seemed like the more options I had the harder it was for me to decide where to go. We probably won’t go there much so I’ll try not to worry about it. It’s a really good morning spot during the rut!
  17. I’d love to setup on the other side but I have limited options for trees and unless I get east winds it’s really no good. I feel like that’s a risk you take hanging a stand right next to the line. I’ll probably set my son up there and me a little further down and it is what it is I guess. I grew up in the town and I may know who's stand that is.
  18. Ok guys, I have another spot I haven’t hunted in a couple yrs. Great spot with some pretty strong bucks. My 12yr old wants to hunt this spot, it’s 7.5 acres. The problem is the neighbor (farm) let’s a bunch of people hunt it and they don’t own a lot of woods mostly fields and hedgerows. Anyways someone has a stand just off our property line along our hedgerow and a finger hedgerow on the farm. I don’t have many locations except near his spot and further up a little ways as it’s perfect for the wind! Since my son and I would be hunting together we have to be in the same stand or really close (2 stands then).I don’t wanna be that guy that sets up on top of someone but at the same time he’s hunting the edge of our land. Attached is a pic. Green line - prop lines Yellow line - deer runs Yellow dot - neighbors stand Red dot - 2 of my stand locations. thoughts?
  19. Most of you have probably seen the pics of our food plot. One feature I’m very happy with is giving what I call the plot structure. I had them leave multiple hemlock trees and a few other. It helped make the plot look like it’s been there a long time and it wasn’t just completely open but also this yr I have a buck this yr that loves bedding next to one particular hemlock tree on many occasions. All of the bedding pics are at night but I’m loving the fact he’s in it so much!! Without that structure he wouldn’t be. So if anyone is thinking about adding a plot you might wanna incorporate this idea!
  20. I tried watching his videos on YouTube, not a fan.
  21. Regardless if there is a name it’s still posted.
