  2. Sold pending funds Because of you we can’t have nice things.
  3. Saw a picture of a urban buffalo set that is supposed to go 2teens w 4 drops. Apparently there were a number of guys running this deer and each other ragged and he knocked his second, quoted to be 119” single side, off while being pursued by the guy who has both haves. He was described to me as being a non hunter and having his 4mo old child in a sling stylecarrier. Yes- I am very aware as to how many inches/feet of antler that is and would say it seems legit. A shed obsessed coworker showed me all the pics. Never realized how addicted people get and how crazy urban areas get related to them. I have seen some farm county wNY bucks dropped and others carrying. Valentine’s Day was always when I started to get serious about my searching....perhaps this yr is different. Because of you we can’t have nice things.
  4. It seems 3/4s if people responding to this thread are under the impression 12 yos would be drafted, issued a gun and sent to the woods...... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. An interesting aspect would be to bring data to the table. A quick query of hunting incidents in NY would not justify any concern for: youth based on performance, would warrant the law to mandate fall protection and would have everyone worried about being shot by Jr totally off your rocker on where real injury/incident frequency lies for our area and country. Then again every hunter’s opinion is where their reality and desires show. Surprised more folks weren’t backing this as they tag twice the number of bucks with a rifle in October as in previous years. [emoji848] Because of you we can’t have nice things.
  6. Says the guy who’s fenced in equity is where it all came from.... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. And the cdc has already recommended not consuming animals that have tested positive. It will have a huge impact whether it is a real disease threat to the herd or people. Look at the DEC and the urine ban sure to come in the name of CWD. For the record I see using deer urine as a tactic of hopeless hunters, however a ban on urine in the name of cwd is a really dumb unfounded idea. We also have an impending lead ban in the name of our health and eagles. If political, you don’t need to sway hunters- just the 85% of the population that isn’t a hunter or anti. When we are recreationally killing; game over. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Loggers typically leave your property like an ex does your checkbook. Because of you we can’t have nice things.
  9. Have had minimal luck with DEC trees- I have some 2yo crab apples that are twigs compared to the ones I got through the nwtf Because of you we can’t have nice things.
  10. I’ve got some Atv plot implements you can borrow- just return them promptly and in at least as good of condition as they were picked up in. Because of you we can’t have nice things.
  11. Not trying to be a smart ass here but timber stand improvement and hinge cutting are rarely the same thing. Tsi is for timber quality. Hinge cutting is some deer habitat related deal (screening, browse, bedding, etc). Qdma once said no one should hinge cut a tree unless they know what it is and affects. Broken Antlers

Wow Because of you we can’t have nice things.
  13. Nah- it’s far worse here than internet norm based on being an active member of a bunch of hunting forums. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. $200 Because of you we can’t have nice things.
  15. Awesome. Great job man. Because of you we can’t have nice things.
  16. There were a few similar products at the ata. If you’re keeping your range realistic, say 35 yards, that’s 2 or 3 close pins max. Isn’t knowing the yardage as much about aptitude as shooting the bow itself? This seems to be novelty for the ethical whitetail archer and more of a out west elk thing where people “need carbon bows” and measure gear weight in ounces. Because of you we can’t have nice things.
  17. Bingo! It’s just my antagonistic proclamation for this forum based on that classic kids’ line and so many one sided debates (here). Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. Thanks for the reference. One would assume it’s just or tax dollars being wasted not license dollars. [emoji6] I’ve emailed both Cornell and the DEC on their surveys. Mr.Hurst is the limited, but sufficient, sample size data king of anything outdoors. They’re fine with people not completing them but there is not an ice cube’s chance in hell of anyone outside of the random pool participating. Not sure if it was on here or another forum but someone had got the survey who hadn’t purchased a license in a couple yrs. Do I think all of these surveys are a waste? Yes. Do I think they’re bs and lies? Moreso than not. Because of you we can’t have nice things.
  19. What would Castro do? Because of you we can’t have nice things.
  20. Cornell surveys...surely this is some of our license dollars being wasted and the dec will cite these in something. What a total crock they don’t offer these to all with internet access using their license number rather than 3000 (air quotes) random individuals. Because of you we can’t have nice things.
  21. Not many threads end with doves and olive branches on this forum. We have a polarized positions and mob mentality on this forum to like professional wrestling proportions. Keyboard warriors, self proclaimed pros and lots of uneducated “can’t change my Norm” screamers haunt these halls. We even have threadcrapping in classified ads. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  22. I think a few posts here mentioned it.... Good points regardless Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  23. Here is one example of an abstract on Wyoming mulies. http://journals.plos.org/plosone/article?id=10.1371/journal.pone.0186512 Having good friends outside of Madison who work with deer for an occupation and hunting Illinois myself- numbers have, without a doubt, declined in areas. Substantially. That is the reference I have there. I’m not sure why you’re coming on strong regarding this. I simply stated that hearing CWD is spreading and that the CDC says don’t eat that venison will pull us in an awful position as hunters within the activity and view of the public. I’m not cervid pandemic/endemic expert, not do I live in the west. I am concerned about deer hunting though. To leave them lay or lose access to venison myself is a deal breaker. 24. I am not saying the DEC is in favor of CWD. No one wants it. There is a a reason coyotes have a limited and difficult trapping season here though. Hunters can not control Where they cannot access as well. Not trying to stray from the topic here but what does the DEC do regarding deer? They have interns and techs age a few at processors ..... I think the buck stops there. (Some pun intended) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  25. I agree with a lot of what you said except it’s trashing some mule deer herds, spreading to elk and states like Wisconsin have more testing positive each yr. The dec is throwing out their proposed urine ban as a means to limit it spreading (which makes no sense and, as you stated, is not even warranted). Then again we have had Ehd here too and never hear about it and a lead ammo ban is likely in the next 5 and we don’t have condors in NY. Is cwd spreading and killing deer in other states? Yes. Is the cdc saying test deer and don’t eat positive result animal material? Yes. Is that an issue here in NY? Not yet. Could that be a spin that toppled the deer hunting tower in the eyes of Joe & Jane public to shoot first and maybe eat it? I hope we never find ourselves there answering that.
