  1. You've got guts trusting other hunters after hear some of the stories on here!! I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.
  2. Nice buck! Hope you see him in the day light.
  3. It's making me jealous listening to the hunting stories and I still have to wait 2 weeks til I can get in the stand.
  4. I like both. I've gotten deer at both times of the day. My first buck with a bow came in the evening. I will say I seem to see more in the evening then I do in the morning but just dont get many shots. I've had them come out just out of range just before dark and get stuck in the stand waiting for them to move on so I dont spook them when I get down.
  5. How did they get in my head and build my dream home!!!!
  6. I just wanted to double check. I've heard that duck stamps are only good from July 1st-June 30th. I know your HIP # is but doesn't your duck stamp run the same dates as your license. I called the DEC yesterday and they said yes but the lady I talked to sounded a little lost about it.
  7. Has to be my first Deer with a bow. I was hunting in the rain and it snuck up behind me out of some thicket, I was listening to some guys hunting geese on the neighboring property and all of a sudden I hear a grunt. Look down to my left and there's a 6pt stand about 10 ft from me and my bow is hanging on the holder. Luckily it quarters away and gives me a chance to grab my bow and take a 15yrd quarting away shot.
  8. Great looking camp. Should be awesome for the season.
  9. I'm a vendor that works in the webster walmart. They pretty much stopped carrying any hunting stuff. The one in greece actually stocks up pretty well.
  10. I hunt for the meat. I don't care about the size of the rack. Big body fills a freezer more then a big rack. One deer can feed my wife and I for a long time. It saves us a lot of money.
  11. Welcome noodle. I have only been on this site for a week or so and it already seems to be more civil.
  12. I think I might have to get one of those. Looks a lot easier then cutting around and yanking.
  13. We have been butchering our own deer for about 8 yrs now. We taught ourselves how to on a deer that my brother in-law hit with his truck. It's not that difficult once you learn the muscle groups. Also for me it just adds to the hunting experince. We get done with a good day of hunting and go back to the house and start cutting telling our stories and have a couple beers.
  14. Welcome. You'll see a lot of the memebers from the old site on here.
  15. Does anybody now of some decent land to hunt geese in? I have water that I hunt for them in but would like to be able to hunt some fields for them. Seems people have better luck that way.

    Hello

It's nice to see people are finding this site.
  17. Hey name is Matt. Just found this site while doing a search for Empirehunting.com. Glad I found it, I'm sure it will be as good if not better.
