Governor Announces Support for Crossbows in NY

I didn't call you a liar I just asked for proof of your 20% statement. All of this is still just anecdotal evidence Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk -
I'm pretty sure they return. Had one in a tree every year I lived in my house in Alden. Always wanted to investigate but it was high Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Scary really. I'll be the first to admit that as sportsman we don't help ourselves by arguing within over issues like ARs, crossbows and setback rules. However, I believe that these arguments simply demonstrate our passion and do not necessarily endanger our sport. But when we're more divided then I think a lot of us thought over constitutional rights... that's scary. We knew there was opposition as there always has been with gun control legislation, but to discover many gun owners themselves are ok with it? man... -

it'll be pushed along and our VP will tell us that we should all have a crossbow under our beds to protect ourselves from the bad guys. Of course, we're still allowed to fire warning shots with our shotgun. -

while i agree that if you do something to warrant the loss of your guns, then the system works and I support this part of the law. I believe the argument was that sometimes all it takes is a pissed off wife to claim you're violent (when you're not) and away with your guns. And because you can't hunt with a compound or a crossbow you lose the ability to hunt in NY. We all know that the male never wins the domestic case. -

For someone averaging 7 deer a year and who currently cannot use a crossbow, you're going to have to fling quite a few arrows without your firearm should (and you can never predict what will happen) you lose your guns. I guess we're all struggling with your view on this as it clearly hurts sportsman, whether it affects you directly or not. We don't all reload, we don't all have a stockpile of ammo. Adding $10 to an ammo purchase and perhaps more regulations to come, i'd think you'd support the cause. It wasn't too long ago that NY went to the 10 round mag limit. Now we're at 7 with pre-ban outlawed. Is it really not fathomable to you that they could keep going? -

I must also assume that he agrees with cuomo and that our kind is not welcome in this state... And he calls conservatives narrow minded? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk -

You just made some friends. I too don't have any assault weapons but I'm not ignorant enough to think they won't keep coming for more. Your .308 will soon be classified as a sniper rifle (for shooting up the power grid) then you may have wished you supported your fellow gun owners earlier. One would think the simple principal of the law being unconstitutional would gather your support... Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk -

I'm not "using" it, but many said they would vote against anything he supported I agree it sucks to have this issue tainted by him. However, I don't think you can deny that this is him trying to throw sportsman a bone. If we accept it, it's almost like saying thanks bud. All is good now. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk -

We were talking about the 150' rule. I had to bring it back on track because we already have a thread on that Winners can be cocky. It's a head scratcher when the losers are cocky. It's his only response to the debate. He don't know no better ya huck huck. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk -

Welcome to the debate. You've missed years of back and forth. Probably while you were shooting and loosing the many deer you "needed" this year. Had you been involved a while back you would know that most of us support the use of crossbows for elderly and handicapped. And who are you to determine which leap is not greater? You can piss and whine all day because your relatives and you are not allowed to use crossbows, but those that DO have a say have made it illegal and that's all that matters. I'm not wasting my time with your other questions as they've been answered a bizillion times already. But I'll remind you the it's not "primitive weapon" season here in NY. It's archery season so I could care less about your flintlock. And I'll leave you with this. It's not all about filling tags for everyone. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk -

Ah yes, brilliant reply. It's the first I've heard that one. Lol. But the leap from a recurve to self drawn compound is one thing but the leap to a fully cocked, no draw required, pull the trigger, on a bipod with scope? Not exactly the same eh? Great contribution. Please continue to support Cuomo's bill.Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk -

I must admit. You are the cockiest bunch of "losers" I've ever know. The whole groups tone is "just wait till next year, blah, blah" it's been like that every year and you keep losing. It's sad really Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk -

we're already talking about the 150' rule in another thread. this thread is about the evil crossbow and how it will ruin hunting for true elite nonpumpkin 870 toting yee-haws! come on guys! -
i noticed that this morning too. hate that this forum doesn't allow you to edit later on. i too can blame it on my ipad... but I just think grow is funny. I haven't see a "today it's snowing" thread from her in a while though. But I do have a good list of chapters for her book going.
