  1. it looks like there's a large iguana on that middle tree in the background. kinda creepy. anyone else see it?
  2. Anyone else see this? Doesn’t make a lot of sense. Bird hunters maybe? But night photo... Genesee County hunter shot http://www.whec.com/news/hunter-shot-pavilion/4643294/
  3. it is good to draw from time to time. especially when it gets cold. Keeps your muscles loose, and if it's really cold it'll break the noisy frost up that's growing on your jacket lol.
  4. really though. she claims to have her watch beep when official sunrise and sunset hit. I'm ok with all that. Trying follow every rule and law is what we should all aspire to. But when she's called out on something she will never back down with a simple "oh my bad, thanks for clarifying". It just turns into a battle trying to prove she wasn't wrong. We're all wrong from time to time. that's the last I'll say of it here. not the place.

  6. there is no "best". I personally like my buck knife. mostly because it was given to me by my father when i started hunting. But it's not too bulky, folds up nice and holds a good edge. I like the idea of the havalon with the replaceable blades. no doubt they are awesome... but I kind of like sharpening the old buck knife. I have a the outdoor edge field processing kit that usually runs $50 for the butchering process. Not great knives but they do the job at a decent price. http://www.cabelas.com/product/Buck-Knives-Folding-Hunter-Knife/714031.uts?slotId=2 http://www.cabelas.com/product/Outdoor-Edge-reg-Game-Processor/747253.uts?slotId=1
  7. before revoking retrieval rights i'd start with a conversation about their approach. Don't go 0 to 100 without at least having a convo. You never know when you may need his help with a deer of yours that dies over there. revoking retrieval rights hurts nobody but the deer who would become a waste life. in my opinion.
  8. I did this for the first time in a while friday night. But only because it was a new stand and sort of a tricky shot. Also mostly because it was a bb, and we all know how dumb they are. I would not do this on any doe as it's not worth educating them on my stands. the idea is good, but i just dont think the reward is worth the risk.
  9. you have to sit back 6' and zoom in on the rack for that rack to look bigger
  10. how dare you call out grow. she knows all laws and regulations.
  11. knehrke said it well. No, not all crossbow hunters are bad. But the gun only hunter converting to archery is going to bring about some issues like this in some cases.
  12. It’s not easy or ideal to range the deer when they’re present, that’s why I recommend knowing the distances of your shooting lanes and if it’s fairly open, keeping s mental record of distances around you based on markers. For example I’ll mark a stump at 35 and know anything before that is fair game and Anything after isn’t. I use only 2 pins so it also serves a nice marker to use my second pin. For most hunters generally anything under 30 can be handled by a single pin. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. A crossbow only guy too? This is what we we’ve been talking about folks. A whole new breed and mindset entering the archery woods. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. No not you. I’m sure if I cared i could find him on the member list. Had a pic once with a cig in his mouth and his 3 kids just breathing in the goodness next to him. Needless to say he didn’t take kindly to my advice. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. My family eats a lot of ground. I used to save a steak but now I just grind them up. Steaks outta the back, chops and everything else goes in the grinder Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. That’s what rangefinders are for. Know your distances at Your stands. Pick trees/stumps whatever and know their distance. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. You and me were in the same boat this morning lol Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. There are some decent YouTube videos out there for bear. One I think is Colorado fish and game that I like. Don’t worry about fleshing paws or the head. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. Warmed up significantly in 8f. Was warm to begin with but didn’t want to sit at home. Nothing is moving on what is now my 4th sit. Might be my first without any action. And Mother Nature didn’t let me sit comfortably so I’ve left my mark on the stand too [emoji23] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Archery 101 man... but we’ve all been there. He will be back so long as he didn’t see you. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. Could be brisket too. Broadside liver should be a pass through. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. Is there anything worse than nature knocking at the door early on in your sit? Ugh Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. Ditto. Not a fan of ground blinds for bow. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  24. Man this story is odd... also, unless your doe was a piebald or albino, all deer are the same color. You’re not i.d’ing them that way. And why would you call the law if you were growing pot? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
