  1. Italy is past the apex, NYC is 2-3 weeks behind them. Hopefully this next week or the one after will be our apex. I am also hoping it doesn’t destroy every small town in America.
  2. Hospitalization rates for flu are 1-2%, Covid is @15%. Treatment and recovery is much longer with Covid, which fills the needed beds and occupys the vents. The US is way short on beds per person, can’t keep up with ppe demand and there is not enough staff to work the hospitals. While the flu is seasonal the numbers are from a whole year and typically only estimates.
  3. Flu ranges 12-60k deaths in the US, this will blow past that with estimates at 100-240k deaths in the US. The flu numbers take a year to hit, this won’t. It spreads more and patients deteriorate much faster.
  4. It’s easier to social distance up here, unfortunately some will never listen and continue to do as they always have there by spreading it. I had a dude get to close to me this week like we were bro’s, damn near throat punched him. Im sure the situation will continue to change daily and there will be something else for folks to complain about or discuss today, tomorrow and next week.
  5. Hey someone has to drive the sick folks to the hospital. My wife is a RRT, I drive tractor trailer delivering freight and my son works in a grocery store so I guess we’ll just keep on keeping people alive, fed and supplied.
  6. There are a large amount of businesses that are still going strong thankfully, they are the only thing keeping the country alive.
  7. You were replying to what is current going on, not what the report from years ago said. Stay with me
  8. Prove you wrong on something that never happened? Lol ok You are they type of internet persona that is limited in understanding of any given topic and can only relate back to things they can copy and paste. Even when proven wrong you ask for more info proving yourself wrong.
  9. Twat The feds could have organized resources instead of states scrambling against each other for supplies. The states weren’t asking to buy because they wouldn’t be the ones buying them hospitals would. Every one was told it would just go away and it was hoax remember?
  10. Prove it. The report never states that. On top of that stop making stuff up. It’s a reoccurring theme with you, 98 pound coyote, suicide rate higher than covid, male gov of Rhode Island ect ect
  11. Basically it was either give them to us or we ship you positive cases. My wife’s hospital sent 7 which were technically some of the 11 the state gave them a few years ago.
  12. Hate to break it to you but the economy pales in importance to lives, and it’s already doomed by the way. Millions are out of work nation wide and companies are shutting down with no way to continue. There is no way to keep everyone home for 30 days or enforce such a rule. People need to take responsibility and stop pointing the finger or waiting for the government to tell them what to do.
  13. Same here, I can’t recall the last time I set foot in any store larger then the feed store honestly
  14. Many stores are going to that model not just Walmart. Sadly, some will still not get it and will complain or find a way to be to close to the next guy.
  15. Are you not comprehending? 6 feet is just one way to limit the chance of spread, expanding on that and using more precautions is better. Avoiding interaction all together is the best thing to do.
  16. I actually think if the feds took better control the states wouldn’t be able to make terrible decisions like they are (redistribution of vents). PS Anyone want to know why there aren’t vents available from the companies that sell or rent them to hospitals? Because they sent everything that they had overseas to the highest bidder knowing the US would need them.
  17. Unfortunately I don’t think that will be enough to keep folks safe. Every thing they touch is going to transfer to the next person, ie door handles, seats, bibles ect
  18. The governor reversed that decision and is now allowing churches to hold services.
  19. Opinions aren’t facts. The entire point of your thread was based on fake news that Cuomo was told to purchase vents. The report never said that and showed what would happen when a catastrophic illness strikes. If you bothered to read and understand the actual report instead of opinion pieces designed to fire you up you would be better off. None of this changes the fact that neither state or federal government are equipped to deal with such events. And all this time guys like you want less government are now clamoring for more including martial law, though you may not realize it because you haven’t read a internet opinion piece that tells you what to think yet.
  20. From the actual report these fake stories cite. More info here, https://www.factcheck.org/2020/03/trumps-misleading-ventilator-counter-punch-at-cuomo/ Q: Can the State stockpile as many ventilators as would be needed in a severe pandemic? A: Even if New York State purchases additional ventilators, the demand would quickly outpace supply in a severe pandemic. No matter how many ventilators are available, in a severe pandemic there will be shortages because so many people will be sick at the same time. In addition, even with enough ventilators, a sufficient number of trained staff may not be available to operate them, particularly because health care workers will be among the ill. Q: What can hospitals do to reduce the demand for ventilators in a pandemic? A: Before the Guidelines are implemented, hospitals should practice “surge capacity” to reduce the need for ventilators. For example, elective procedures that require ventilators should be canceled and/or postponed during the period of emergency. For a moderate pandemic, surge capacity practices may be enough to meet the increased demand for ventilators. However, in the event of a severe pandemic, surge capacity measures would still fall short of addressing the anticipated demand for ventilators.
  21. There are no extra people. He’s on the same shit Trump is on lol. Agencies are offering 6K a week for Respiratory Therapist to go down to NYC. Non Covid patients were supposed to be the only ones transferred, we’ll see how long that lasts before it’s anything goes.
  22. 19 as in 2019 when it began. Just to further clarify your post.
  23. Not true surprisingly. We have been delivering to them more than ever actually (Fedex) With that being said, call around because demand for ammo is high.
