M: accessed from road following ditch lets you get in without clearing the deer off the fields. Plant screen when you get to hedgerow and you could get into your stand with deer still feeding right in front of you. Prevailing winds are fine. Others depending on deer use that time of day can be huntable too. Multiple reasons make this a great stand for taking a fat doe or cruising buck. Just make sure you're not in a tree with no cover. get a hangon or ladder up in the limbs and make openings to shoot. other option is an closed up tower blind. O: access from river. Slow go up and across ridge top to stand, but winds will be consistent with direction they're bringing your scent versus going low. also late mornings getting out will likely have you in a position above any possibly bedded deer. This stand also functions as in "inside corner" that can put a lot of deer right in your lap. Can hunt either stand M or O mornings or evenings if the deer give you reason to. H: access similar to O late season or when hunting pressure keeps deer from the open fields. heavy early acorn drops will make it good too. You can catch them staging, working back and forth between bedding, and otherwise browsing around. high enough up the ridge gives a more consistent wind but still has you in reach with a gun. bowhunting likely has to be just above a particular run or set of runs between well used bedding. hunting the bottom will get you busted. P: a likely spot most might pick but IMO not good. Thoughts are deer will be coming off big ag fields during early morning or late afternoon sits. That's probably true but no way to hunt with wind and not get busted by something unless there's a predominant travel path thru that deer are taking. You'll play cat and mouse with where to setup unless you get lucky. hinge or dropping trees to funnel travel might help but deer have a path in mind and often find holes in your road blocks that are easily enough to get through. Other spots in my mind can be and probably are good. Like Jeremy said when the rut happens deer will use every inch of this map. still access is king. easily accessed stands are the first ones to get burned out and are eye candy for trespassers in my mind. others are hard to hunt without busting deer going in or out and at best letting many of them know you're there. deer will still use the property but it's not helping your efforts much. there's my 2 cents on my 3 top spots. ...without boots on the ground or a nice buck patterned to cause me to look at anywhere specific.

i'm with rob the first mount wasn't bad and i'd say is better than many i've seen. second one looks great and seems to resemble the deer when it was on the ground more; muscle proportions, ear position, and maybe cape coloration. out of all the ridiculous off season threads these you post are always refreshing to see.

First all we're seeing is main stream gossip and what's published by media you denounce. Who's to say if any games are being played to the extent that media is making it out to be? I mean they didn't strike that i've heard of so things could be worse than how they ended up in the context you put it. second is mearly pondering. none of us know how hard they pushed or what came to light after the fact. they aren't going to pay the women more than they can if asked. you and others are blowing smoke up your own a** if you think powers that be have no worries about letting a team walk to be replaced, when that team that just proved themselves the best in the world. despite some of their character flaws. last i can't even remotely agree with. i support constitutional rights and freedoms which is why i support them speaking their mind and asking/demanding for more money without being suppressed. despite i think the actions of some players lead me to think they don't entirely deserve it. supporting bigger government would be using a current bias of democracy to pass law, or otherwise, forcing those that write the checks to pay them more. i think if you can't accept their right to take action in asking for more money then you don't support a freedoms of the US framework but support biased freedoms you're simply okay with.

wife's new VW jetta has that. We have driver profiles. i set it to mine and it means the ECO engine tuning mode is on and auto stop is on. i love it. it means when i drive i average at or just under 50 mpg.

by now you can tell what's corn or beans. which helps if you're hunting nearby. this time of year it's feast or famine for seeing bucks. so it's good to locate some bachelor groups and get an idea of deer numbers. i keep binos in the car or truck now. if it'll be really hot during the day i bring them inside or wrap them in a blanket and put them somewhere out of the sun hitting the interior. some bucks are behind others and some further ahead. summer bodies look way different than during the season for judging age. still a mature buck will have a deep neck connecting low on the chest when heads up. gives you an idea of what they might have left, along with points being bulb like or not.

good to see your back at it again.

i think it's already happened to an extent. her kneeling was old news. since i think US Soccer or which ever entity said you stand or don't play. you can only make so many rules but if someone wants to be disrespectful it'll happen somehow. i don't disagree with your intent though. As team USA she needs to be held to a higher standard, not necessarily what she accepts. whatever the situation is now is what it is. next printed contract i'm sure will address some stuff and hopefully they don't let stuff slide just to be relevant.

you're obviously wrong and they think the 1st amendment is shit. we should be like third world countries where people in public are censored. if you say something the government doesn't like then you go in the hole! things would then be so amazing. hahaha

for those of you that are arguing that is what they agreed to and they should live with it. any at point did you wonder if the women's team reps agreed to the pay structure they did because that's the best deal that could be had at the time but the players still aren't happy with it? i mean in other union negotiated contracts that idea isn't unheard of. at some point you have to get what you can get or nobody plays and nothing happens. I agree what's on paper has to be lived with for now unless some sort of shadiness happened during negotiations.

the Thailand game was ridiculous for numbers of goals scored. Still each goal wasn't like it was choreographed. First group stage match. anticipation and nerves are threw the roof no matter who you play. you start kicking ass and it's going to be hard to hold back that excitement. it's not just another game. it's event every soccer player lives and trains for or dreams to be at but never has the chance. After the clock ran out the US team walked around and hugged the Thai team. Some were even giving words of encouragement to try to lift them back up. Sportsman like conduct and respect was definitely there.

maybe. when i had it, the plants where too far gone. it kept it at bay for a while to get some yield but eventually they got to the point i dug them up.

The theory still applies small diameter cut on contact is best bet with low poundage setup. That said the bow discussed is rippin arrows and not the same as bows of say ten years ago. Just stay away from the biggest diameter stuff with aggressive steep angled blades and grampy should be fine. Certain parts of the deer you just arent getting thru no matter how much Ke, arrow weight, or broadhead you're sending down range. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk

Some of you are unbelievable. I dont care if the womens team could get beat by trained monkeys. If they bring in more money as phade seems to be showing they shouldn't make less. If that was you and your day job youd be looking for another one. lol what floors me more is the "just shake hands and be grateful for the win". I get some celebrate in poor taste but Wtf! They just won the WORLD CUP! Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk

If it progresses the veggies will never have time to grow. Itll rot and turn to mush. You not watering might be helping it not spread then. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk

yea i've gotten it multiple times on different stuff from cucumbers to zucchini to pumpkins. if it hasn't spread much yet then remove anything with it on it and get rid of it. don't just toss it nearby or in a pile off to the side. then use a quart of water with 1 teaspoon of baking soda in the early mornings. otherwise use fungicide spray. spray directly on anywhere you see the white fungus. if you're watering with sprinklers then do it first thing in the am versus at night. what helped me is using soaker hose ran down each row. manifold like setup you can buy with ball valves adjusts flow so certain rows will get more water than others.

inclement weather is subjective. i mean it's on top of a mountain with two valleys converging. on any given day the wind is blowing at least 20 mph with sideways rain. storms roll in through the valleys and by the time you seem them coming you have maybe 5 mins to react. the lighting it at night thing i agree can be fixed but not sure anyone realized it. multiple relatives that have served and seen it. nobody's ever said anything. honestly i know it's a thing but didn't know it was required under the law of flying it. seems to be under the radar a bit. i can think of multiple farms that have one flying and don't light it. not saying it's necessarily right but i wouldn't question any of them having a lack of patriotism.

How many acres do you hunt if it is private land .
dbHunterNY replied to Hunter007's topic in General Chit Chat
i don't remember if i replied. i own nothing huntable but my parent's farm is 335 acres that i hunt. aunt and uncle border that with 39 acres that i can hunt. also i have permission for one adjacent neighbor that's 74 acres. so about 450 contiguous. then there's a couple uncles that own something like 40 acres down the road. also down the road i've got a great aunt and cousins that have about 250 contiguous acres that i can hunt if i really wanted. my parent's farm is part of a QDM co-op that's thousands of contiguous acres which borders another one. you can't hunt throughout the co-op just because you're a part of it. still all together they add up to probably just under 20,000 acres. more co-ops close by just not connected. different properties intermixed in there though with various minimum standards for antlers or age of bucks.
