It seems we have people who know the whole universe based on having one star in a telescope. The irony is that the dec may be using similar blanket assessment tactics. ny hunters are the issue why we ranked #1 on this list and the DEC is making sure we stay there for generations to come Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

The blood draw lady at Alden medical said her nephew developed the red meat allergy from a lone star tick bite (locally)! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Have follow up dr appt Monday will keep you posted Corfu Darien vet says they've seen more ticks this yr than the past 10 combined. Btw- I lost my lab to lymphoma a few years back. He was on advantix but the ticks only die after filling up. The tension on their bodies pushes fluid back in even though they're dead. Gave up some great duck hunting in st Lawrence county because there are so many up there. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Not in most areas .... It's even spelled out on the website ..quality misinformation here Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk -
They built their winter reserves with a great mast crop during a cold fall start- less daylight and earlier rut phases and winter coats- and no reason to move now. Factoring in two horrendous winters, ever increasing coyote numbers and people pressure it's a no brainier numbers are declining as well. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

I have owned or own all the stands mentioned in this thread. I think a summit climber is more comfy than an Lw however I kept the Lw due to packability and quietness. However if you want one and done- get an Lw alpha and 4 sticks- by far the best setup for mobile hunting. They hang faster and quieter than you can climb wo the physical exertion and on trees that are crooked or with limbs. Best set up there is. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

There is a great field and stream test using a bloodhound that shows they work to some degree and more so than any other approach tested. Love or hate them I can't say I know anyone with one that doesn't say it works. Deer don't just notice smells- they catch our skin cells (including bacteria) floating. Anyone who does habitat work and understands how that present opportunities at mature bucks was shafted by the Department of Environmental Compensation. It's all just to say bow hunters had a chance. Rumor has it the take was only down 4% for the first week of sz gun season.... In regions 8&9 that seems to paint a much better picture than reality Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

The shirt noses are only 20% or less of the population- even if you know where they are don't expect frantic chasing Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

I don't want to lug one around and see faults to them (ground scent, continual readjustment, output being insufficient) BUT will say I use a smaller one for my hunting clothes and it definitely makes them smell fresh if I don't have the time or temps to wash something between hunts. Had a sick dog stink up a portion of our basement- ran this thing for 30 minutes and one of my least favorite easy to notice smells was long gone. Plausible effectiveness at best in my opinion but then again I wouldn't post a tactic inquiry on this forum either. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

8g was far slower than usual or before- two bad winters killed more does than the even albany could hope... Numbers are down and decreasing. Hopefully most are smart enough to regulate their take on what they see no what they're told Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Shot a toad 2 Sunday's ago. Go where the wind is least and use the wind to your advantage for a quieter entry. It will subside action but not shut it down. Most people never hunt thick enough- use this as an excuse to get adjacent to doe bedding or more so secluded fields where a buck will keep a doe away from other bucks while she can still feed. Cool buck. 5 yo. 128"? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Crossbows will not reduce the number- perhaps increase it. Maybe I am jaded from spending half of my day this week helping a guy look for his crossbow buck that we never found. "But he was in the scope ....." Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

So many genius comments based solely on "when I can shoot chit" rather than herd dynamics. If some of you got your desires there would be one last deer season then crying all the deer are gone. Also thinking some of the suggestions are PR to the hunting public via the DEC. The subtitle to this thread should be "irony defined" Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

As weapons have evolved so should the desire for ethical kills. At least the thread has taken a path of entertainment with a "Happy Ending"'in oriental massage terminology Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
