Would you shoot him or let him pass?

what ARs have you seen that wouldn't allow for that spread/beam length or 3 points on 1 side? -
someone probably knows better than I do, but when we had the issue and did some quick research we actually found that the damaging of terrain/vegetation carried a much stiffer fine than trespassing.

Who is saying it's an enigma? I think what some hunters fail to realize, and I believe it's because they've never left the town they were born in, is that most states don't have it exactly right. I don't think that would ever be possible either. Humans, by nature are never satisfied and at the same time resist change. I believe the issue is though, that some states certainly do it better. I do disagree however regarding hunter density. NY is a big ass state. Some areas are certainly hit harder than others, but land access really seems to be a bigger issue here than i've seen in other states.

Can we not just all agree that there are different levels of "rule breaking". I'm so sick of the driving with a cell phone argument being compared to poaching, or a salt lick being the same thing as spot lighting. Not all rules are the same. The goody goodies on this site are hilarious. How boring your life must be. and also, get a new car, they all come with bluetooth.

A store is not responsible for your inability to follow the rules. If it were, every gun store would be responsible if you decided to put more than 7 rounds in your mag or use it to commit a crime. -
What will cause you to drop a dime on another hunter?

nobody is advocating not calling out trespassers grow. seems everyone here would call on a guy trespassing their property or a lease. If it's a neighbor however I call the land owner and let them deal with it. -
it is fun, but the bad apples who let their dogs run your property ruin it. My understanding is that dogs can run posted property without consequence (owner plays dumb). tell me that wouldn't piss you off? Full draw and then out hops the neighbors dog...

wearing a backtag in noway proves you have a right to be on someones land. It is also not illegal to be in the woods without one. Secondly, most intelligent trespassers and poachers aren't wearing their tags anyhow. It's basically the safe act. punish the law abiders while not addressing the breakers.

missed these 2 on my list. But I still think NY likes the coyote. Helps lower their herds.

my dad worked at kodak and my mom was a teacher. worked great for them as well. till kodak finally kicked my dad to the curb after 34 years at the age of 58.

hunting a few other states in my life, i think the biggest difference is hunters per square mile. If I remember right I think NY is #1 or very close to it. Pair that with the fact that down south, owning anything less than 100 acres is considered small. In NY if you have 5 you own a lot. Deer down south are smaller. You need to shoot more, but the seasons are longer. The hunters a bit lazier but overall more relaxed. Hunting is a way of life, but rarely are hunters so pitted against each other as it seams they are here. Although I believe that has to do with land access being much easier. The biggest issue the south has is dogs. There's a good 50/50 split on running dogs. And when you are impacted by them, you'll quickly join the anti-dog crowd.

we had a trespasser who cut a lot of saplings and branches. We lease the property and the land owner was pissed. We knew who the culprit and the guy called and was basically in tears asking him not to press charges. Trespassing is trespassing, but it's a whole new ball game when you alter the woods. I'd try to catch him on a cam and get charges filed. that's just BS.

depends on other deer i'm seeing and your time in the woods. Meaning, if you've set aside plenty of days and are capturing more mature bucks on your cams I might let him walk. But honestly that's a lot of talk. I'd probably drill him in a heartbeat. -
I'll admit to never having worked a state job. But I've dealt with many state workers. No, they're not all the same. But the level of effort and time that goes in to a private industry job and what's expected of a state employee is laughable. Sure my pay is better, but those benefits...

exactly. there was not one post about overlooking violence, not helping someone in danger or reporting major safety issues. however calling the HOA because my grass is to long,or the dec because there's a salt lick in my woods or I'm using an illegal broadhead... that's just silly. I honestly think some people make it their business to dime people out. I don't get it. -
sunrise sunset +30 barbed broadheads setback still a little too far, but kudos for making the changes wearing of backtags doe only first 2 weeks gun season needs to be shortened mz needs extending into january xbows legal in gun late only that's my list

I spent 8 years of my career dealing with CFRs and NYCRR 6. the game laws are only a small portion. the whole thing is mind blowing. http://www.dec.ny.gov/regulations/regulations.html

welcome to the forum. You clearly know nothing about me and have made up your mind regarding one post. I figured a guy named vinny tagalucci would understand what happens to rats. good luck to you this season. remember the speed limit is 55. Not a mph more.

the cost of a check station and staffing etc seems like it would never fly across the whole state.

1. So you're browsing facebook and an associate but not a close friend posts a pick of a nice buck they got with a bow. In the picture you see a rage 3 blade. Do you send the pic to the dec? He hunts nowhere near you and everything else is legal. 2. So you're browsing facebook and an associate but not a close friend post a pick of a nice buck but it was shot on 10/9 in a doe only area. Do you send the pic to the dec? He hunts nowhere near you and everything else is legal. 3. So you're browsing facebook and an associate but not a close friend post a pick of a nice buck with his bow. You have already seen a nice buck he shot earlier. Do you send the pic to the dec? He hunts nowhere near you and everything else is legal. -

this comment infuriates me every time i read it. i see it multiple times, every year. If you don't understand the difference between a bait pile and natural growing crops than you need to do a little reading.
