  1. well shit... I stand corrected, there is more to it. lol
  2. eh, an x or a cross, it's all the same
  3. congrats buddy. welcome to the world of parenting. sleepless nights, less money, less social time, but a greater reward. Glad mom and baby are doing well.
  4. I dont struggle at all. One is natural and is a great pollinator for bees and a home for birds and part of the ecosystem, and if you do it right might even provide some food for the family. The other is not natural, it's exactly what it sounds like, bait. And when piled can and will cause disease transmission, where a tree's dropped apples (if they even make it to the ground, many get eaten off the branch or quickly when they do drop) are spread more evenly and far less likely for saliva sharing.
  5. i see what he did there haha PS this shouldn't be taught anywhere in schools. No partisan nonsense should. Let kids form their own damn beliefs.
  6. my dad is the same way, but with a good quality non-harborfreight 1/4" drive torque wrench, a lead sled or gun vice and a bottle of loctite you're good to go for all your future scope mounting needs. Bolt actions are easy to boresite without fancy lasers too, but I also think they make adjustable boresite lasers? Not sure how cheap or effective they are though.
  7. agreed, i had a bit of a hang fire this year that I attribute to it pooring rain the day before and then snowing sideways the day of. tape on the barrel and everything, but agree that this does offer a nice solution to wet powder... only concern I'd have about the gun is what happens if they change the design or stop making the loads...
  8. hard balance. same can be said of the recurve vs compound. On one hand I'm totally with you on a little challenge and that's ultimately how I feel. On the other, we are losing numbers like crazy and like it or not, there's already a huge barrier to entry for hunters and thus emerges cheap and efficient smoke poles and the crossbow.
  9. in theory the economy should help, but most aren't seeing it. it's really hard to find the talent we've been looking for, and so are many others. One way to attract talent is through benefits. Competition is good for us employees, and yet the health care keeps dwindling and they offer up stuff like "wear jeans to work" instead. F your jeans, I don't want to pay $1500 for insulin ya dicks.
  10. If aliens visited this planet they would question why we didn't just encapsulate the bullet and the primer in one. To which we would explain that we have, many, many years ago. But this is new and makes it easier for us to hunt deer for 10 more days. If you think of it out of context it's pretty funny.
  11. i wonder if someone's posts get deleted when they're banned. that one was easy to find in the past.
  12. if you let your drain get so bagged that there's standing water, you're doing it wrong. Check it every few months and avoid the headache with a little PM
  13. if you're overwhelmed, it's not to hard to just start. The earlier in your career the better obviously, but some employers like mine even make it easy. You can select a fund based on your target retirement date. Earlier on it's aggressive with stocks and as it ages (with you) it becomes more conservative so that you don't lose your shit 5 years before retirement (See 2006). Simply selecting a fund and contributing at least what your employer matches is the first and easiest step. You'll miss your 8-15% at first and then you'll just be used to it. From there I'd suggest you meet with a financial adviser and work from there based on YOUR situation. You cannot take advice from strangers on the internet because all of our situations are different. With the exception of course of at least getting your 401k going. That step is unquestioned and the first step. Next, pay off debt haha
  14. plus when it's 15* outside there's nothing nicer than warm steamy deer guts on my cold ass hands
  15. you mean you didn't take papist's advice and liquidate everything and buy canned goods?
  16. if you have a removable stopper it's almost easier to just dig in there with a finger or needle-nose. I know in our master there's like a cross that holds the stopper and i can run my fingernail along the top and if i catch the right piece of hair i can end up lifting something that would make a navy seal weak in the knees... but again, super satisfying... like popping a pimple.
  17. i disagree, i think it's rewarding. For a shower if you're able to get one of those hair monsters up in one piece... oh man so gross, but then the flow is oh soo good.
  18. that's a new one for me. so is empirehunting. but sounds like some good drama.
  19. he wont be out of the league, but he wont get big money. his track record is there and clear. Sure he's helped his stock, but he is what he is at this point in his career. At least he's staying healthy. A reminder that Evans, OBJ, Benjamin and him were all in the same draft and he was first. While OBJ has regressed and Benjamin is a joke, I'd easily still take Evans.
  20. I dont think there's a guy out there who has ever wanted his real deer skull...
  21. good explanation and from someone who isn't just tacticool. Thanks for your service.
  22. watkins can sit and spin, but I do have some love for shady. Not just as a bill but for his career. I haven't heard why he hasn't been playing though, have they released anything?
  23. never shot one. I always figured though that the .223 was more common in the military because of recoil. Ignorant topic for me, but makes me wonder why not the AR10
  24. happy for the chiefs, easy team and fanbase to root for. Was pulling for the packers too, but these niners aren't playing. Should be a hell of a superbowl with that offense vs that defense. And 95% of us can just agree to be happy the pats aren't in it!
