  1. Found this ground nest near my pool, there’s like 4, maybe 5. All deceased with no obvious signs of death. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. that's not a ton of money to get a bike on the road! Do it!
  3. i know unless you're a vip member tapatalk forces the reduced quality upload, but it should at least pop up and give you the option.
  4. you're huntingny turkey hunting legend worthy at least
  5. I missed or rolled my first 2 or 3 birds. I know turkey comes easy to some, but for me it's 10x harder then deer. Be glad you've got the legend calling for you. That'll help to continue bringing them in and for me that was always the hardest part. You're doing a lot of things right by not getting busted. So lets hang our hat on that!
  6. my experience as well, and better for bugs. I do like sitting on the edge of field getting some rays though haha. Only thing that has seems to affect the birds near me, and it's not a hard in fast rule, is heavy rain. Especially an all night soaker.
  7. you're gambling without a fence for rabbits. I know they're unsightly, but a cheap 3' or so fence will save you some tears.
  8. Congrats Pygmy! I think I'd be bummed to be done so early though. I guess there's always red squirrels? haha
  9. ugh frost tonight. glad i only put 4 corn and 3 beans in. Will cover them tonight and the next. f this weather. hope it doesn't take out the stone fruit and apple crops.
  10. I agree with the woods waking up part. Have had some good days by going in around 8:30, when life just doesn't allow for 4am, but man that is by far the best part for me, even over filling a tag on some days. Real cruddy first 2 days for me, but the time in the woods was much needed.
  11. i've learned with turkey, hearing a shotgun blast doesn't mean any bird died and in fact it's like a 50/50 haha. but still, i've also learned that they don't like being shot at and can get skittish real quick and become much, much harder to hunt.
  12. About time to stretch my legs I think. Only problem is that I feel a faint knocking at the back door if you know what I mean. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. It’s a beautiful thing Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. A little more concerned today. Friday I played off as in too late, wet morning, birds somewhere else. But this morning was textbook and the birds aren’t nearby. Even if I’m not in the right spot, I’m usually surrounded by gobbles and only a few so far off in the distance. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. What about corn that’s already like 4” high? And maybe green beans? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. Thinking of trying to put some in the ground tomorrow (Monroe county) Still too soon? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. Quite morning, and now time for a nap, my favorite part Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. If you can see a turkey hunter from your truck, he’s doing something wrong haha Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. What does it say about me when most of my excitement waking up that early is thinking about my nap!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Same. Was in bed at 9 and couldn’t fall asleep till much later. A restless sleep too of course as I’m still a 12 year old with excitement Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. Rain cooperated, but only 2 lone distant gobbles. Usually this spot is on fire early in the year. Was late getting in of course and I forgot my water in the truck, not bad for the first morning rust haha Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. getting up early sucks. So I try to break it up. I have to hunt the opener, can't help myself. Planning on tomorrow and sunday. Both days are supposed to rain... but 2 4am days in a row, especially after a month of waking up at 8 is a tough task for my candy ass.
  23. should have snapped a pic. 3rd cut of the year on Tuesday. Baby is super green and dandelion free.
  24. most of my buddies stopped riding, so when I go out it's a quick errand that doesn't require more than a backpack or maybe a ride into work. But I spend the whole ride hyper-vigilant and I often think how much nicer it'd be in my truck sipping a coffee. The whole ride is anticipating someone making a bad decision...
