Congrats great Tom!!

Well we knew the birds were coming out into the field between 8-9am, so we headed out this morning around 6:00am just as we got the our spot to set up our decoys a Tom lets go about 100 yrds away. We quick set up our decoys and settle into our blind. 40 mins later the Tom on the left walks through the woods and out into the field where I get a shot at 30yrds. First one down at 7:04am. After we get done celebrating and taking a picture we go back to our blind to talk about what we want to do next and we hear another gobble about 200yrds away. 30 mins later the Tom on the right gives my buddy a shot at about 35yrds and BAM we have two birds down by 7:35am. This was a great day adding to it was it was the first Turkeys for both of us. Couldn't ask for a better way to pop our turkey cherry. Turkey on the left is mine: 20lbs, 1"spurs, 8.5" beard Turkey on right is my buddy's: 23lbs, 7/8" spurs, 9" beard

Wasn't sure where to post this so I thought here was a good place to start. Has anyone tried hunting any of the wild pigs down around the cortland area. If so any info on where i could go, what to use. Ilive in Rochester so the drive wouldn't be bad. I believe they're open all year all you need is a small game license. Thought it would be interesting to try and also hear the meat can be pretty tasty.

All I can say is I want one.

F#$%ng idoits. I have had to put a deer down, but why would you video tape it and brag about it. It happened to me once and I felt so bad when I had to do it. It stuck with me for a while. These guys aren't hunters they are losers!!!

Congrats!! They are starting to get more plentiful around here. I saw 2 big flocks While I was out deer hunting friday. Gotten many of canadiens but never a snow.

Has anybody seen a big increase in deer movement the past couple days. Which is strange for the last couple days of guns season. I was out yeaterday saw 12 of them in the morning and another 8 at night. Waited to see if a buck would pop out but eneded up taken a doe at last light.

I was thinking the same thing as WNY. Looks a lot like a police car.

Congrats on your first deer. You'll remember it forever!!

I made it out this afternoon for about 3 hrs. Did some still hunting in the fresh snow on the way to my stand which is about a 20 min walk from the house. The area I go through has 2 small creeks that run under the path. The whole area was under about 8 inches of water for about 150 yrds. I missed a doe high. Pretty glad I did becuse I would've had to get her back through all that water. Your right it was pretty. It definetly made for a lot less visibility. Harder to see then if there were leaves on the trees.

We don't use a dog and we're in WNY. We just dig the canoe out of the cattails and go out and retrieve it. Can't lie I would love a duck dog but we have 2 dogs already that we've had since before I started duck hunting. No way the wife will let me get another one.

Shots rang out pretty early where I was in 8F. But thats nothing new. Seems like every year I get in my stand and I hear a shot and go Holy Crap. As for the shots it was pretty regular for about the first couple hours then not a peep from about 10-3. Then it started back up again. For me I saw 2 doe but couldn't get a shot. The 2 other guys in our party each got a doe.
