  1. Oh and the eggs are an acquired taste, I hated them but some folks love them. Taste kind of bitter to me.
  2. That’s another thing, ducks don’t roost like chickens so they are easy for any predators to kill. I had rats get some, bite them in the neck to kill and then couldn’t carry them away. Had an owl come in and get stuck inside the covered pen once too. For some reason they like to take heads off birds, strange behavior. Had a hawk get stuck in the chicken run too, both are super friendly birds to remove from a confined area. Then there was the raccoons, I trapped those bastards and put a cap in them while my daughter cheered, vengeance served. Skunk was the worst last summer, it kept getting in the meat bird pen to get the food and it would kill some chicks while it was at it. I finally trapped it and it sprayed during the dispatch process. Man the stench was bad, and it was 95 that day so it really lingered. Any way, I’d rather keep 20 chickens over 6 ducks any day.
  3. Ducks are by far the worst poultry we have had, they make a complete mess and crap more than an over weight lab with the runs. They root around with their bills in the dirt which turns to mud in a day. We kept some for a while for eggs and now they are in my freezer.
  4. I have had a Weber for 13 years now (same one as Biz I think), replaced the things over the burners once and that’s it. No need for more burners imo, I have slow cooked and smoked foods on mine and never had a problem controlling temps. More burners=more propane @$700 and that’s it, probably never buy another grill.
  5. Espresso guy here, we have a Breville machine. Love it and there is no going back to crap coffee.
  6. Oh forgot to mention that “frost heave” was from Steve and I flushing M-80’s down the crapper last time up. You should have seen the clog I made that required explosives to free it. I felt at least ten pounds lighter after.
  7. Stolen stands are a part of the risk with leaving them up unfortunately. Lucky for you I found one on a recent snowmobile trip that I’d be happy to sell to you at a fair price. It won’t help you shot any better though.
  8. Try adding weight up front, 25 grains can change everything. I used lead sinkers to see and it cured my arrow tune.
  9. If we were neighbors I’d want to be up wind, but you’d have all the eggs you could eat.
  10. They don’t come out as pretty as store bought most of the time.
  11. Bare shafts can look odd going into bag targets, I have found that walk back tuning with a bare shaft is good. It absolutely makes you learn where your form is lacking.
  12. I went out and shot today, man that wind was cold. Paper tuning gets you close, the rest is tiny adjustments here and there to get if perfect.
  13. I collected 22 eggs from our hens today, I better get to poaching!
  14. One of my turkey guns has a 28 inch tube, my original 870 that I passed down has a 21 which was awesome.
  15. I have a 15yr old step son that might benefit from this, pm to follow explaining.
  16. Usually done at 12 feet I believe. I’d go on to broad head tuning with fixed blades now even if you don’t plan on using them, it will guarantee a perfect tune.
  17. Love me some poached eggs, bought my wife a poacher recently. Throw some hollandaise on top and it’s gtg.
  18. I call BS on claiming threads are deleted.
  19. Two minutes of searching and mystery solved, http://www.canoetripping.net/forums/member/155-robin
  20. Why? he hunts state land. Easy as pie just repel down into the gorge and wait all season till a buck stumbles by. No skill needed. Oops I mean only the best can do it!!!
  21. Trick question. We all know FSW is the best, just ask him.
  22. My kid has a Savage Axis which I consider a low end gun but, slap a Boyd’s stock on it and do a tiny bit of trigger modification and you get a damn good shooter for still less than a Remi. In my opinion Remington are over priced and rely heavily on their name and what it used to be. I wouldn’t even consider one but that’s me.
  23. Had a fun day in the fog and wet snow tracking. We were on deer off the start, jumped a doe in the heavy fog and had no time for a shot before she was gone out of sight. Switched areas of the mountain and again was on deer quickly. I was having fun tracking a young buck, he was about to bed and I got distracted by some blood in a different set of tracks and as I was working that situation out I jumped the young buck who was with a couple of doe. I was within three steps of seeing them before I turned my attention to the bloody fawn track. Oppsie I would have been interested in the doe not the buck. The wet snow was like walking around on a beach and tired me out faster than it should have. Lol
  24. The boy did good, missed under on his first shot at @30 and then nailed it on the second and put it right down with a shot to the heart and lungs from his 7-08 with my hand loads. He was with my bother who has a streak of being with guys on their first deer. My brother said he was breathing hard like it was his first lol. Awesome morning.
  25. I used a yard stick cause that’s all I had and got a measurement of 76 inches. That means by VOLUME he should yield 193 pounds. I am positive we saw his relatives in the woods last time out. They all had the same color hair and each had two ears.
