worried about this spring. this winter is going to hurt the deer and turkey. the deer might be better off for it, but the turkeys really can't afford it.
-
I know, same here. Just figured for the sake of others reading they should be aware. But don't try going to explain to the warden that big 12 point was attacking you in September I guess this is similar to the moose that was shot off the snowmobile.

good to point out the gun. i shoot a ruger 10/22 as well. some guns like some bullets better and vis versa.
-
he's not that bad.

If I'm not mistaken it's perfectly legal to shoot an animal like a yote if you feel you or your family is in danger.
-
I had a box of 500 4 or 5 years ago that I finally finished up a few years ago that shot just fine. idk. I do little plinking, but just gradual shooting and hunting and no issues.

Been a DIY mechanic for many years for almost anything, and newer is outta my range anyhow. Sounds like 400 is the way to go as this won't be for plots or snow... And I could always upgrade later. I have a Yamaha bike but I think Honda seems to have a loyal following and a good machine. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Interesting point. I ride a motorcycle so I'd be used to the foot shift Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

the honda foreman seems solid, but not sure they will be anywhere near my range. Not sure I really care about auto-transmission as I just need a no frills body hauler. Nice to have, and need are 2 different things right. I for sure agree that 400 is minimum. As far as not using it to plow and stuff, would I really need anything bigger than a 500 like the grizzly?

Toying with the idea of picking up a used ATV. Almost solely for the use of retrieving game (deer), nothing to do with getting into a stand. Needs to be capable of some semi-steep incline and decent. What are some good makes and models? What's a price I should expect for an older, no frills model?

It seems there was this notorious poacher, that lived in the woods not far from town, gorging himself on venison and ruffed grouse the year round, and was famed far and wide for his cunning and sagacity in avoiding the clutches of the law. But, when a new game warden was appointed for the area he soon heard about the Old Poachers wicked ways and vowed to apprehend him in short order. And so one cold windlass night he snuck out to the Old Poachers cabin and hid a few hundred feet from the building, figuring he could follow the old reprobate on his early morning expedition and catch him litterally red handed. It wasn't until nearly 5:00 AM., that a light appeared in the cabin window, and shortly afterword the Old Poacher came out onto the porch in his long johns and hollered, "Warden, you'll catch your death of cold out there, c'mon in here and have a cup of hot coffee..!" The warden, half frozenand totally baffled, went in and had a cup of coffee, but warned the old man that he was determined to cure him of his anti social attitudes and lawless habits. Reckoning the poacher had somehow got wind of his mplans he resolved to take no chances next time and a few weeks later, announced to his deputies and friends and even to his wife that he would be out of town visiting his mother in a distant city, he once again snuck out to the poachers cabin under the cover of inky darkness and lay in wait for the old man. Again the light came on about 5:00 AM., and again shortly thereafter, the poacher appeared on the porch and bellowed," Warden, you must be plumb froze!!! Better git on in here and warm up!! the coffees b'iling." The warden blue with cold and black of mood, went in and had a cup of coffee. Years later, hearing that the old man was on his death bed, the lawman went to see him. "How in the name of sin did you know I was out there in the bushes??" he asked. The old man chuckled, "Warden," he said, "I've been walking out on that porch and hollering like that for forty years..."

Who carries every day? What do you carry?

shoot me first? I could also see it to be a "don't rob me" vest too. Can go either way. Not a lot different from the gun pouches/fanny packs. I prefer my NRA sticker and camo hat. This guy probably has a gun... haha -

of course. Winter, fall and spring can allow for this. Summer can be a little harder to carry a full frame 1911 concealed. It doesn't mean you shouldn't carry, but I think one has to make a choice if they'd weather sweat a little in the summer and carry a bigger gun, or not sweat and carry smaller. There's also the fact that you might look out of place with a hoody on in the summer. I think maybe the loose fitting polo works best in the summer with an IWB. I make the same choice everytime I put on my leather jacket and ride my motorcycle on a 90* day. Rather sweat than bleed. -
best feature of the matthews quiver in my opinion. pops right in, pops right out. guess if i had a gripe it would be my rage heads popping open in the quiver. not sure how to solve that.

you must not have read my other posts. it was a joke. -
quit telling me what to do brah! haha

interesting. Honestly I have always owned a stock matthews. I always "reload" but never really had a follow up shot, although I know some who have. So I couldn't justify $200.

glock 23. Right size and caliber in my opinion. I plan to pick up an lcp for those times where the compact is still too big. I do not carry every day. i'd recommend an lc9 if you're a big enough guy to handle the kick from the small frame gun vs an lcp though. Most who don't shoot a lot cannot. -
