Is he in some thick, thick sh!t? I had to get on hands and knees last year for. Great double lung gun hit that just didn't bleed until he piled up. I was lucky to find him buried under a briar patch. Good luck dude

Looks like I wasn't alone in being confused bubba. I'm not sure where I personally attacked you either. Let me correct you now. 1. I'm a registered voting conservative republican. 2. Google is an excellent tool to retrieve knowledge and facts. This is how I learn, shutting technology out of your life will result with you being left in the past. 3. What do you do for a living? What is your education? 4. I own guns. Love them. Have a scope sign in my yard. Love hunting with them. If you're a bowhunter, why would you want people using guns during archery? Will you put a bipod and scope on your crossbow when they legalize them? 5. Oh wait... They're still illegal. 6. If you have ideals and values and an organization shares them (just like your progun groups) now those values are no longer yours? They're the organizations? They cannot be both? I've been anti xbow for a while. Just joined NYB this year. The NRA 2 years ago. Supporting organizations I believe in. 7. Thanks for attacking me personally. And then lauding to the fact that my opinions do not bother you, but you were driven to a lengthy post instead of ignoring it. Hypocrite.

URGENT!!!!!! I NEED HELP ASAP PLEASE. BUCK Stuck with ARROW!
Five Seasons replied to cd32505n's topic in General Chit Chat
Especially to an untrained eye. Heck just this year alone I thought I had a big spike basically living behind my house until I saw him sparing with another spike on my cams. So there are actually 2 spikes and I had assumed the one spike was the bb I had behind my house last year. -

Winning post! -
These are all proven scientific studies. I'm not arguing anything. What's to argue?

the other thing to consider is the shot. Sometimes as hunters we may take a more difficult shot at a bigger buck. But sometimes when you get that "perfect" "easier" shot at a smaller deer it's one you need to take sometimes.

this is how I hunt. My standards start high. As the season goes on however, my goal to shoot a wall hanger may change to a goal of shooting a 2.5 or better. I am working towards a no yearling management method with my father and we've both decided that if we stick a yearling it's not the end of the world, but if we need to fill the freezer there are a bizillion doe that we could harvest first. I have no issue with someone deciding to shoot a yearling late in the season when they wouldn't early on, but I would say this person is out of touch if they're passing yearling early on because they want to "grow their herd". Because it doesn't matter when you harvest that yearling, but IF.

people are funny. they will tresspass if they dont think someone is watching. they may also decide you have a good spot and wait for you to leave. idk...

deer will travel. him being in your driveway does not mean he was shot there. it sounds like he was shot from a stand at a steep angle, which is not preferred but not illegal and certainly not someone shooting into the air and it landing on the deer. Deer are tough and generally survive bad arrow wounds pretty well. -
so, because either i'm a dumbass or youre not being clear. Are you saying that you'd be for them using firearms during archery season?

Best bang for your buck gear
Five Seasons replied to bk225's topic in Hunting Gear Reviews and Gear Discussions
i swear by whitewater gear. fleece lined with wind and rain blocker. i believe robinson outdoors bought them so it's hard to find or now it's rebranded as scent blocker with some added cost. but i have some midweight and heavyweight stuff that is great for any condition. I wear a scentlok lined ghilie suit during early bow and i dont think i've ever been busted. -
thanks. i thought it was obvious, but I guess not.

grow, i'm surprised with how much you mow and tend your trails. I don't know your area at all, but I've been a believer with leave it alone post september. dont want to disturb scrapes and the area at all if you can. I really dont even like doing much work at all after April if I can. It may not affect the doe, but the big guys will avoid these open areas most of the time anyhow. Good luck though, i have no doubt it does work for you. good luck to those hunting in the rain today.

ditto. btw, how did you find this out? I was surprised to see people post multiple deer on facebook and figure it's no big deal. like really?
-
if that didn't come out of my post, that is what i was trying to get at. haha

So you're ok if we eliminate handicapped parking spaces and allow anyone to park their too? my point is that you're obviously a big firearm advocate. I'm actually thankful that you are and tip my hat to that. I own several long guns and have a CC. But for those reasons, your opinion on this subject means less to me. I'm sure you don't care, but it doesn't. It's similar to the non-bowhunter who has an opinion. You're all entitled to it, but it means less unless you're out with the stick and string right now and have been for years.

ok I left this thread yesterday morning on page 8. Can someone give me cliffs on why this doubled in 1 day? I'm not reading all that haha.

Lets not just focus on rack size. Studies have shown the temp doesn't necessarily alter rack size, but drastically alters deer size. Compare a WI buck that needs the size to survive the harsh winters with a Texas buck and it's no contest. The racks in the midwest are generally a result of excellent feed, and the correct feed to grow the deer and their antlers.

driving a car on a city street and driving a car on a highway. Still driving with different types of risk wearing orange walking on the ground (where deer are) and not wearing it in the tree (where deer are not). what am I missing in this analogy?

there is babying and then there is poor parenting. neither are good. letting a kid into the woods at a young age with a firearm because it's legal does not make it right. I am thankful to be raised right. Taught right from wrong, proper gun safety and the importance and significant of killing an animal. There sure are plenty of kids who can handle hunting at a young age. There are plenty that can't and if you make it legal, the bad parents out there may end up raising someone interested just in shooting and not hunting. You can't legislate for everything, you can only do the best you can.

i'd say 2 for sure
