  1. Just wondering for all the guys who use their wife's license if they should have a second vote/input ..... I am just appalled with all of the wasted efforts and costs related to these surveys. Firms up my belief they don't care. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  2. Wild yes- bait bucket or dump divers ; no. Neve could understand why someone would want to shoot a 150lb bear in Canada- little sporting effort, taste horrid and your trophy is a bathrobe sized rub
  3. It more of using a kids bow late season .... Your challenge is not what is most effective for dispatch. If I said I am using a 308, 3006... 270 or even a 243 (which is not even in MY thoughts as a deer round) at 300 yards but have never shot the gun or a gun past 75- what would you say? Why not a 204? A dull broadhead? This is the crap that makes us all look bad and where the weak glue of banding together against all the non hunters easily melts away. I feel you are selfishly progressing into an unethical venture. I also can't get over how folks on here play both sides of the "it's legal" sword. One of the ever increasing moments I am more embarrassed of the fraternity than part of it. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  4. Since its legal why don't we throw the 17 rem I the mix? [emoji33] Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  5. Always a treasure chest of value by the "I want it but am too lazy to work for anything" crowd. Perhaps you could ask Hillary to take away the skills and land of all those mean people who don't want to share their piles of opportunity with you Your low standards and effort are the reason, not a good excuse gents. 6. The pumpkins in Darien seem to have a poor track record of safety with scatterguns- if they get something flatter and faster to play with it could only be worse.... Especially for the folks that live/drive around the parameter. Drive by there all the time and come gun- the lots are overflowing. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  7. The line (to the horizon) of youth hunters now hooked on hunting after their mid teens introduction to a cherry pickers season are the ones who will wrap it back toward the positive. The DEC can't manage their own funds let alone natural resources/functions. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  8. They've been recommending passing yearly bucks for years and said gun fire in the woods does not effect deer movement (when the youth season was proposed)- they're fools and anyone that's believes them is even more foolish. It is just like pa- has to do w early successional woods and deer car collisions not your hunting. We are just mechanism to make it happen. Would bet they have their excuses aligned for the commentary in 5-10 years about no one seeing any deer already figured out.... They can't manage their own funding and every dope w license privileged thinks they'll have a plan for your resources....... Guess again Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  9. Firm believer the proposals are just a way to usher in the early ml season. NYB has taken heat from the orange majority ... And it's sad. The reason bowhunter take the stances the do is because the Orange majority makes the mess it does. I'll gladly kick the dead horse and say crossbows are not bows and not as safe as bows. They used optics and stay cocked. Those who argue such points or whine about compounds versus recurves/long bows are just crossbow supporters.... The majority of which I've found to be gun hunters who want another buck with better opportunity without any inconvenience of practicing or learning something....
  10. Bad idea- tried it 20 years ago.... Went to steps... Done w them... Strap on steps... Pretty much done w them... Lone wolf sticks or similar are sound money well spent and they won't break or be slippery
  11. It's a limited number entry... Perhaps even a lottery but "yes"
  12. Think some of you could change your signature lines to "I am fine with killing tomorrow's trophy today" and "NY has no big bucks where I can hunt .... Just on posted or leased ground".
  13. In Columbia- they use Cocaine on branches to get deer addicted and returning consistently.
  14. Like the countless posts of such questions posed (perhaps the "do I look fat in this swimsuit that's two sizes too small vane would be a good example)...... Guns can kill deer but this is not the proper selection for your posed purpose. If you're too cheap to buy a more properly suited caliber don't whine when you lose/wound an animal or someone tells you your behavior/experiment is unethical. I am off to start threads on maximum bow shots and is 1200 yards yo far to shoot does on nuisance permit threads. For a place that chastised a guy who took his kid hunting before it was legal you guys are too kind to others..... It must be based on laws not actual thinking for many of you
  15. Great post. It seems most NYers and many members rather ruin an apology for not understanding their behavior is the problem with an excuse for another guys.....
  16. A Ferrari will tow a snowmobile trailer too but........ Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  17. The only person I heard of getting a survey in my area- which holds the highest concentration of hunters- didn't buy a license last year and only had one prior. Everything about the survey- methods, unavailable to be shared, quiet concealed results, wonky questions should have eye brows raised.... But oh wait- they didn't care before or after.... Just wasting time and money (think of the cheaper alternates that would get more participation).... Caring about deer is sort of like spending money on a Republican Governors campaign here.... Great effort , known different and disgusting result where you scratch your head and wondered why do they make it seem like there is even a chance for something good to happen.?....... 18. All gray wolf camo sold Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  19. ^ spot on^ do a google search on licking branches and use a rake to open the area up below. Do it in sept and you'll never have to do it again. Scents are not needed. Deer live and die by their noses and this stuff would be like you walking into your house and smelling someone else cologne and noting footprints through the kitchen. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  20. Bump. Open to offers Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  21. Cams and handwarmer officially sold. Bump and happy father's day
  22. Link to ad w pics and descriptions. http://www.archerytalk.com/vb/showthread.php?t=2538273
  23. Huge let down with their lack of involvement regarding some of the new and/or proposed regs. Had a few emails with local brass (good guys) and above : / The magazine is worth the money hand I've come to terms with that's about all ill get. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  24. Thanks for the clarification. QDMA collects dues, QDM collects effort. A member of both ....but becoming a fan of less than that.
